ArcheX Players 29 posts 1,141 battles Report post #26 Posted September 22, 2015 my sarcasm detector's batteries are filling so.... In case it isnt sarcasm i had 50-71 FPS before 0.4.1 sorry forgot that some people sarcasm detectors need batteries.... next time i will add that... really it isnt your computer... try to use an AMD processor and see what sound and lag suddenly appears... i flutter between 2 and 76 FPS in certain games continuously and already play without sound as i cannot stand the continuous stuttering anymore.... my pleasure is decreasing steadily if they dont do some major changes soon, i'll give up... Which i really dont like, as the game is really promising.... just the headhoncho's calling the shots are... erm how do i say that without getting banned... not i guess. Thub42 Beta Tester 4 posts 776 battles Report post #28 Posted October 1, 2015 It used to take a while to get into the 1st battle when I started the game, with all subsequent battles being fine, but since open Beta every time I begin a battle it takes 2mins + to get in. I don't know what's wrong with the game but it has put me off playing it. (Incidentally when I do finally get into a battle the FPS is great, the graphics etc are great - it's the getting into the game that sucks).
[YATTA] CubePro [YATTA] Players 7 posts 2,376 battles Report post #29 Posted October 19, 2015 I as well have been waiting for over 3 minutes after the loading ''meter'' thingie disapeared. Was going to play my Kongo, but was halfway dead and had 3 enemy cruisers and a dd next to me when I finaly loaded in. wasnt even worth my time to play, since I died 2 minutes later:/ What is going on with this loading screen problem... I cant believe my PC is the problem here, it must be within WG. [ST-EU] Admiral_noodle Supertest Coordinator 6,337 posts 4,395 battles Report post #30 Posted October 19, 2015 Apparently loading is hard drive related. I've put sea rendering to low and now I'm usually in quick. Before the game starts usually. If the PC has just "woken up" it can be slower.
[RSC] SkybuckFlying Players 1,246 posts 31,660 battles Report post #31 Posted October 21, 2015 The game has 160.000+ little files or so and 30.000+ folders. (It also keeps the torrents/patches/big files as wasted space ?). These many little files are creating a nightmare for the old fashioned harddisks. What is happening here is that Windows is trying to cache as many little files as it possibly can. So people/systems with large ammounts of RAM can store all or most of these files, and thus after loading the first time... the second time it will actually come from windows's cache. The game itself seems to be about 12 GB in files... when it plays it consumes about 1.2 GB. So depending on which ships, textures and models/maps need to be loaded there is lots of re-caching going on. So any system with less than 14 GB of RAM or so will have slow load issues and possibly paging issues ! ;) I also suspect all the caching/paging is taxing the CPU as well cause it will execute the paging/caching algorithm on many many many many files.
