Hey Guys,

So in my dream to get the mighty Yamato I have now gotten the Izumo. I had always heard bad things about this ship (for a long time as well) so wasnt sure what to expect. The Izumo is probably the worst, most toxic, raising blood pressure ship I have played until now. You would think ever since complaints started coming and growing about the Izumo it would have been fixed previous patches but no. So my hope is in 0.4.1. the Izumo will get a much needed buff, or will it?

I have so far read nothing or heard about any buffs to the Izumo. Has anyone heard or read anything about this would love to know.

Also its just not fair Iowa captains have an easy enjoyable grind while Izumo captains have a shitty 400k xp grind come on man...

Also heard Yamato is getting a nerf was all my hard work for nothing and anger?

I have the Yamato now, [edited] Try and find Izumo friends and division with them. I would have lost my mind if i could't complain with someone on how bad that ship is.

But then again, the Izumo is the only ship that can kill a DD sneaking up behind you without you even noticing. Your secondary armements on the last hull is brutal.

The Izumo is a test to see if you are worthy of the mighty Yamato, the ship that oneshot cruisers and lower tier BB's. Yesteday i did a 64k salvo on a Montana with 4 well placed Citadel hits. I was content!

Absolutely is a beauty indeed, but that wooden deck though, ugh, bleaugh.

If Montana didn't exist it would be a good ship :D

I'm actually looking forward to unlocking the Izumo. You might think I'm crazy, but I am keen to find out myself whether it is really as 'terrrible' as some claim. It is no doubt a beautiful looking ship and as we all know, good looks > good stats :child:

Seriously though, I have had people tell me the Kongo is junk, the Fuso is rubbish and the Nagato is a turd, yet I have increasingly enjoyed every single one of them. Will the Izumo really break the mold!?

Kongo - best T5 ship imo-

Fuso - My favorite BB

Nagato is a brawling beast ( i hated this ship, until i learned it was a brawler, suddenly it was a beast)

But yeah, the Nelsson design on the Izumo is nice, but paper armor, low accuracy, bad maneuverability makes it a horrible ship.

But as all other ships it has it's moments, but i hate the Myogi, and the Izumo. All other IJN BB's i really like. (even the Nagato)

How do you guys do it....im struggling to get past furutaka.(i like fully upgraded miyogi tbh)

Im now grinding for cleveland instead and then planning to get a monty :D

Im torn between playing IJN for "hardmode" first which will make me a better player by punishing me for...everything or just playing wows "EZ" mode with US and then going ijn for added challenge, sigh.

Furutaka is a Cruiser, not a battleship. I stopped Cruisers at Pensacola. Cruisers are way to boring. Jack of all trades, master of non.

But the Furutaka is heavly buffed in the upcomming patch, so stay stronk.

These people are often the people that play them at long range. The Nagato infuriated me when I tried long range, 314 damage, 314 damage AH! 942 damage... Then I installed melee modules, took my ship to 6-7km and avast ye mateys, I killed three cruisers within the span of 3 minutes on a regular basis with AP citadel hits and secondaries setting them ablaze. :izmena:

The izumo has secondaries with 7.0km range. With range extension, that's already 8.4km. Add captain skills, that's 9.8km! Play it melee and install these mods instead of accuracy mods for the main guns. At the lower rangs, that increased accuracy is somewhat worthless anyway.

If you compare it to its US counterpart the Iowa, it has fewer secondaries with far less range and actually worse dispersion. The only benefit it has is a bit more range and a little bit more speed, turn rate seems to be the same. Not sure about armour, but then that can be worked around with proper shell choice anyway. The turret rotation is even 5 seconds worse for the Iowa. So I don't really see how the Izumo would be bad or worse, unless it's played in the wrong way, as a sniper rather than a brawler. Most BB users seem to use their ships as snipers anyway.

And yeah, agree with Cogency, Kongo, Fuso and Nagato are extremely good fun in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

Yes i know, i just can't decide myself what i want :P

Yammy has amazing turret sound, penetration, more armor and looks super sexy, but less turrets meaning relying on rng even more =[

Monty has quicker turret turn speed and has more of them and doesn't look less sexy :P. Guessing more people play monty though because it's easier to grind for it, whereas yamato "probably" stands out more(im just guessing here).

Im so torn.

How is AA on both bb's ?

From what i could find on US vs IJN bb line it's just a case of suffer now vs suffer later grind wise

All IJN ships have crappy AA. Even the Yamato compared to NC, Iowa and especally Montana. The Montana shreds planes like a hot knife slices butter. Montana is also way more accurate then the Yamato.

IJN has better low tier BB's, USN has better high tier BB's. IJN is hardmode at Tier 10, USN is easy mode. If you like a challange i think you will enjoy IJN more. But the Accuracy is not bad on the Yamato, but horrible on the Izumo.

The Nagato truely was a plesure as a brawler. Think i might re-buy it, after i rebought the Amagi.

Furutaka 0.4.1

RoF 3.5. RPM -> 4.0 RPM

Gun Traverse 45 sec -> 36 sec

Torps Reload 73 sec -> 76 sec

Range 6km -> 10km

Speed 63 kn -> 59 kn

It's buff for the better but you still gotta struggle with the huge citadel and 10km 203mm's w/ the 20s reload.

As for the Izumo, i didn't find nor i've heard anything about any planned buffs for it.

Same goes for Yamato, didn't find nor have i heard any planned nerf for it.

???

IJN is hardmode on T10?

IMO the Yamato is the better BB than the Montana when it comes to what a BB is supposed to do.

The wooden deck serves a purpose, and give it a classy look.

The Amagi has surprisingly decent AA.

Everyone is talking about secondary guns range and brawling i wonder have they ever tried that? Try to go into 10km range with a BB that has no armor at all. Everyone is staying at range and sniping if yu even try getting closer you are dead in seconds.

Yes it has 10km secondary range yes it can do some damage to a DD if you are lucky, but that is all based on RNG, you can also shoot at it for 5 mins and barely cause any damage, so relying on secondaries only when you have no armor is not very smart imho

Properly.

As in... Don't sail through a crossfire to get within that range, force close range duels and get the drop on other ships. You can easily duel two cruisers with a Nagato even if they are on either side of you (as long as they don't have torps...).

Izumo has absolutely no armor. Even USN CAs can deal upwards of 7k HE damage per salvo on it. In the meantime, Iowa is almost immune to direct damage from HE. Also, Izumo can be easily penetrated through the belt with USN 203s. You'll have a hard time getting the same result on Iowa.

Before they took away the armor panel in the port menu, it claimed that Izumo's belt was up to 152mm if I recall correctly. Feel free to check for yourself or ask someone to check the collision model on http://gamemodels3d.com/worldofwarships/. I'm not feeling like making an account for that one.

Had it in CBT, and while it was horrible in the start. I grew to like it, sure the yamato was better. But get all modules and few upgrades, get used to how it plays and it can be decent. It's a bit different playstyle than regular ships.
