[WUNP] Zijj Beta Tester 3 posts 3,601 battles Report post #1 Posted August 27, 2015 Ok so yes maybe I am a little peeved, or rather, jelly. But considering Jingles never attended gamescon although he intended to, my question is, how did the Mighty Jingles, get himself a Tirpitz? If he was never at gamescon? The only way I can possibly think of is by means of a popular auction website, or by means of Wargaming favouritism? Am I completely alone when I say I would also much like to be a part of such giveaways for those not fortunate enough to attend gamescon. Also may I say, Jingles if you do read this I'm a huge fan of your work and while this isn't meant as a personal attack, I do find it rather disheartening considering your well earned YouTube fame which allows you to have access to such ships before their "public" release.
Sharana Alpha Tester 2,271 posts 1,040 battles Report post #2 Posted August 27, 2015 You don't consider the possibility that community contributors (with popular YT channels for example) like Jingles in this case can get it temporary before others just to create content before it's actually avalible, so players can actually watch those reviews instead of pure stats?
Woel Players 95 posts 2,224 battles Report post #3 Posted August 27, 2015 It's not uncommon for a gaming company to give away free stuff for the more famous youtubers to review. I don't see anything wrong with that, it's beneficial for everyone.

Luckyio ∞ Players 310 posts 8,360 battles Report post #8 Posted August 28, 2015 WG gives away the game and unique ships earlier to high rated twitch streamers and youtubers. It's a symbiotic relationship, streamers/tubers get more viewers because they have something that large audience doesn't have access to yet, and WG gets free advertisement and hype. For example "closed beta" was opened to all major twitch streamers, which generated enough hype to get significant player based when open beta launched. You can still find quite a few twitch streamers advertising their partnership with WG and WoWS.

To save you some rustled jimmies... Jingles is a Community Contributor. Community Contributors are given access to new vehicles before they are released. This is to allow them to have content videos ready for day 1 of the vehicle release, or prior to release to generate interest. These vehicles are added by Wargaming temporarily for the purpose of the review and then later removed. The only contributors with Tirpitz that will stay on their accounts are Quickybaby and Eikarramba who both received physical codes at Gamescom. We are in contact with the Contributors of our games daily and talking to them about potential future content and what they're interested in doing. In short, It's one of the perks of being a contributor and working in partnership with Wargaming.

You put that much time, effort and work into something. Build a youtube channel which becomes popular, get yourself a decent mic, pay for vid editing software etc. Spend a few hours putting together a 30 minute clip. Then you too may get early access stuff like this.
Deathonline Players 4 posts 1,691 battles Report post #20 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) Last night I was watching television when suddenly during the commercials some guy is shown driving a brand new BMW he certainly didn't buy himself. He even rubs it in by telling the viewers about all the great things about the car and where the viewers can buy one for themselves. Ok so yes maybe I am a little peeved, or rather, jelly. But considering that tv actor never attended a BMW dealer although he intended to, my question is, how did that guy get himself a BMW? The only way I can possibly think of is by means of ITS A F****G ADVERTISEMENT, or by means of BMW favouritism? Am I completely alone when I say I would also much like to be a part of such giveaways for those not fortunate enough to attend my local BMW dealer. Also may I say, random tv commercial actor, if you do read this I'm a huge fan of your work and while this isn't meant as a personal attack, I do find it rather disheartening considering your well earned television fame which allows you to have access to such cars before their "public" release. Edit: nice, he even says why he has one on the video. Edited August 28, 2015 by Deathonline
Sub_Eleven Players 1,225 posts Report post #21 Posted August 28, 2015 Loooove uncle Jingles! Even watch some of the tank videos (which I normally hate with a passion) because he makes em fun to watch. But don't be mistaken, it's not easy to do what Jingles does and he puts in alot of work and effort. Wargaming acknowledges and appreciates that and gives new ships up for review like Ectar said. Having popular you tubers make new and interesting content is a great way to attract new customers who otherwise never would have heard of world of warships. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the current players got to know the game via a service like youtube or twitch. basicly free adverisement is great for the wargaming business model so they can keep wows free to play with micro transactions.
