What to spend my free xp on.

I have 100,000 free xp to burn. What shall I do with it?

 

Upgrade my Mahan to a Benson? 83K

Upgrade my Pepsicola to a New Orleans? 99K

Bypass the Furutaka altogether and get an Aoba? 45K

Keep it until I have a tier 9, skip it and go straight to T10.

 

I like my Mahan, I hate my pepsicola, I cant be arsed with a furutaka, Tier 9 is still a long way off.

New orleans is a good ship i guess. I didnt play it though so dont trust me at that.

I think bypassing isnt a good choice. Maybe play pepsi until you get 50k exp and use free exp for aoba and N.O

Id hold off personally, at least until after the new patch is released. See how things change, the Furutaka is getting a reasonable buff for instance. It might not be as god awful to play post patch.

In WOT i only use free XP to unlock Modules never to skip a Tank! I will do the same in ships. Trust me hoard you  free XP for when you need it! when you get tier 8 and 9 ships and you need 22k to unlock second hull and the like!!!

Yeah but the Pepsi is crap and on top of that, we are in OBT, we get wiped anyway so I have no problem burning through the xp. Tiet 10 is irrelevant. I don't know when we go full release but it could end up a day after I hit T10.

100 k FXP, hmm, thats about the amount I spend on hulls/guns/torpedos, because most of the stock ships where so bloody awful that I could not stand the grind. But obviously you dont share my distaste. Personally I wound not skip a ship. If only for the experience what she can do and what to expect from her as an opponent.

 

On the other hand, as a beta tester, you probably have already played them all. Keep it for the german tech tree perhaps?

Usually I spend free xp on module researching so I don't have to suffer play stock ships. But if you have a lot of gold then does it matter as you can burn more free xp any time you need

Keep it, unlock the next ship, use it to unlock all the modules, rinse and repeat.

Unless you're going up the USA BB line, in which case, save up to skip the Colorado, just buy upgrades, playing with an unupgraded ship is a bad idea....

 

Specifically, hull upgrades and range upgrades, the rest don't usually matter that much.  (Unless you're a CV).

I stopped playing when I got to it..pretty much exactly the same ships as the Pepsi but you will be seriously outmatched as many games will be lots of T9 and T10 opponents.

Drove them in CBT, not in a hurry to get them again

This is what I'm going to do... save to skip Colorado, or at least most of it. I play for fun, and grinding some 120k xp with bad ship is not fun for me.

Pensacola and new Orleans are good ships for support.

Stick with some BB or CV for AA assistance, use AP and stay in second or better in third line,  then you become deadly. (if you know to aim ofc... )

Hi saidor, like you I have free XP to burn but unlike you I have been fortunate with the Pepsi, same hit ratio of 27% but in 33 battles have won 20 (well the team I was in at the time won!), 38 warships destroyed etc. Also like you played the NO previously but for me it was since Alpha days and all she is, is a Pepsi with less firepower (1 less barrel) and only 1100 extra HP (on the upgraded hull). For me I will skip the NO rather than the Pepsi but who knows!

and just as a sidenote, the Furutaka isnt that bad, it just plays completely different than the Kuma

203mm guns at t5 on a cruiser are pretty awesome (AP ammo)
