[CAIN] G01ngToxicCommand0 Beta Tester 2,177 posts 23,318 battles Report post #1 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) My WR took a 2% drop when WoWS was released yesterday and I have only have had abyssmal teams filled with players that should have stayed in PvE and I am wondering where all the good players are; have they stopped playing? And why are 1/3 of the players in every single battle AFK at start, is there something wrong with this iteration of WoWS or have it been infested with bot players? This is really making it taxing to play to a degree where not playing is becoming the better option. Edited September 18, 2015 by atomskytten

It's probably bad luck... Ive not seen any afk plague but if it's happening over and over for you >5 mins in, and the other team too then... -log the times when it's happening -log the number of users online -if there's a pattern post it in feedback forum
Venatacia Beta Tester 872 posts 5,885 battles Report post #3 Posted September 18, 2015 I noticed the good players started disappearing right after OBT and it's just got worse since. As for the AFK players, that has been around for a while also, my division mates where saying on Skype "we can't get into battle - it's still loading up".... 1 minute later they finally got into battle after the enemy CV had torpedoed them. Who is going to play a game like that?.
[ST-EU] Admiral_noodle Supertest Coordinator 6,337 posts 4,395 battles Report post #4 Posted September 18, 2015 Good players aren't disappearing. They are just more thinly spread since OBT started, and probably playing with their high tier ships too.I've noticed a definite inprovenebt in general play since OBT started though. Much less easy to seal club at tier V now. What time are you playing and from where with what hardware? My PC is a potato and I load in within the first minute *every time* From the UK on 150Mbps connection.

[CMP] Hummus Weekend Tester 605 posts 5,346 battles Report post #10 Posted September 18, 2015 Ranked battles is the way to go. Yup, that is probably where all the good players are at. I've been doing a few ranked battles and I got to say I really like it ... I get the occasional muppet because I'm still at the lower levels, but that's not the end of the world (last game a guy drove off saying " I go where I like" and I was ready to facepalm ... but the rest of the team stayed together and we pwned the enemy, loosing only the solo bob)

Syrchalis Players 1,401 posts 3,820 battles Report post #15 Posted September 19, 2015 I for one stopped playing for three reasons: 1. Release was really disappointing and proofed to me that WG cares only about new players. Literally half the advertisment area in Cologne at Gamescom was full of World of Tanks/Warships. Much bigger much wider known companies had not even a quarter of that in terms of posters and stuff. When it comes to already existing users - they don't even get a good offer once in a while, something every MOBA does weekly. I get that they can't monetize as friendly as LoL can, but they don't even make an effort to give the illusion of caring. 2. I can't stand it anymore that whenever I sink an enemy, he cries in chat. Community as a whole is not very pleasant. Lack of options to limit interaction make it worse. In LoL I can at least generally disable all-chat and /mute all at the start of the game. 3. Ranked battles suck. I honestly never had less fun in this game than in ranked battles.
[ST-EU] Admiral_noodle Supertest Coordinator 6,337 posts 4,395 battles Report post #16 Posted September 19, 2015 1 - doesn't bother me. I'm playing WoWs not waiting for special offers. WG will release the Germans before I've finished with there tech trees so that's good. 2 - doesn't happen to me. Like ever. Chat is either silent or has occasional tactical stuff or chat about ships. Very rarely focus but if it is I ignore it. It's a small part of the screen. 3 - I quite like them but even if I didn't they wouldn't stop me playing random battles... What time of day do you people who are getting toxic chat play? I'm convinced this has something to do with it as I tend to play early morning and late at night, and rarely I'm the early evening..,

