Great skin Wyvern!, however, when Scharnhorst is loaded after Graf Spee, the formers main and secondaries over ride the GS's skin :( Guess there isnt much that you can do about it till or IF WG change their file system.

Thanks and yeah, that's just how it is I'm afraid. I can't imagine Wargaming setting it so that each ship has its own complete, unique texture set. That'd probably take up far too much space for Wargaming to consider.

I use now the version 6.0.0 of the game but the skins of the Bogatyr don't appear.
I put them in the folder res-mod the contents of 1904 version but nothing?!
Can you tell me if these skins go with that version?

Thanks.

Use ModAPI to achieve this.

Scharnhorst skinsnot working

They are, but you need to delete the files inside World_of_Warships\res_mods\0.6.0.1\content\gameplay\germany\ship\battleship\GSB003_Scharnhorst_1939

Very nice skin. Particularly like the turrets. You can use it with the GSC023_Graf_Spee_1939_mg.dds file from the Haifuri Graf Spee (also very handsome work), then there is no need to change the camouflage.xml file at all.

Apparently whether camouflage appears or not is related to the blue channel in the _mg.dds texture file. There was a post related to it on the NA forum editing it using Photoshop but I can't find it anymore. In principle, if the blue channel gets removed from the _mg.dds file, then you can equip any camouflage on that particular ship without showing it. I tried to do it myself with my rudimentary skills and tools but couldn't quite get it to work as the resulting colour matching brown needs to be pretty exact. Any remaining trace blue channel, and camo still 'bleeds' through.

Maybe you could give it a go, Wyvern? Would simplify things a lot - particularly if you want to combine running custom skins with e.g. Wawan's custom camouflages, which are superior to the stock versions.

I could give it a go but personally I don't much fancy the thought of going back through all of my skins and re-uploading them. We'll see, it's not too difficult to remove the entire blue channel from the mg texture, it's just a long drawn out process doing it for everything, also if I were to start using modified mg maps without the blue channel I would have to change the mg texture for every single little thing to make sure the camo doesn't apply to it, this would cause issues with camos being applied on some things but not others on ships where textures are shared and increase the download size for each skin considerably.

I understand. Wouldn't want to create extra work. :)

Is there an easier way to extract the blue colour from the mg file other than select click, pick the colour and moving the slider for blue component to zero, then fill the blue part with it? It's cumbersome and not perfect. I am using paint.net.

I just used the channels modifier in Photoshop and dropped the blue channel down to 0. I don't know anything at all about paint.net
