ST. Clan Base 2.0

Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary.

We are continuing to improve clan base. There are now 9 buildings instead of 5. Here is the list of new buildings:

Coal port gives bonuses to coal received (3 expansions: +5%; +2%; +3%).
Steel port gives bonuses to steel received (3 expansions: +5%; +2%; +3%).
Design Bureau gives bonus to Free XP (6 expansions: +10% for I-VI level; +10% for VII-VIII level; +10% for IX-X level; +5% for all levels; +5% for all levels; +5% for all levels).
Academy gives bonus to Commanders XP (5 expansions for 2% each)
Here is the list of buildings with reworked bonuses:

Dock is now called “Dry dock” (6 expansions: -5% to ships service at I-VI level; -5% at VII-VIII level; -5% at IX-X level; -5% for all levels; -5% for all levels; -5% for all levels).
Research Institute (6 expansions: +2% to ships XP at I-VI level; +2% for VII-VIII level, +2% for IX-X уровней; +1% for all levels; +1% for all levels; +1% for all levels).
Staff is now called “Officers’ club” and has 4 expansions. Each expansion will add 5 more players to a clan. The second expansion will allow the clan to use the second rating for clan battles.
Shipyard is now called Shipbuilding yard (6 expansions: -10% to cost of researchable ships of I-VI level; -10% for VII-VIII level; -10% for IX-X level; -2% for all levels; -2% for all levels; -1% for all levels).
Bonuses are being added up, for example, entirely built Shipbuilding yard will give a bonus of -15% to cost of researchable ships (for any ship level).

Rostral columns features stay the same.

There is also voice accompaniment at the clan base now.

The main goal of these changes is to make Clan base more useful and valuable for players and oil to be more demanded resource.

With the release of the new clan base on the main server all buildings will be destroyed, their value will be credited to oil's account of the clan. The exception will be the Staff / Officers’ club. Thus the maximum capacity of the clans will be saved.

All stats are listed without crew and upgrade modifiers but with best available modules. The stats are subject to change during the testing.

The visual appearance and characteristics of the ship's air defense are not final and are subject to change in subsequent updates.

ST. Balance changes. British Destroyers.

 

For all researched British destroyers the wide spread of TT was replaced by a narrow one, which is similar to of British cruisers’ TT.

 

The firing angles of some turrets of British destroyers from Tier III to X has been increased. This allows destroyers to feel more comfortable in melee combat and in battles with ships of the same class.

  • Wakeful – the ability of #3 turret to rotate 360 degrees has been removed.
  • Icarus – reload time of researched torpedoes has been reduced from 133 to 120 seconds.
  • Jervis – added the ability of #3 turret to rotate 360 degrees. The ability to rotate 360 for the 2nd TT has been removed.
  • Lightning – main battery reload time has been reduced from 5 to 4.5 seconds; the horizontal rotation speed has been increased to 20 degrees per second; the ability to rotate 360 degrees has been added for all turrets.
  • Jutland – the ability to rotate 360 degrees has been added for 1, 2 and 3 turrets; “Fire Control System, Modification 2” is now available for installation; the maximum range of basic hull has been reduced from 12,01 to 11,37 km and from 13,21 to 12,51 on upgradable hull.
  • Daring - for 1, 2 and 3 turrets added the ability to rotate 360 degrees, added the ability to install upgrades "Fire control system Modification 2", the maximum range has been reduced from 13.78 to 12.78 km.

Restricting the rotation of some turrets was made to bring logical behavior to the armament group on a ship and for synchronous rotation.

 

Reduction of range was implemented to make it less excessive and more efficient. When firing main battery guns, destroyers will be spotted at maximum firing range but at the same time, because of ballistics, firing at a target at the limit is inefficient.

 

The speed and acceleration settings for all researched British destroyers and Cossack has been improved. These settings are similar to British cruisers. Now destroyers gain their speed faster and lose it less when turning. “Engine Modification 2” is now unavailable for installation.

 

These changes are intended to improve British destroyers gameplay in melee combat and highlight their role of “defensive” and slow ships, with bigger smoke’s range and Hydroacoustic Search consumable.

 

Smoke generator’s settings have been changed for all researched British destroyers.

