CuteGirlDoingCuteThings Players 38 posts 415 battles Report post #2 Posted September 3, 2015 It's 9 in the morning here and only 3000 players online. There are not enough high tier carriers perhaps, and the mm put the essex there after a long queue.

xPraetoriaNx Players 75 posts 1,133 battles Report post #5 Posted September 3, 2015 I really don't understand this then. When I want to play my Tipritz, I'm often in queue for 1,5-3 minutes (record is 4,5). Yet other times the MM just goes "ah well, [edited]it" and places people in matches where they don't belong? Like with the carrier above, or when there are tier X ships in an otherwise tier VIII battle, and only on one side...
[KAI] Thorontir Alpha Tester 171 posts 4,243 battles Report post #6 Posted September 3, 2015 Let me quote patch notes for you. Implemented a “mirror balance” for aircraft carriers in terms of their number and tier in almost all cases (except for extremely rare occasions when the waiting time in queue is longer than the maximum time allowed). There will be occasions where the match up wouldn't be balanced, especially on higher tiers when not many players are on-line, but those should be relatively rare. [1UP] Ectar_ Alpha Tester, Players 676 posts 922 battles Report post #11 Posted September 3, 2015 Not much to say... When it's early in the morning and matchmaking is struggling to make teams, you *should* know it starts to drop certain criteria in order make matches. It's dropped 2 of those things for your match. Firstly it's only 8 on 8 Secondly it's not been able to match the carriers per tier. As someone with over 18,000 battles in World of Tanks, I'd have thought you'd understand the core basics of how our matchmaking system works.

As someone with nearly 30k battles in WoT I understand that your matchmaking system is not working. @OP: There is a start-up tip stating something along those lines for a reason => If waiting time is too long try another tier/ship!

With all due respect, Ectar, this is not a correct policy. Just because one dude wants to play his big stick ship with low player counts it doesn't mean his wish should ruin the fun of the upcoming battle for the other 23 players. The dude with the un-matchmakeable ship should wait in the queue until a proper game for him appears, and if he doesn't want to wait, he always can play some other ship. In other words, it shouldn't be the thousands normal players being told "you're screwed because there are low numbers in the server", but the dozens players with big ships being told "you don't get games too quickly because there are low numbers in the server". An individual's fun<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<the other 23 players' fun. Your whole MM-related policy, imo, is just plain wrong. xPraetoriaNx Players 75 posts 1,133 battles Report post #20 Posted September 3, 2015 Was about to say the same thing as RAMJB.I understand the 8v8, as it was indeed at 9 in the morning on a weekday, but if your ship is "too high tier", you should be alerted by the matchmaker. Sure the picture in my first post is just a slight problem, but look at these... What's the excuse here? So "as someone with over 18000 battles in World of Tanks", i understand that the matchmaker in World of Warships is kinda buggy still. I mean, what the hell, if I, in my Tirpitz often suffer from 3 min long queues, because of the flood of Tirpitzes, why can't "too high tier" players be told to sod off and either wait a bit more or play different ships? By the logic we see in these two images, Tirpitzes should be put into tier battles witch were indented to house tier V-VI ships. "Oh sorry, so many Tipritzes in the queue, I can't place them in tier VIII battles, so here you go, one side gets 2-3 of them so they can rape your tier V [edited]."(Needless to say, in both cases the group with tier X ships won, by a lot.) If it was not your goal from the beginning to do this, it was just plain retarded to go into queue with a Tier 8 BB and just shows that you have not understood what the Matchmaker does.
