I am starting a petition to eliminate or at least severely reduce RNG factor in BB shots. It is getting out of hand - its already so hard to hit anything with BB even if you aim very well, but with RNG its just too frustrating. There is NO NEED FOR RNG for BBs as they shoot so few shots compared to other classes and every miss is devastating for players DPS and for team.

In other words, you want every salvo you fire in a BB to connect perfectly with where you're aiming.

What is the point of aiming if that isnt the case? If i want to play casino ill go play casino, here i want to shoot and if i aim well ACTUALLY HIT SOMETHING!!!!

So you won't be annoyed if they make shots hit more but only hit for 1k each time?

Because historically it happened this way? Because historically BBs had even worse accuracy than what one could ever get here if RNG doesn't smile his way?

Perhaps the RNG can be adjusted somewhat. But there is no way that it can be taken away. Sorry.

Just accept that the shot dispersion of BB's is yet another 'balancing' tool, and accept that in some cases they may have gone overboard. I agree, it is pretty ridiculous watching your shots spray all over the screen and perfectly bracketing your target (ie you did your part, but RNG said Nope), but that's just the way WG has made a 'game' out of naval warfare. They have realised how stupid it looks at point blank range, and reduced the extreme RNG at close ranges (<3km) in the soon to be released patch apparently, because it really just did look completely stupid missing another BB with almost ALL your shots at 2km in some extreme cases......Kawachi, looking at you.....apparently they loaded 200mm shells in a 300mm barrel, so they could bounce down the barrel like a pinball and come out at a random angle...

Ever saw a KV2 or ISU152 in WOT? Should they also have a better accuracy?

If you haven't played that game and my point is not clear, I mean that you have a solution - play cruiser.

As long as you do not count and calculate all the details leading to actual real life gun dispersion, artificial RNG is required, to prevent perfect accuracy, which quite simply would not only be unrealistic, but also very very silly "virtual 20km sniperships"...

That said... if future versions of game engine&computers make it possible some day, it would be great to CREATE dispersion with calculations, like weather, wind etc. to replace randomness.... but I think for now, it is too complicated, and most of all, too SOON to add it to game.

Simple solution of removing dispersion, is a bad idea.

You HAVE the mighty Kongo and judging from 22 rather poor battles maybe still stock:

To do list:

Upgrade hull

get main battery acc. mod

play some games against bots to learn how to angle and aim.

I have the Kongo, I get hosed by RNGSUS from time to time, but its nothing like in the fairy-tale region you describe. If you aim well you will geht those citadels. And by aiming well I dont only mean hitting, but hitting the right spot at the right time (broadside = citadel invitation).

I mostly still suck with BBs but I am getting better (and for sure the latest game were great) and mighty Kongo is rewarding me and a very good ship generally.

at the end of the day, DD's and CA's have laser like dispersion, but BB's are lucky to land a shell in the same post code. it needs changed, either dispersion increased on CA's and DD's or dispersion decreased for BB's. its the only fair and balanced way of doing it.

Hit with 4 shells and that's over 4k dmg!

And you're going to love Colorado if you get there

I´d suggest you better leave this "because it´s historically accurate" reasoning! If you want to play it that way, it would be historically accurate to have BB secondary guns compensating for the main batteries up to 20km, taking on DDs and CAs instead. Or you increase the torpedo reload on all ships up to a historically accurate time, what would be? 15 Minutes? 30 minutes? And of course, if historically accurate, there has to be implemented a RNG system wether or not torpedos detonate, if they manage to connect. Of course, to be historically accurate, The number of torpedoes has to be limited, so DDs might be able to fire 2 - 4 salvos all the game, while being detected at a range of 10+ kilometres. Reloading and preparing planes or squadrons on CVs will take that long, historically accurate, that a CV player might be able to launch 2 squadrons while the battles last.

BB main battery RNG is broken, aswell as the use of secondary armament. I don´t say, BBs are underpowered, but while all other classes, especially DDs and CVs, received significant changes to their historically abilities to become very powerfull and compeditive, BBs and some CAs were changed in a way which can almost be considered as "overnerfed" instead of "just balanced". There is a reason, why CAs and DDs are considered to be more fun and more reqrding, compared to BBs.

this^^

I've lost count of the number of times im broadside to broadside with an enemy BB, fire an aimed salvo at the waterline, under the smoke stacks, get 5 or 6 hits in my Fuso, and walk away with 1030 damage. but you know, BALANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've lost count of how many times I've done 10-40k dmg with one salvo. Ability to erase half/all of the enemy ship's HP is way too powerful if there's not RNG involved.

Alright, should have said that perhaps we have to draw a line between what happened historically and what is needed for an arcade game, and that having the guns actually have dispersion instead of having laser precision sits in this side of the line.

You can already have (most) of your shots landing where you aim them at 7-5km, pinpoint accuracy from 20km away wuold be beyond broken and we already have too many sniping BBs like this anyway. If you got to the kongo and still think the ship is bad you shuold give up on battleships, they don't get any better than that (compared to same tier ships).

And stop pretending BBs are broken, stats clearly show that they are the best class after CV on every aspect so if you can't make them work it's just not the kind of ship you shuold be playing and there's no shame in that; i couldn't play a CV decently even if my life depended on it.

While I agree that the RNG is abysmal sometimes, this "suggestion" goes beyond retarded, sorry. If all your shots would go exactly where you aim, you could basically "onesalvo" anyone... (assuming you know where to aim)

I have 20k or so free xp (only daily missions and the 5% you get on the side) ready for Fuso (or Pensacola, we will see) EXACTLY for this reason. :teethhappy::coin:

Also dont know because stats wont tell ... but stock Kongo has horrible dispersion pattern, not dispersion - that stays the same even upgraded - but the pattern. With the upgraded hull its so damn satisfying to one shot a Cleveland who thinks straight lining is not only for BBs ....
