Cheap repairs make you get almost all you earn, Atago costs up to 100k credits every game so it`s earning potential is greatly decreased. And it very tricky ship to play. deathrow222 Beta Tester 177 posts 4,408 battles Report post #7 Posted August 25, 2015 murmansk is a ship where you almost cant do wrong with it, its such a great ship, in my eyes even better as the tech three one (omaha), atago is for the more experiend player, 1 you are higher tiered and meet people in battle that know how to play the game, 2 if you dont know how to play a IJN cruiser you can be killed very fast or take masive dmg by getting citadel hits. Whenever I see this damn ship on a friendly team I am more afraid than seeing an enemy. Enemies at least are predictable... Had a match yesterday where a friendly got torped by an Atago, because the idiot decided it was a good idea to launch torps at a BB 17 km away while sailing in a line formation with friendly ships in a second line. Atago is most of the time an easy picking, people controlling them tend not to be good. Just the other day two of those heroes sailed from behind an island full broadside within 10 km from 3 BBs, 2 CA. They didn't lust long, didn't even try to turn and run or better yet not sail from behind the island in a first place since all the enemies were spotted. I bought Atago not because I want to make money in it but because the Takao class is my favorite class of cruiser. Murmansk is just silly good at almost everything. It outranges nearly every battleship it will encounter with the right upgrades and lobs shells almost like an Atlanta. It is stupid how many HE shells it can throw down range it also has really good maneuverability. The Atago on the other hand is a floating citadel and because it has such a bad rep as being used by complete new players you will get focused A LOT. She is a good ship however as long as you angle. Ofcause that means you score low, but it annoys the enemy to see an Atago still afloat. Occassionally you also see an excellent Atago player, which really annoys people. It takes a fair bit of rounds to get to tier VIII. The Murmansk is also a great ship and will make credits and will face much less experienced players.
