How to spot someone Botting.

Seeing more bots in random queue.

 

How you can spot them. game starts for it least 2 min they just stand in the spawn and will not move. They don't respond to messages and usually follow the same pattern they move up and down horizontally the same line and sometime get stuck at the end of the map. When you check their damage at the end of the game they either have none or have 1 or 2 hits. They never go towards map objectives, they just line up and down from the spawn point. Also when they do move , they move together at the exact same time , probably due to the fact same script is used.

 

Seem a couple of people are running several bots at the same time in one game, was in several games were i experienced this. not fun..

What to do if you noticed this pattern just report. These are not afk player, you can easily them spot them.

 

I am sure most of you have noticed these weird ships in the game.

afaik there are not bots atm

afk and iddle players sure, but no bots

i dont get why there is report bot function ingame

IIRC i think i read somewhere that if a player is afk, in a bit, the game puts a built in bot which plays for him until the player connects/reconnects, tho not sure if it's true since i've seen many AFKs myself, just sitting there.

Something I suggested in one of my topics. About afk players. if some were afk for 5min, an bot should take over his ship. As of current state of the game, no bots takes over any afk players ships.

I'm am notoriously slow to load into battle. I play regularly with the guys on the WOWS TS and division up most nights and nearly everybody is in game before I am.

 

It's become a running joke "Right where are we going north or south?", "I don't know I'm not in yet" (insert insults of choice about me being slow)

 

The game is not fully optimized yet and people with older machines like mine have issues like this from time to time. Also there are still issues with game crashes happening occasionally. Then we have actual real life, you know, you click battle and there's a knock on the door? Never happened to you?

Ocasionally I've seen some ships moving very slowly or stoped in the middle of the friendly cap only moving the turrets the whole match so I wouldn't be surprised if some very rudimentary bots already exist.

Going by the OP's description, it's practically impossible to distinguish the bots from 70% of the non-botting players. Oh wait... Now that explains things.

I have pregnant wife, and 18mth old daughter. Both are excellent at requiring me to do something about 10 secs after I press Battle, so more than one game has had me start about 4 mins late

The only evidence I've seen of bots is ships that either;

A) Sail straight in to a corner and stay there

B) Ships that sit still and continually ripple fire in to the same spot without any pause.

 

You look up their names and they'll have a lot of games but very few kills, an abysmal hit rate and very low damage out put.

yeah there is bots, we've all seen them sitting doing nothing, and they are connected, and why would somebody bot you ask, to just to grind to higher tiers without having to do anything, they don't care about results just grinding, to get higher tier ships, which once the game takes off you will see on ebay..

I have seen a bot in CBT, he was afk in the spawn yet his main guns tracked my little destroyer ( he was a BB) he did not fire at me once even tho i was like 5km away...i then sunk him. Another player on their team reported him as a bot and told us his guns kept tracking players despite them being out of range, not only that he never moved or fired.

I'm not sure I understand the logic of using a bot if it just sits there to grind.  Surely it's either going to earn 0 XP or very very little...?  Or have I missed something fundamental?

I am starting to see more of them. The program they using is easily spot-table. Just watch at the beginning of the game when it starts, you will notice 5 or more ships just standing still for few min then they will all move together at half speed at the exact same time , they just move slowy and randomly shoot . Probably using a poorly written bot. This has made random queue sour, not sure if they get ban fast because i reported the same guys several times but i still see them using their bots in the game. Half my games are now with botters, when i see them i already know its a auto loss and just leave and go to another ship hoping not too have to encounter another set of botters.If the game turns into a bot fest , i will be signing out. shame i really like the concept, but if there is no control of botters best to leave before investing yourself.

Feed your hamsters better food.... or buy a surplus WG server... their hamsters work but escape from time to time...

Spotted more botters , they seem more active during the evening. Had a match 6 ships just stood still middle, one was stuck for the whole game in the far corner of the map.

I circled them, they were just spamming shots in the air. Hope they act fast on these reports. These guys botting have started selling accounts online.
