Kurbain Players 1,976 posts 2,773 battles Report post #51 Posted November 25, 2015 I've already posted this in the "get rid of destroyers" thread, but as this one is getting a lot of attention as well, I will put it up here, too. This is a replay playing against a team with 5 DDs in my Nagato without Situational Awareness or 20% Rudder Shift Time. It clearly shows that DDs are not overpowered and good BB captains can easily dodge their torpedos if you remember the DD positions and zoom out regularly. I hope a Replay may get the point across better than words would.

It's worse than that he's dead Jim, he's dead Jim, he's dead Jim. It's worse than that he's dead. So are we already playing in the far future the 22nd century isn't it? Or can't the programmers think of a better way to help Destroyers than make them invisible? How about when they aim they become visible? It wouldn't be so bad except a good torper can bump you out of a game before you manage to fire a shot. I saw one guy flashing about and he must of sunk at least half the enemy. That just isn't kosher. Ok, please take this as constructive criticism. You are still very much learning the game so knowing each ships capabilities on each tier takes a while. One thing concerns me is that you already have a tier 8 ship with only 144 battles 18 of which are in the Atago. This is I believe is more of a hindrance to your learning as by tier 8 you (should) have accrued so much more experience and understanding of the game. Now, onto the gripe you have about torpedoes. I can assure you that as a recently converted to DD captain, using torpedoes well is a skill to be mastered. To use your moniker, 'good torpers' are few and far between and as I have already stated, to master them well and to use them with the ships detectability range well, you have to be more than half decent. Learn to accept that they are part of the game and try them yourself (4 battles in the Sampson are not enough) and come back again to write about your experiences.
