So the island issue is troublesome. Well, at least they are working on it, and expect to have it fixed reasonably soon. But I guess it can turn into the converging torpedos for IJN... always just one patch away.

 

Armourview coming soon enough it seems. 0.5.5 is a lot better than 'soon'. I hoped sooner, but it is a lot better to have a feeling of when, than none at all.

 

Sad to see no test drive function. I mean it isn't that important now, with relatively few ships available for purchase at a given time, but it will only increase. It seems simple to me to just give a special Training Room function where only this ship and a few AI ships can be put in. But I guess that requires Training Room to be released officially.

I'm more concerned that we don't have a depot already, or that it still isn't on the "to do"-list. And didn't they change the cost of stock modules to zero credits a couple of patches ago? Not a very friendly system at high-tiers if I remembered correctly.

Regarding the module depot, it was put on hold because they think it would make the game too complicated for new players or something like that. I don't recall the words exactly but I think it was mentionned in my very first translation. I'll have to take a look.

Nah, it was due to the fact that in WOT, the average player visited the depot once every second/third month or so (think that was the reason we got during CBT). As such, the dev team didn't think it necessary to implement it soon. But WoT is an old game, where the average player have a decent amount of credits on their account->depot is not crucial. For a new game, every bought ship and ship module cost the player an substantial amount ->depot is a nice way to gain a "buffer layer".

As such, the dev team didn't think it necessary to implement it soon. But WoT is an old game, where the average player have a decent amount of credits on their account->depot is not crucial. For a new game, every bought ship and ship module cost the player an substantial amount ->depot is a nice way to gain a "buffer layer".

 

Doesn't the game sell you all your modules when you sell a ship though?

Yeah, but if you keep a ship, you can't sell the stock modules.

 

And so keepers like me are always short on credits ...

Plus that at higher tiers a module cost an arm and a leg. So selling the previous one prohibits you from going completely broke.

 

Of course you won't get as much when you sell the ship, but its more convenient when you are grinding

Well, there's a fix for that which already exists in WoT and doesn't require a depot. I don't know why the devs never included that.

 

In WoT, if you go to modules, you can right-click any module you previously purchased and sell it directly. The reason I never visited the depot there is because there was no reason other than buying consumables with discounts.

I remember when I first discovered my depot in WoT... I bought two new tanks from the cost of the stuff I sold. I was also permanently short on creds. This isn't such an issue now, as I seem to be managing a pretty nice economy (I could buy two tier 6 ships right now, so I guess I'm doing okay), but I'd still like to sell all the modules that I don't need. It would also be nice to have some module intercompatibility (traces of which can be found btw, take Omaha's and Clemson's torpedoes for example), to ease research (like I did on the british llines in WoT with the guns).

  • Regarding turret destruction (in particular to DD's), devs don't want to simply make them indestructible but prefer to find another solution to turret incapacitation. It won't be added before 0.5.6. though.
  • Kutuzov won't be equipped with radar, her "speciality" is the smoke screen. She would be too strong with radar.
  • Chapayev doesn't have repair party, only Donskoy and Moskva.
  • We won't be given a free slot with the release of Ru/Soviet cruisers as one free slot is given for each nation, not for each line.
  • The "Yubari" test ship is used to test maps in the training room. We can quickly sail around maps and fire at terrain from various angles, and test model collisions.
  • Dual purpose secondary guns (NOT dual purpose main guns) will be destroyed less frequently.
  • Teamkilling and Matchmaking problems are currently the top priority.
  • Arpeggio events will continue on the RU-servers since the feedback was either neutral or good.[whether that means it will only continue there, I don't know. Let the speculations begin!]
  • The longer maintenance times (compared to WoT or WoWp) are due to the shortcomings of the client. They are testing a recompressing system on the ST, which should cut down maintenance time. If everything goes as planned, it should be available in 0.5.5.
  • Various changes were made to Ru/Soviet cruisers since they were tested but they won't disclose what was changed. So their final stats may be different that what was datamined and tested.
  • With the change to AA manual targeting (1.1 to 1.3) the maximum modifier you can get is 7.8, instead of 6.6 before.​

​Manual targeting (1.3); captain skill (2.0); defensive fire (3.0). 1.3x2x3 = 7.8 (remember the maximum modifier only applies to dual purpose guns as the captain skill doesn't affect other AA guns).

  • Arpeggio Kirishima will be released in April if possible. Not earlier than that. [Remember they're talking about the RU server so don't get your hopes up needlessly]
  • Profintern won't be released with 0.5.4.
  • Sapain will be available to good CV players through personal offers . More info on that later.

Just imagine this being a new system for premium ships.

 

You have to have certain performance stats in a class and tier to be able to buy a premium ship in that particular class and tier.

 

No "pay to win" but "win to pay" instead :trollface:

I wonder if the personalised special offers are a thing outside RU currently? May be I'm not eligable (yet) but I haven't seen any yet. IIRC it's still being tested, but will they roll it out to all servers simultaneously once it's ready?

I was not about to join the argument, just rather surprised that a ship that you cant grind but have to buy is regarded as a regular ship.