  • Emission time has been reduced from 15 to 10 seconds;
  • Duration of a smoke screen has been reduced to 40 seconds. It used to be up to 113 seconds depends on a level.
  • Cooldown has been reduced from 240 and 160 to 80 and 60 seconds for default and upgraded equipment respectively.
  • Number of charges has been increased from 2 and 3 to 5 and 6 for default and upgraded equipment respectively.

Updated equipment characteristics will make destroyers more mobile when it comes to tactics and be more efficient in their role of defensive ship. These changes also allow to leave a smoke screen in case of a danger without losing destroyers efficiency.

 

We often come across questions about British torpedoes and now we would like to answer to them. We don’t consider any more changes which can influence the whole tech tree besides those we have already announced here. British destroyers are mostly hybrid destroyers and have pretty good weapons with a high chance of setting fires. Moreover, in the current testing stage these ships have two options of torpedo firing: a narrow fan and a single fire. The single fire in a battle gives a nice opportunity to launch torpedoes in a line and increase the chance that all of them will reach an enemy. The single fire also allows to launch limited amount of torpedoes and save other ones for the right moment.

ST. Soviet Cruiser Stalingrad Tier X

Basic visibility changed from 18.72 to 18.12 km. Visibility during firing in a smoke from Main Battery has been reduced from 15.58 to 14.87 km.

“Defensive AA Fire” consumable has been added to the extra slot:

Number of charges: 2 (Defensive AA Fire l) and 3 (Defensive AA Fire ll).
Reload time: 240 (Defensive AA Fire l) and 180 (Defensive AA Fire ll).
Duration: 60 seconds.
AA damage increase: +100%.
These are final changes and soon this ship will be added to the Arsenal for steel exchange. We would like to sum up and anounnce the cruisers final statistics.

Stalingrad is a heavy cruiser with an impressive 305 mm caliber and significant combat capacity – 72 450. The ship has two types of ammunition: High-explosive (HE) and Armor-piercing (AP).

HE characteristics:

Initial velocity – 950 m/sec; maximum damage – 4500; chance of fire – 33%.
AP characteristics:

Initial velocity – 950 m/sec; maximum damage – 9200; Reduced shell arming threshold – 34 mm; improved ricochet angle settings: automatic ricochet happens at 65 degrees and possible ricochet may happen at 55 degrees.
Reload time – 20 seconds, Sigma value of 2.65. The ship has the same dispersion ellipse as Graf Spee. It’s more than an average cruiser has, but less in comparison to a typical battleship. Maximum firing range - 20 350 meters.

Armour – 25 mm. It’s worth mentioning that armour of casemate and the forward armour belt is 50 mm and with good citadel armour. This gives good potential to avoid damage from cruisers high-explosive shells and even ricochet the biggest shell in the game (460 mm) at acute angles. Number of charges of “Damage Control Party” is infinite. “Repair Party” restores 33% of citadel’s damage. Fire duration – 45 seconds.

Detectability radius of Stalingrad is comparable to that of battleships at tier X. The large citadel is the same as that found on the cruiser 'Moskva'. All of which makes Stalingrad players carefully pick his battles and choose his maneuvers wisely.

The Cruisers ballistics allow effective fire at any distance with a high chance of penetration. The unique dispersion ellipse gives this ship pretty high accuracy but at the same time is less efficient than that of any other tier X cruiser.

The main goal for Stalingrad is to fire against heavily armored targets with armor-piercing shells which deal a lot of damage. Due to reduced shell arming threshold and high-explosive shells this cruiser may battle with other ships as well. It’s worth noting that reduced shell arming threshold has been reduced from 51 to 34 mm and that allows shells to arm at light and medium armored targets and deal more consistent damage. It looks like Stalingrads guns have everything needed to make this cruiser a versatile ship, however, its reload time is 20 seconds. To reach maximum efficiency, having a relatively low damage per minute and requirements to its commander, this cruisers owner should chose targets wisely and keep their distance.

“Defense AA Fire” gives Stalingrad protection from aircraft attacks for a long period of time. It also increases bomb dropping zone and torpedoes of the enemys aircraft for a minute, though does not give a boost of AA efficiency like other ships with similar consumables. After using this consumable cruiser will be vulnerable to aircraft because of the cooldown of 3-4 minutes.

