If only this ship had the same maneuverability as Pepsi, since their armor is similar except vs. lower tier ships that NO hardly ever meets. I just can't get this ship to work for me. The main problem being NO gets MM with T10 guys regularly. And I just can't have any impact on the outcome of the Match with this ship except not getting sunk thus saving some points for my team. I prefer fighter for spotting, with scout plane, you can add like 5k to your damage, but you can have problems with spotting DD and hitting it. I stick with fighters. Nope. I gave up on NO. And like you said, it looks cool (second only to Pepsi IMHO). It was advertised as "souped up Pepsi" and "better in its respective tier than Pepsi in hers". However, I find it severely lacking and the opposite being the truth. Coming back from NO to Pepsi, Pepsi feels like OP. After continuously loosing matches in NO, I won 4 games in a row with Pepsi, with 2-3 kills in each of them while being top scorer in two. Pepsi is ideal for T7, and IMHO this is where NO should belong in its current form. With Pepsi I can molest BBs at max range with continuously shifting rudder and changing speed, and they will have a very hard time hitting me while I pepper them with HE/AP combo. Even if they show their broadsides my AP salvo can hurt them for almost 10k. Since she meets T5-7 DDs often I can very effectively provide a DD screen, and even avoid torpedoes due to high maneuverability. OTOH NO has to go up against faster torpedoes that come in larger numbers (Shima) whilst having worse maneuverability and one turret less. Not to mention DDs you meet at highest tiers have more guns and are stealthier as well. Even its AA (better than Pepsi's only on very short range due to twin Oerlikons) is no match for T-10 CV-s. With AFT and +20% range on my AA guns I barely knocked down 8 planes when 5(!) squadrons flew over me while I was protecting a friendly T10 Hakuryu that was being engaged by enemy Hakuryu. Defensive fire and all... Conclusion: with Atago's Repair Party, Mogami's HE spam and Hipper's crazy good AP - New Orleans is the worst T-VIII CA IMHO and in need of a serious buff. First I would give it a maneuverability Pepsi has, then perhaps increase ROF (or shell trajectory) or HP poll a bit. But before anything else - I'd limit that ship from entering T10 games as the only thing you can do there is stay alive so that your team doesn't lose points. I don't think I am a bad player. I excel with ships commonly considered underdogs. Mutsuki is my favorite DD (much more so than Minekaze) and "Penance-cola" is my favorite CA. After the 5.2 patch I feel that cruisers generally are weaker against bb and dd (cruisers nerfed or bb/dd buffed in some sort?), and trying to grind these two turds at the same time... well, watching my cactus die of thirst is more fun.
