Will the game be released with *this* torpedo drop model (pic inside)?

Really? Look where the torps begin their wet run, look at the distance between the beach and the ship. The CV player, gaming the game, dropped on the island.

Things like this, togheter with the CV "border hugging" and the "bat" flying are so pathetic. C'mon WG, fix these bugs!

IMHO Thats too close, one posible solution could be that if you enter the short range AA of ANY ship u should see an increase on torp dispersion not as higher as when you use defensive fire skill but something in between.

How could those planes have dropped them torpedoes, the planes are behind and already banking to their left. Doesn't fit with the angle of the torpedoes for a start. Not alone how the torpedoes drop into shallow water or more than likely came through the island in the first place. Such Fubar.

Actually, plane can take off and land on CV through the mountains. Judging from the picture, they probably can drop torps on land as well.

Note that the torps hit the ship. In other words, they were already armed. Can you believe it?

A warship getting close to an island trying to get some shelter from torpedo bombers actually can find herself in a worst situation: the bomber drops on the land and the ship has no time at all to avoid them.

This is probably the worst bug of the game, at least for me.

If you look at that screenshot they are about 350-400 meters from your ship as your aiming at a point some 280 meters from your ship

And you cannot drop on the land and have them go on, torps dropped on the land disappier

You mean the 0.28Km in the crosshair?

Yes, crosshair is pointed infront of the torps, you have to also remember that ships are scaled up, so distances will look little weird

Anyway, there is something weird and wrong in all this. Look at the torp on the right. Did it have its aerial run over the woods/beach? How can it be possible?

The time/distance/speed model of the game allows these things. Add that the TB drop almost vertically and voilà ... you can game the game.

If you actually play some games in CV you would know that Mountains block planes from landing if your rear is near mountain. Didnt try to launch planes near mountain so cannot comment part about taking off

Had similiar expirience earlier today with my BB. Was very close to an island (to my right side) and heading straight towards one-shot Murmansk. Saw torp.squad flying toward me and already was thinging that will get torps from my left side as there was a lot of open space there. Started to shoot the Murmansk and then "torpedo" warning was like wtf...looked to my right side and saw torpedo spread incoming allmost from the island itself. Didint think that they will be armed but they were. Four of 'em hit me and that basicly was the end of that story.

CV's are needed and i dont hate 'em but that range wich torps get armed should be increased. Wasnt my first time that this happens and will not be the last.

Well as far as i know the planes dont actually drop the torps, game just spawns the torps where they would be when they would be launched, im not 100% sure on this though. And planes do not have a physical body in this game either, why you cant shoot them with ships main guns

Planes can't drop torps on land, they will disappear if you land them on land. You can actually see that on the picture (that is USN TB squadron - 6 planes, yet only 4 of them in the water = 2 of them were dropped on land).

I am absolutely sure that the first one didn't arm before hitting your ship, the second one probably too. Only the last one, maybe second from right too. - if you disagree ,post replay for proof ...

btw arming time for USN air dropped torpedoes is 4s in water

If I where a cv player looking at this picture, and have some shame , I immediately switch to another class....

You may need to switch to that CV class. Might help your game experience...

This has happened twice to  me too, TB seem to have just started their change of course, which means the torps were launched a bit earlier and further than where they seem in the pic . That means that the right most torpedo was launched inside the island !

I sure hope they fix this.

Naah, thanks, I am one of those guys who do not need "help...(with the ) game experience..." like you, using exploits and abuses...

I prefer the old fashion, where the enemy still have a chance to defend himself....

This happened to me a while ago. I was literally running parallel to an island less than a few hundred meters away when I saw a TB Squadron fly over the top. I thought no more about it until I saw the Torps coming straight at my broadside. It was as though the Island had launched the Torps. I had no chance.....

thats because the game mechanics, atm, IGNORE, totally ignore, the real life minimal condition to make an decent torpedo launch (low alt, steady course, slow speed, constant angle/direction) - they can make the torpedo bombers launching the torpedo from underwater - will be the same degree of realism.

3.4 sec with now 3.0 sec for IJN.

As for the topic starter - the ships are scaled and are ~2 times bigger, so your Fuso is 410 meters long. The torps need about the same dostance to be armed. There is also no simulated attack run, because it's arcade. The torps on the screenshot are just dropped and still not armed. So if you are more then 1 BB's hull lenght away from the landmass there will be enough space for the torpedo to be dropped there arm to hit you with damage. If you are less then 1 hull lenght away you are safe.

My bad, I thought it was 3 / 4 seconds prior to 0.4.1 for IJN / USN

Datamining showed it was 2.5 sec for IJN and 3.4 sec for USN torps.

This is what I've been saying all along. The problems with skillships are never going to be solved by tweaking a few stats here and there. It is the torpedo drop mechanic itself that needs to be changed.
