Hi all,

Is new 0.5.1 , hopefully, disabling the "Aim Mod" via some unannounced fix (nothing to see in patch notes)?

I also was checking this thread to see if some of the 0.5.1 testers could offer info if it was disabled in Test Server, in particular:

  • Improved performance of the subsystem for rendering markers in battle
  • Optimized several subsystems for the Binocular View

Even if they doesn't look specifically pointed at the cheat itself may touch enough components it depends on to be disabled "by accident" ;) .

Hi all,

So... any news about this (i.e. will the upcoming v0.5.1 finally eliminate the "Aim Mod")?

Fingers crossed...

I suck at this game but I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that a lot of players are using the 'aiming mod' hysteria as an excuse to explain their own short comings instead of just buckling down and trying to improve.

Example: I was in a game yesterday where a Nagato nearly one shotted an Atago. The Atago was at a range of around 9km and broadside on to the Nagato ( probably launching torps ). Almost immediately the Atago captain accused the Nagato captain of using the aiming mod.

Why on earth would the Nagato captain need a cheat mod to nearly kill that Atago?

yeah, if he had an aim mod, he would have killed him :P

I of course am just kidding, your sentiment is quite correct.

I tend to agree with you at this one yet sometimes catch myself wondering if an opponent uses the mod or not. I think the problem is not knowing what a highly skilled player is capable of.

For instance, getting twoshotted in a Cleveland at 20km range by a battleship on hotspot. Or the occasional Cleveland captain who seems to be rediculously accurate at ranges of about 15 km, unerringly hitting or straddling you while you are manoeuvring.

I really dislike the paranoia associated with the mod, especially when I sense it rising in myself, which fortunately rarely happens.

Cheers, M

I have decided that having played many many games since this came to light that a little situational awareness and constant rudder movement , yes even on BB is enough to throw off any AIM mods, BB straight lining wiggle rudder gently left and right, just a bit and watch Cleveland salvos stradle time after time.... Has become a non issue with me but just live posting YouTube vids of people calling me out as noob hacker..... Priceless

Hi all,

The new v0.5.1 is out - any report (collective fingers crossed) that the "Aim Mod" is disabled with this latest patch?

Nope, not working anymore. They removed accessibility to some flash-functions the mod required. Game is now crashing when trying to use it.

Ok, sorry, to be exact:

It is not working on my computer. It crashes with a "memory access violation error" which let me guess the required function(s) are not available any more.

Great news! I hope your game will keep crashing as long as you're using that cheat mod!

Hi all,

According to one post here (in one other thread):

"OMG so many bots"

http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/36208-omg-so-many-bots/page__hl__%2Bbots__fromsearch__1

Apparently aim assist mod users after patch have problems with screen freeze after zooming in view.

So this is why so many players are having disconnects.

Oh joy. :)

update 0.5.1 has worked exclusively for aim-assist and in fact does not work now ... while for aimbot those still work with external program
