I'm rather new to this game but I reached tier V both in Japanene battleship and cruiser tech trees. I really enjoy that game and I thought for a while about buying my first premium ship. But seriously, its like a better Omaha in top configuration (longer ranged torps, better rudder shift), only thing missing is lack of fighter aircraft, instead, you get a spotter to push your range out to like 18km. IamTroublemaker Beta Tester 2,287 posts 11,047 battles Report post #7 Posted September 1, 2015 Definitely not a ship that is a couple of tiers above your highest researched ship (you can see a few topics below a guy whining about all tier 8 premiums he bought being UP, while his highest researched ship was tier 5) so I would recommend (as those guys above) Murmansk, you can research Omaha (tier 5 US CA) to see approximately what you can expect from Murmansk (although it has a bit less guns but better AA and torps) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It's almost a quarter of the price of a Tirpitz and the Murmansk will not bring on the insults and racism like we are seeing in game with the Tirpitz. I'm enjoying both that and the Omaha atm. just never ever let an Atlanta fire AP into your side.... it rips your citadel apart in seconds... It does have 8 km torp range, vs Omaha's 5.5 km. However, Murmansk need to expose more of its sides to the enemy, to fire thoose torps. The Omaha dont need to turn that much, making it easier to fire torps from both sides quicker.