In summary, this cruiser could be effective against any ship class: the amount of HP allows it to fight against battleships, its armor-piercing shells will frighten any cruiser, and destroyers and aircraft carriers can be countered with consumables like “Surveillance Radar” and “Defense AA Fire”. However, players should be attentive to the battle situation. In unfavorable circumstances Stalingrad won’t be able to change position quickly because of weak maneuverability characteristics and the large dimensions of her hull. It will also important to pay attention to close combat situations where Stalingrad is especially vulnerable because of her large citadel and poor agility.

Assuming the article is right, some interesting information about final Harugumo stats appeared - she's supposedly going to be only 1,5kn slower than Shimakaze. This would mean 37,5kn base speed as opposed to the 35,7 seen in the testing. Sounds like a significant QoL improvement to say the least.

Incidentally, the two values are 35,7 and 37,5 - so it's quite possible that either the person writing article looked at the stats wrong or (more hilariously) the ship was actually tested with wrong stats and she was supposed to be this fast from the very start.

Starting with update 0.7.9 there is a new event in the game – “Royal Navy” - which was timed to the release of British destroyers. The event will last for 3 updates untill 0.7.11.

During this competition, each update will have 4 rounds. Each round equals a new week and has 4 stages, each stage has 5 to 7 tasks. There is a corresponding reward, like in-game stuff, Guineas and Sovereigns, for completing a round, stage or task.

You can be doing all tasks simultaneously, however, getting access to the next stage is only possible after completing certain number of tasks in the previous one. There is no limit to how many tasks you can be doing at the same time, unless stated otherwise. All stages are available for completion until the end of the tour.
After completing all stages, access to the Hall of Fame is unlocked, where players compete for being the absolute best.
Update of London port is timed to British destroyers release.

I don't have any pictures (sorry), but Conway confirmed on Wednesday that Blyskawica will transfer to the Pan European tree and that, as such, the commander will be usable on the other ships in that 'nation'.

 

And I can't remember if it already made it on here (it probably did), but he also mentioned that all Clan base buildings will be destroyed when the new base gets released. The oil will be given back to the clan, so you can decide which buildings to erect first. He also said there will be buildings that increase Free XP, coal and steel gain (maybe even more, but he went too fast with the German for me there :Smile_hiding:)

 

The anniversary collection is also not the only thing that's happening. There will be more (keep an eye on the portal), and there will also be a susprise for long time players (that's the phrase he used, not players with many battles or anything, but long time players. Take from it what you want)

American destroyer Sampson, Tier II and American destroyer Wickes, Tier lll

Torpedo range has been increased from 4.5 to 5 km. These changes will balance these destroyers with other ships in this Tech Tree possessing similar stats.

 

American cruiser St Louis, Tier lll

The sigma of all guns has been decreased from 2 to 1.8. Reload time of researchable guns has been increased from 8 to 9 seconds.

Large HP, high accuracy and 152 mm guns made this ship one of the most efficient at it's tier. These changes are aimed to balance St. Louis with other ships at this level.

 

German cruiser Dresden, Tier ll

Reload time of guns has been increased from 4 to 5 seconds.

This cruiser has a pretty high level of damage per minute. Changing this parameter will balance this cruiser in the line with other ships of this tier.

 

German cruiser Yorck, Tier Vll

The shell velocity of high-explosive and armor-piercing shells to travel 10km has been reduced from 5.65 and 6.72 seconds to 5.09 and 5.14 seconds relatively. AP shells damage has been increased from 5500 to 5600.

These changes will align Yorck's ballistics with other ships in the Tech Tree and highlight the effectiveness of AP shells of German ships.

 

American destroyer Mahan, Tier Vll

Initial surface detectability range reduced from 7.92 to 7.64 km. The detectability after firing in smoke has been reduced: from 2.98 to 2.86.

These changes are valid for all hulls and the main goal is to increase the efficiency of this destroyer in a melee battle, where Mahan can perform very well. The detectability radius of this destroyer didn’t allow it to fulfill its intended role in a battle and this adjustment brings it in the line with other ships of Mahan’s Tier.

 

British destroyers Daring, Tier X and Jutland, Tier IX

For historical accuracy the main battery has been changed from 114 mm to 113 mm.
