Would you like to see much bigger explosions when BB die and secondary explosions when alredy dead..plus make the BB slowly dissapear and sink..like 2 minutes..with smoking the area more..

i think it would be more epic to see capital ships have this difference when sinking in regard to other smaller ships like DD, CLs..

and if a small DD, CL is close to the primary explosion of the BB it can get hit by the shock wave and suffer some 15-25% health..

Would you like that..

P.S.: just thought of another ability that might be fun to have... it would be only for BB ships and make a sort of second mini-game for BB

captains when their ship reaches zero hp and dies-starts to sink.. since it takes lots of time to sink(in-game right now is in a second,u die,its over,

but animation is there for another 10-20 seconds..) in real life, how about BB ships that reach zero hp and "die" would still have some ability to affect

their guns, maybe 1 main turret with slower speed, or secondaries under manual control etc.. ) while another time-ticker starts which would be the one

that makes sure when reaching zero u definitely die.. this process can be speed up by enemies hitting you even more..

all of this time your ship is slowly cappsizing, listing, etc..and exploding with smaller detonations inside and outside of the ship with black plume going into the

heights..

it would make killing the BB more dramatic, fun and also interesting from gameplay since it makes enemies think should we concentrate on blowing up the sinkinig BB or just deal with alive ships opposing us instead..

When you say 'obscure' would the smoke have concealment effects or be purely graphical?

As for myself I'd like see more angles when ship sinks. Right now it feels like: got destroyed? Ok, I'll just slowly submerge :hiding:

More of these please:

moar s'plosions? Maybe when detonation or something similarly tragic. But not as a regular way.

@zombie yes.. exactly..it would obscure as smoke screen from DD .. realistic i guess.. there is a lot of smoke coming after a gigantic ship like this explodes.. also would make more interesting gameplay as in a strait such a ship explodes it would block the view making more dangerous to sail into it into a trap maybe..

the cloud should be mostly vertical and then go into some direction at high altiture (supposedly where wind is going making the usual T letter)..

and yes also to the more angles like shown with Darth.. i love it..

Since BBs in ranked battles will be about 4 it would make such scenes epic, meaningful and hard to miss..so you will now a "giant" died somewhere.. even if on the other side of the map..

This is what it should look like when you get magazine detonation ( and a small chance after normal sinking too ).

Bigger and more varied sinking animations and explosions are something we'd like to add.  Personally when I get a detonation on someone I want to see turrets and funnels etc flying off.

It doesnt have to be just big boom and lot of fire - a simple capsize or 90 degrees bow /stern up sinking would be nice as well.

I would like to show some funny pictures from Alpha regarding capsizes, but I can't due to NDA. Suffice to say, those were the most epic "bow-salute" you'll ever see :P

Honestly, this is an excellent idea. I hope WG staff notices this thread and maybe considers it for the next update.

There is bow/stern up sinking in game already, it's just a rare animation.

wasn't it more common in the Alpha and weekend test? I remember there being an issue with ships colliding with the seabed and lifting the entire hull out of the water.

It still happens, but very rarely... had one occasion in 0.4.0 where a Kongo got rammed by a friendly CA and the Kongo was stuck in the water with her bow turrets high up in the air and her entire aft being submerged. Took em 2 minutes to get lose again... the Kongo sailed normally after that though... guess that was the first attempt at a BB submarine. :P

Yeah and it is awesome! When I see a ship having it I have a bit of joy. Hmmm... that sounded better in my head.

But it only really happens near the 'end' of the sinking, so it is usually not noticed. Having it start out with a roll onto the side would make it more pronounced.

Anyway, we have finally gotten good death sounds for regular kills, but for citadel/magazine kills and detonations I would like to see a more spectacular result. Naturally with different sounds, the detonation should naturally have a tremendous thunderclap.

A non-destroyer getting killed by torpedoes should really have a more pronounced list and maybe rollover like Barham (the explosion isn't required but could be useful for battleships as it seems a lot of them did have their magazines blow up when they rolled over).

I think it tends to only happen on torpedo hits to the bow or stern or when a ship is split in two.

I voted yes for both but actually:

One big explosion usually means the ship will be blown apart and sink very very rapidly.

On the other hand a ship sinking due to fire or flooding can take hours to actually sink, without the magazines or boilers exploding.

Can imagine both teams laughing at that.

A Battleship should go down in a blaze of glory, also Mag detonations should be massive explosions that could deal aoe damage maybe if they could code it...i mean in WoT when you ammo rack someone the explode in a massive fireball and i think the turret comes off.

Ya I think so too it would be nice to you know have a nice variety of sinkings + bigger explosion, but obviously it would happen all random like not always.

The visual effect should take into account what actually inflicted the fatal blow on the ship.

Magazine detonation = one big nukelike explosion, turrets flying everywhere, quick sinking

Burnt down = lots of smoke, slow sinking

Flodded = little grey smoke from boiling water in the interior, slow sinking

Citadel penetration = Several big explosions followed by lots of smaller ones

.

.

.

Make sinking an enemy in different ways an art by giving it distinctly different visual feedbacks.
