It it a difficult ship to excell in, use it as a support cruiser, always keep a friendly between you and the enemy,

try using your anti airpower to shield your team, if you use your AA skill when your longrange guns open on enemy aircraft and have the tier 4 captainskill you will completly wreck whole scuadrons of planes

At long range shoot at battleships

Try getting close to Destroyers when there are not to many enemies suporting him and sink them with two salvos (that's within 6 seconds!)

Try to keep your nose pointed at enemies who are shooting at you

Follow these tips and you will find yourselve at the top xp position most of the time.

GL!

Its a very situationaly aware ship ...You cannot be in the wrong place at the wrong time as it is made of paper and for a good reason ...But get behind a BB or an island then you have a mortar type bombardment that cannot be rivaled ....It burns anything and everything

Trying to play the atlanta on the Ocean map with no carriers is probably a prime example of it being set up to fail miserably, especially in tier 8 / 9 games where your poor range get's you killed. There is literally no support function you can fulfill in this scenario. I've had 3 games in a row on the ocean map previously, all three high tiered battles with no carriers, so couldn't even offer air support.

Good for killing DD's, great rate of fire, but it's guns are easily knocked out, it's armour is squishy and to actually fire at anything you have to be in their face, Almost everything out ranges it's guns. Nice ship, but perhaps needs tweaking to give it an relatively fair chance on all maps. I love mine, but I know on many maps the fight will be hard, and on the Ocean map I pretty much know I'm a tasty distraction for the enemy.

Premium ships are bad for the game future. They must be in trees for win by working. Or only players whose tire is equal with that premium ships tires should buy them. This is not fair for old players and can disincline them from the game. New players could not buy them.

I think premium ships are good for the game. Since its one of the major ways the game gets its funding.

It will become OP when you put a lv 10 captain (+20% range) on it

By design the increase of range is for the 'Secondary Armament', not for the main battery.

But Wiki states "User testing indicates that this affects all guns, not just the secondary battery."

Is this statement still true in the release?

+1 for this. Sums the Atlanta up very well. Situational & very squishy. Which when you consider the current meta means not many chances to shine.

It is true for the weapons up to 155mm(which normally means secondary only), but "luckily" Atlanta has 127mm MAIN guns

Sorry, I don't agree with you. Funding must be by selling doubloons. For quick having high tire ships we can buy doubloons for converting old ships experineces, premium accounts and credits. Also flags, ship slots, parts etc. In this case game will be more fair for all players. Also will be more serious and pleasant. NFS World made this mistake. At the 3.th uptade they started to sell skills for all players by money and lost their serious and old players and finally closed the site. Sorry I can explain much but my English is not enough. I wish I can explain. I think like this.

This game is based on the very successful WoT business model. When I say successful I mean uber successful in terms of money making. This means that there will be many more premium ships to come if WoT is anything to go by.

Well, if this is the case, and remains unaltered in future, one may then wish to research this skill and use it, for example, on the destroyer Farragut - achieving 15.1 km firing range, or Fletcher - 15.5 km firing range ...

For  destroyers?? Hmm...  I am not very sure.

And Murmansk - 17.8 km ?? And with the recon plane 21.3 km  firing range !!  o:O Impossible.

Indeed

For Atlanta, firing at long range is so very hard (slow shells) that its a little hard to use this skill well.

I do think this one needs a buff

Yes, I have this captain skill with Atlanta. It does increase main battery range. It is also true that shooting becomes very difficult in long range, because ammo is so slow. It is literally like "rain of fire, falling from the sky"... kind of cool, but also feels like you are just "spitting randomly", hoping that at least some of it actually hits something, and lit them up.

With 4th skill on Atlanta, it's spray & pray on max range. Like 20 seconds flying time.

Told you before, a BB got beached. I fired on him, he had time to reverse and run before they arrived.

Well, sinking in an Atlanta mostly

Even the tier II premium seems a better USA boat.

Yeah, I have to admit that I don't play Atlanta anymore. I rather play my Murmansk two tiers lower. With Murmur I can at least see my ammo flying towards enemy, rather than waiting for a rain to fall from orbit... lol

I should of never even buy Atlanta.