I'm convinced this has something to do with it as I tend to play early morning and late at night, and rarely I'm the early evening.., Disclaimer: Is just my personal opinion, I'm not trying to convince you or discredit your points. Mainly trying to clarify what I meant. So no hard feelings please. 1. I of course mainly do play for fun. I just don't like being treated like this if I could play a game where I get treated comparatively like a king. 2. You are maybe very lucky? I have the big disadvantage of being a CV player. If you get hit by 12 torpedos and instantly blow up it makes people mad, so there is that. I also are rather consistent in my results with my CV, so that tends to happen several times a game. 3. I wasn't thorough enough, I'm sorry. Ranked is a huge disappoint because I was hoping for something to get me out of my T10 dilemma. Games up there play very static and boring, so they tend to suck. I don't particularly like lower tiers, so that isn't a good option either. As for time - I literally play at all times. The last month I have played at every time of day and I've always been verbally abused without aggression from my side beforehand. This even got so far that one particular angry BB player started PMing and harassing me on the forums.
EsaTuunanen Beta Tester 3,552 posts 8,863 battles Report post #18 Posted September 19, 2015 Ive not seen any afk plague but if it's happening over and over for you >5 mins in Just five minutes? How about 2 AFKs for whole match two days ago. Ships which should have been among the strongest in team: Could at least have been compensated by having few more minutes to gun down that last enemy instead of loosing on points because of those two AFKs. And here we have the finest example of players playing to lose: Notice that big clusterf**k waiting to get attacked by enemy from two directions. (plus offering excellent chances for enemy TBs) Also that one highlighted Clemson did his utmost to avoid scouting enemy... Having no clue that enemy Omaha and Murmansk were getting below 10km from him so when enemy Nicholas spotted him minute later he got his [edited]royally spanked. In last few days getting team with chances to win has definitely been more up to luck than usual. Later in yesterday situation seemed to get better.

You will see that it saw a sharp climb in the average count when going from CBT to OBT but since then average player count is dropping fast and steady. This is not just for EU, ALL OF THE SERVERS have this problem and on RU and NA the drop is even faster. At this rate, the game will be dead pretty soon for NA and RU (EU might take a bit longer than those two). Still willing to take that bet?
Silvercat18 Beta Tester 273 posts 4,109 battles Report post #20 Posted September 20, 2015 I`d put a lot of this down to the grindy nature of the game. Without an ability to sell our warehoused weapons and with repair costs being a real pain from tier 8, there is a real disincentive to progress. My Lexington is something I play occasionally and I`ll get enough xp on it to buy an Essex but....I`ll be 15 million short of the payment needed to even get it as stock. All my earnings go into upgrading my ships and affording the next tier of them is a painful thing. Add to this the lack of a decent clan or campaign structure and I think the game is something a lot of people will take a break from. We are waiting for these elements to appear and then will play more actively I suspect.

I often see late loaders but AFK players are too rare to mention. Anyone who witnesses AFK, and I mean they have been stationary at their spawn points for more time than deemed reasonable, take a screenshot and submit a ticket highlighting your concern about AFK players. Add to this the lack of a decent clan or campaign structure and I think the game is something a lot of people will take a break from. We are waiting for these elements to appear and then will play more actively I suspect. And the reason why is simple but harsh. WG never intended for WoWs to have longevity. It was intended as a quick cash grab. The lack of features, nations and content like the ones you just listed, coupled with the very high grind nature of the game shows it. Sure WoT had the same thing when it launched, but the situation was different back then. WG was a small studio and had to release the game because they were simply running out of funds and needed money or otherwise face bankruptcy. They also took a huge risk because they had no audience from previous games for WoT and it was pretty much an unknown market at the time. After release they kept working hard on the game adding in new lines and nations pretty quickly. Do you guys remember how short the interval was between new content for WoT? I was amazed at how fast WG was able to add new stuff to that game! Now the situation is different, they have lots of cash, a well experienced and sizable development team and a pretty large audience they can tap into to promote their game to. They literally have no excuse for the lackluster state the game is in right now. And all we hear when translating the RU Q&A is "maybe somewhere later down the line we will add X or Y". Are you kidding me? How can you drop the ball SO FREAKIN HARD when you have all the means you need to make a great game? The only valid reason is: THEY DON'T WANT TO
