One shotted all the bloody time

Since the last patch i just can't play CA anymore. BBs continously one hit me on their max range. It is frustrating so say the least. Half of the games i can't even get in range to shoot back lol.

Has anyone else a similar experience with cruisers after this patch?

Always pay attention when there are BBs anywhere near. They got 30 sec reload so it's easy too keep track of them.

Always try and keep your nose pointed towards them and after they fire you can go full broadside.

As cruiser TURN, dont show your side if u dont have to. BBs r accurate at 10km and tier 7+ can oneshoot u but not really at lower tiers.

I got a ~60% winrate on my cruisers pre-patch and a postive K/D, I like to think i am handling my ships better than the average joe :p

Well at T6+ Cruisers are candy for Battleships to citadel at any range :P 

 

these rounds were in my t5 IJN CA. Now I am too afraid to play my Pensacola lol :p

Weren't you too close? If you are too close to a BB, you are asking to be one salvo shot...

 

nope, their max range. Which usually means i am not even able to shoot back.

The aim mods are rife now. You'll get people along in a minute telling you hacks dont exist lol.

 

Proves you dont have a clue what you are talking about, mods and hacks are two different things.

You cannot "mod" aim assist into the game, the closest you'll get is changing the scope. Hacks I doubt will happen, as most likely any information sent from client to server will undergo a "sanity check", you could do it outside the game, possibly, but that is neither a mod or a hack.

 

OP, as a BB fan, i can only say, keep angled. BB's got a muchly need buff in the last patch, and are now to be feared if the player using them knows what they are doing.

I also have this issue. Especially because the shells of bbs are rendered wrong. I get hit 2 seconds too early / too late or I avoid all shells and it hits me anyway.

 

I have no lags / fps drops or whatever. My ping is stable at 30ms and my fps at 60.

OP, as a BB fan, i can only say, keep angled. BB's got a muchly need buff in the last patch, and are now to be feared if the player using them knows what they are doing.

 

I always angle in my Pensacola. Cruisers cant penetrate it but bb shells will go through the citadel at any angle.

thats not just BB shells, that happens with all shells.

well . . . yeah, its a cruiser, you dont expect to be able to bounce 14/15/16 inch AP shells all the time, do you?

Regarding angling:

To be precise and fair, bb shells can sometimes be deflected even by cruisers and u pose a much smaller target which always positive. Also, some cruisers can citadel even angled cruisers, mostly 203mm shells that is.

actually, if the angle is right you should be able to bounce them all the time, that's simple physics :p

agreed, it does vastly help, armor and profile, however, we are talking about some huge shell, with massive penetration, that can go through BB armor.

CA drivers have been spoilt the way CV drivers were, BB's pray on CA's.

IRL of course, no argument from me on that one. Sadly, this is an arcade game, so physics dont mean much when we have BB's doing turns that would make a DD jealous IRL.

Oh yeah. I would love to see an increased turn radius or a little buff in DD torp speed.

What i would love is for DDs to set their torp spread instead of simple tight and wide. So maybe use 3 to decrease the arc and 4 to increase it. That should be beneficial to skilled DD captains and make it more fun.

Perhaps even allow setting the range and speed for the next torp volley. More range = less speed and more speed = less range. But you have to plan in advance b/c reload time.

all good options, but your heading into simulator territory with it, it will never happen as, well, arcade.

About the Furutaka, the armour on it is kind of crap, and it's more of a CL than a CA; it just has 203mm guns with the armor of a light-cruiser.

There's no way they're magically hitting you at max range unless you let them, I'm sorry to say.
