Not any more, they don't! G's black and gold Aurora skin works just fine on my Diana and looks an absolute treat. Just have to make the permanent camouflage invisible and - presto, she's part of the IInd Baltic Squadron once again.

 

 I might do it, I really want to do more Royal Navy cruiser skins but I don't have the time ;-;

 

Agree though that the RN cruisers are in more immediate need of some paintwork! The stock imagery just doesn't do them justice. They're a bit better with camouflage on but that looks a bit too wild for my taste. All the best for your studies and keep up the good work!

I don't know, I really don't have the time at the moment and I've said before I don't really want to make things for the Gneisenau because it just won't fit with the historical nature. I'll see what I can do

• Updated Historical Naval Ensign and Signal flags for 0.5.15.0
• Everything else is working fine

 

Hi Wyvern! The Perth Commonwealth flag gets replaced with the Royal Navy Ensign. Is this intentional?

The Royal Australian Navy used the Royal Navy White Ensign during World War 2.

 

Edit: They also used the Australian flag as a naval jack on the HMAS Perth. You can just edit one of the reward flags in WoWs to have it.

Yes it is, during the time period covered by WoWS the Commonwealth flag didn't even exist

Is there any way of installing a Takao-class camo on my Atago without losing all the other camouflages in the game? I really like the overall grey paint scheme but I don't want all my other ships to look, er, naked...

Yes although you'd have to modify the camouflages.xml yourself so that only the Atago's camouflage is hidden. I can't really help you with that, I find it much easier to comment out the entire xml

Give this a try, make sure you have Notepad++ and the Atago skin you want installed, then go to res_mods\0.5.15.0\ and open the camouflages.xml file with Notepad++. From there where it says <//camouflage> at the top, delete the comment (the //). Now use control+f to search for Atago and find the line with the line above saying <name>camo_permanent_1</name>. Select the whole line below which says <targetShip>PJSC038_Atago_1944</targetShip> and replace it with <targetShip><!--PJSC038_Atago_1944--></targetShip> then save the file and launch WoWS, this should hide the Atago's premium camouflage but none of the others.

Wyvern, your black Oleg skin is very nice, similar to the black gold Aurora. I managed to tweak it so that it fits the second hull (just did some sledgehammer surgery around the bridge deck ) but where do I find the files to black out the casemate and main deck mounted 130 mm guns?

Oh my - you're not saying they changed it again?

I thought they would eventually tire of this useless shuffleboard and see sense to leave it in a standard configuration.

I won ARP TAKAO.

I followed your instructions to rename the proper files inorder to have your skin on the ship.

But I encoundered in a unique issue.

Secondary guns -including AA machine guns- plus the extras on the ship's deck remain "vanilla" Japanesse as provided by the mod you recomended to me.

Is that the way its suposed to be?

For example: I rename your JGS009_127mm40_Type_89_a to JGS009_127mm40_Type_89_TGS_a , as provided by that mod but nothing changed.

The same way i renamed the hull skins with the proper names of TAKAO but the extras as you can see remain the same.

If you want to knowhow to rena me the files. just download the unpacker  gui and start it search for the files of atago and rename takaos files to atago files.....done

Never mind I figure it out.

With the same file the ARP ship mod has secaondary guns must co-exist both:

JGS009_127mm40_Type_89_a [without any renaming].

and

JGS009_127mm40_Type_89_TGS_a

Also the mod has a file named common that includes TAKAO extras on its hull.

By re-painting them with the same color this creator used for his skins everything is fine (exept boats but who cares about boats).

Also by putting the folder with catapult and the folder of torpedos without changes the puzzle is done.

That way my ARP Takao looks great with the TAKAO skin this creator provided us.

I don't think it'll be in there and if it is, there are 144 unique textures in there so have fun looking through that lot
