Those weren't right at the start ( 30s ) into a battle, right?

True with the video's posted its where the game is already sort of going and not the first second where they get their guns loaded for the first time.

I switch ships between games a lot, so i fire at the very start to see how much i need to lead by. Bouncing between murmansk, cleve, aoba and phoenix, they all shoot differently.

The flight time indicator could be used for that ( playing devil's advocate a bit, as it's what I been told when I said the same thing in a previous thread about this subject as you're saying now here ).

If I wanted to be generous, I might entertain the idea that they're deliberately advertising their position in hope of getting more of the enemy to fire at them and in turn reveal their positions. In all honesty though, they're probably just [edited].
