Pretty self explanatory! You need a Tier 1 IJN Hashidate in a random battle.
Post your scores here, or tweet them to @iEarlGreyTV the only request is that entrants also volunteer a wager to go into the prize fund i.e An item that can be gifted from the Wargaming Premium shop.

what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your asking people to pay to enter "your" competition

I don't think so and I also believe you may be breaking the forum rules asking people to pay (wager) to enter competitions

reported as a possible scam

This is typical forum reactions. Should have warned poor IEarlGrey this might happen.

The chap streams WowS every day, and this is an attempt by him to create some more interaction and fun.

http://www.twitch.tv/iearlgrey You can go say hello to him yourself. He is streaming right now.

No disrespect to anyone, but I don't watch streamers.

The idea is to build a pot of promised rewards I.e a prizefund. It's not obligatory to enter though. Hopefully a nice test of gunnery.

The guys on stream think captain skills not important but must be a random battle

I guess the 'i' in front of your name should've warned me that this would be a seriously overpriced challenge...

you want to run a competition that's fine

you want to advertise competition on forums while asking people to pay to enter competition is not fine

if we can all advertise what we want on here then get ready for some spam adverts for my business I run (joking by the way about the spam)

Of course it is a typical reaction but it should have been an expected reaction to a rather short-on-information post.  He should have maybe introduced himself (I don't watch any streamers so unless it is Jingles or Quickybaby I kind of have no idea who they are!).

He should then have explained how the system will work in reasonable detail if he expects people to buy in to this idea because there is a degree of trust needed to just hand over money (effectively) to... some random guy as part of a prize pot!

Just to be clear, it is not pay to enter. It is only requested that participant consider chucking something by way of a prize in. So I've said I'll be happy to pay 3,000 doubloons to the winner, two others have promised 1,000 each and another has said they'll provide 24hrs premium. deciding if we should break the rewards down to 1st 2nd 3rd etc

btw I did introduce myself in the newcomers section yesterday.

Happy Hunting!

the original post said you had to pay a wager to enter competition

was also only 3000 dubloons

very strange way to run a competition where the rules and prizes change some much and all within a hour of posting about it

Ok I think I have a sollution.

Make a post with all the info on the competition. A clear path of participation and also the rules.

Make it clear how the donations work and so and so.

I also understood from your first post hat  I have to pay to enter. This is just miscommunication thats it. Just make it clear to the people.

+1 on the initiative tho.

fair enough you all think he is great

maybe I am reading this all wrong and he is giving away prizes and not demanding anything for that

but the way he started the topic (he has edited it) seem to say to me you had to do a wager

maybe iearlgrey should ask a moderator to delete this thread so he can start again from new and explain the rules in the thread at the start and not change them when he likes

edit:spelling mistake

It's actually a live stream and a lot of ppl have donated to the prize fund so it's not some kind of scam don't know if posting of links to streams are allowed or not so will not post. He is on twitch and it's not hard to find the stream.

I originally posted I reported it as a "possible" scam due to the wording of the original thread the op started it with

remember the original thread stated you had to do a wager to enter

he gave no information about himself in this thread and not everyone follows streamers or watches you tube videos

you must also take into account this is a eu forum and as such comes under the eu rules and he started a gambling competiton when he said it was a wager and that is illegal in eu

this is a public forum and as such wg have to be careful what gambling they allow on the forum due to fact somebody will always blame wg if they don't win

Jeez, this forum is poisonous!

iEarlGray is a great guy who streams this game every day. Ripping off anyone is the last thing he would do.

Well then its a non issue as Twitch TV has a donation option so ask there! not here! Also Im sure Erl is a great guy but this is not transparent! IE if 100 people Donate 5€ is the total prize going to be 500€ is it going to be a % of the donations and he keeps a Cut? this would be fine but it has to be transparent.

The internet if full of such scamms where the poster pockets the bulk of the donations so yes unless its controlled by a Third party (something like kickstarter) where the donations volume and quantity are displayed in a format the requester has no control over its potential to be a scam is huge!

EarlGrey never intended people to cash in money. He asked people to consider adding to the pool using the gift system. So doubloons, premium time, etc. etc.

He collects 50k donation.

'Also take this 10k prize people offered. Please do subscribe to my twitter and YT, because I get money from those as well.'
