Every game the chat box is full of moaning, blame, the word n00b, and mostly dumb chat, god forbid you don't do your job, although no one can ever tell you what that should be as it changes depending on the mood of the 12 year old community. So, grats, pretty much the worst online game community I have come across since, well, ever. Freegames like this manage to be good, but attract the real pond life.

 

Now I am a 40 years old and have been a gamer since you could first plug your PC into a crappy network and blast your mates. Back then I could choose who I spent my time with, learned from and had a chat with. Now if I want to have a quick blast online, I cant choose. I am stuck with kids. Now I don't have anything against kids, but I choose not to hang round them, I have little in common with them and, well, its a bit weird. I also find they have little in the way of patience. Played about 10 ish games tonight, and everyone is full of trash talk. If I wanted to listen to it, I would be playing COD on the Xbox with the kids.

 

So, being 40, with a good job, nice house and spare time, I have money. I would happily, very happily pay a monthly subscription to play on an age verified over 21 server. I would have said 18, but most 18 year olds are like the 13 year olds 20 years ago. So, please, help me out and take my money. A server where people who have little time to play can maximise their time playing with people who are less inclined to go mental because of a million reason life isn't fair to them and its always someone elses fault.

 

At the very least, please let me right click and block a players chat during the game.

 

Take a look at my account, you will see although I have months of premium left on WOT, I stopped playing, please don't let that happen here. There is only some many times I can quit a game due to TK and ranting.

In WOT you have option to turn chat off, it`s a matter of time before we`ll have it here too.

I've played couple of online games and WoWs still has pretty decent community. By far the worst community (by amount of abuse and crap in general in chat) has League of Legends... WoT is trying to catch up, but WoWs is fine.

U know why chat looks that way? ppl get frustrated, lose streaks, etc, then someone say something and boom u got trash chat, i know how this work, myself sometimes losing my nerve and yes WG give us option to block chat same way as WoT

I don't want to have to block chat, chat is there for exactly that, chat, tips, plans, directions, target calls etc. I would just like to not have to read all the [edited] that comes with it. fine if you are having a bad day, but mad rants in chat followed up by private messages from someone who clearly has anger issues isn't really something I choose to spend money on. From a purely business perspective I would assume to maximise your return on investment you could offer the same product but on different platforms that cater to what are clearly different groups of people.

Not really, but like I said, I'm not the sort of person to just sit back and accept thing are that way. I don't expect it to change, however if one person reads this and is a little bit less of an [edited], then I have achieved something. That and its rather cathartic.

But its this type of conversation that is exactly my point. petty point scoring for really no reason.

As far as I see it, its pointless pouring hours of work into designing and creating a game with great care, to have the user experience messed up by a % of the users.

No, the chat comes simply from the Hot Spot map. The map is so [edited], that even 3 games later people are angry they had to waste time on it.

Want less TK? Go to higher tiers. Too many folks at low tiers don't know what they're doing with torps. I am not sure in the few hundred matches I've had at tier 5+ I've actually been subjected to deliberate TK instances. I could probably count one or two as "probable" but I can't rule out plain stupidity.

 

With that said, you might be a little thin-skinned if you're letting folks in online games get to you. Just ignore? It's probably the healthiest thing to do in general, even if I myself don't always abide by that advice. (I should)

 

 

Oh, one final bit... it's not just "dumb teenagers" that play and trashtalk. I wish.

I fully appreciate your frustration and comments but as previously said by another the chance of getting a 21+ only server is zero to a snowflake in Hell's chance. Being realistic WG is a business first and foremost as such profit guides their actions, yes in the short term a subscription for 21+ only may pay but think ahead, the 14 year old's of today are the 21 year old's of 7 years hence, by then other games will come along and would they play a WG game in the future if they were barred from playing now, I think not. Being over 21 myself and female in gender I found the language and abuse offensive but I choose not to read it nor reply to any directed at me. Having also played WOT for a long time I found the level of abuse/bad behavior far far worse there, strangely enough mostly from players wearing clan tags {I would have expected better from them}. Such behavior as I have observed would have resulted in a swift "exit the clan stage left" followed by a ban if a complaint was verified by a screenshot in all the clans I have had the honor to be a member of in the past.

WOW & WOT needs honorable, clean playing, mature players as you appear to be so please do not act in haste and let the "haters" drive you away for if you do they will be the winners which they certainly do not deserve to be.

I stopped playing randoms after about 70 games. Chat is a serious funkill for me. And since we cannot turn it off ... well ... my time is not to sit around having to witness someone trashing others. Because ... as we all know - it is never our own fault - always the noobish team of [edited] we have to do battle with.

Too busy looking down my scope to even see the chat, glance at it every now and then, sometimes get asked what my ship is like, its usually crap
