downright negative atmosphere in WOWS

I have to get this off my chest. I have played many online games in my life. Most were 1st person, from Quake up to Far Cry 4. All of these games were a lot of fun to play, in important part by the community. WOWs is the first WG game I am playing.

The atmosphere in WoWS is downright negative. Almost every game, I see insults, rants, ragetyping. Almost every game I see someone typing: "idiots" or "[edited]"... and then it starts. If someone asks to stop insulting, the usual reply is "it's not an insult, it's a fact", and so it goes on. Sure I understand it can be frustrating because the other team is better, someone on your team made a mistake (I too make mistakes), or could have made a better contribution to the game.

What I will learn from now on, is to ignore them or make jokes about it. Jokes make all troubles go away :)

Well, if you compare with wot, wows is actually very friendly. Including on this forum.

I also plays it and i have to say that xvm are one of the biggest problem over there, since people
use it to even rage more(when they compare stats online while playing).

Thats why we never must include something like xvm here. It will just make the situation even worser.

Do yourself a favour Don't play World of Tanks if you think World of Warships is bad that is much worse and since open Beta started they seem to be coming on World of Warships, Agree they do spoil the game but just ignore them is my suggestion

Best you can do.

I'm waiting for the patch where the option to disable chat comes (like in World of Tanks).

5% usefull chat content is not worth paying attention to. Pinging the minimap is all you need to communicate with your random teammates to warn or inform them about your plans - and it comes without language barrier.

oh for the love of .. . .

Why do people think that everything should be wrapped in cotton wool?

At the end of the day, yes its not very nice, but its just text on a screen, nothing more,  nothing less, plus its from people that you will never know and probably lives hundreds of miles away.

Stop being so touchy feely, this is online gaming, arsehole exist here.

Yea, let put those ''idiots or [edited]" to labor camp, this is what you want.

This is what OP said:

Almost every game I see: idiots or [edited]... and then it starts

So he didn't call the other players in such terms, he merely pointed to a common behavior.

My mistake. I apologise. But to the point, hes on about such people in game being down right negative, but you also telling me to 'put my glasses back on' to me as a person feels like a dig in itself, Its not needed, at all. Atleast Historynerd's reply was better. Yours really wasnt.

Nor am but i havent rolled out digs at you. There are many different people on this forum, whether you tolerate it or not, you should learn when something isnt needed and when it is, on this particular point it wasnt. Dont be so selfish.

I can't say how much this is about me being tolerant, and how much about me being prone to jumping to conclusions, too, in certain occasions...

No worries, reading it again, I realize that my statement could be read as me seeing idiots and [edited] in every game. Not how I want it to be interpreted, ouch! Awkward.

Guys, please... this forum is already filled with flames and rage and hate wars... do we need to fight over this, too?

A mistake was done in good faith; the one who did it realized it and apologized. The one who could have been hurt assured that no damage had been done.

So, the matter's settled. No reason to start another conflict.

Proving your point? I am not an [edited] buddy. I just dont like faking faces. You are the one who judged the OP even though you couldnt see the cover of his book because you didnt have glasses. Now i know that you are one of those guys who takes words a bit too serious for what they actually mean. You had two chances. You already picked one and the other one would be a sarcastic way to say sorry. example "sorry :B lets try this again."

Dear Captain Smeerlap,

This game compared with other online games is a rose garden on a sunny day. I suggest the following:

1. Grow a "Thicker skin"

2. If the abuse is directed at you, ignore it. It is probably just some school child you has not learnt how to masterbate properly yet, and is hyper frustrated. Your next game will be different.

3. As with all online games avoid, as much as possible the early evening, and weekends when the "young ones"** are playing.

4. If words on a screen cause you such mental turmoil, then perhaps another game will toughen you up, make a man of you. I suggest Rugby, or perhaps Boxing?

5. Instead of venting on a forum, go for a walk in the Sunshine, and tell yourself its only a game. Say this over and over again. "Sticks and stone will break my bones, but words will never hurt me"

** Refers to mental age, and not physical age.

Good day sir.

about Userext (based on our previous interactions);

your quick to jump to conclusions and quite narrow minded when it comes to debates on the forums. You are quick to get personal with ppl, rather than just debating the issue - all this gets under my skin and makes regular ppl dont wanna interact anymore. Yes this is internet, so what? Thats not an ok to not trying to stay humble and friendly at all times. It takes strenght of character to not be dragged down to low level of the rude crowd. We cant chose how we react internally but we sure can chose how we respond.

Internet is now an integrated part of most lives and will affect your IRL to some extent. One will affect the other.

Good points. I do need to grow a thicker skin. That's how I vowed to ignore it or make jokes about it. Still it just shocks me how negative the sentiment is, compared to any other game I have played before.

Does cycling make a man out of me? The sun is shining, my bike is begging for a 50km ride. I hope it'll help :)
