[SICK] Exocet6951 Weekend Tester 5,151 posts 11,809 battles Report post #29 Posted September 17, 2015 Maybe fix the rollercoaster AA value on the entire line? You go from non-existent at low tier (nothing out of the ordinary) then still trash at tier5 (disapointing) then quite good at 6, great a 7, then it gets worse and progressively gets back to a similar amount at tier9. So if the Zao is an escort ship, with sniping pedigree and BB support, why not tune the Ibuki (and to a lesser degree the Mogami) to reflect that? Slightly better accuracy, better long range AA, and there; you have yourself a very nice little support ship.
[-TNT-] mrak1979 Beta Tester 476 posts 9,012 battles Report post #30 Posted September 17, 2015 Im satisfied with Ibuki. Compare to Mogami 203 is better but I did most of damage by torpedos usualy. I can deal with other cruisers easily and Im able to surprise enemy BBs with torpedos which are deadly on Ibuki. Fast and do good amount of damage. AA is better then Mogami. LakeTheAce Players 15 posts 3,777 battles Report post #31 Posted September 18, 2015 I dont think Ibuki is a bad ship. I mostly do quite well init and do like that heal ability. You can get yourself in quite nasty situations where you most likely loose health and you still get away with it. Those things i wouldnt do with Mogami becouse you aint getting that health back. My playstyle is mostly aggressive and im all the time looking for those situations to get closer than 10km to pump in those citadels.. about citadels.. i feel like its somewhat harder to get citadels with ibuki.. well.. maybe compered to myoko wich was hell on earth to everyone who showed their broadside. [PORT] Atris2nd Beta Tester 333 posts 6,438 battles Report post #32 Posted September 18, 2015 I found an absolutely baller way to play Ibuki. I got her 3m upgrade that increases the firing range of her guns by an extra 16% as well as her firing range module. Her firing range goes up to -19km-. This means she can eat up battleships with the demolitions expert perk. Try it out, see what you think.

And isn't 19km range actually enough for her to be invisible while firing (counting on having the 5th level smaller detection perk)? That could be really nice. [PORT] Atris2nd Beta Tester 333 posts 6,438 battles Report post #34 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) She's stuck with a fighter, I believe. But if you get the firing range module and the 3m firing range upgrade, she gets a flat out 19.2km firing range, which is simply godlike. I use the demolition expert perk and I find myself torching Yamatos, Amagis and Montanas with ease from range. It's ideal for large targets. And she still retains her capacity to do great damage against cruisers from shorter ranges with AP due to her great firing arc. I honestly expected to hate this ship, as it looked like a flat downgrade to Mogami stock, but she's an amazing sniper. I'd wager that she can remain unspotted firing from 19km too. There's also the option to buy the +10% concealment upgrade, which will further reduce her spotting range. In cases where I have been spotted, battleship shells have a difficult time hitting me due to both maneuverability and being a small target at extreme ranges. [-TNT-] mrak1979 Beta Tester 476 posts 9,012 battles Report post #35 Posted September 19, 2015 Ibuki should use spotting plane. But I didnt found efective nor interesting play it this way. I play Ibuki almost like destroyer:-) not exactly but I try kill cruisers with AP in close range and BBs by surprise attack with torpedos. When Im focused I try stay hidden. Always angel myself and running away from BBs to catch them in torpedo trap:-)
