Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #30 Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) Next Teamplay-example on Hot Spot with the Myoko Enemy team has 2 tier VI Cvs, we got one. We agree on attacking the northern enemy group first, together. After defeating the northern enemy group we destroy the remaining enemies except one CV, gg. ;) Replay Edited August 19, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
[SCRUB] WolfGewehr Weekend Tester, In AlfaTesters 2,844 posts 11,496 battles Report post #31 Posted August 17, 2015 I want to contribute too! Today I used this skill called speaking in chat and it probably saved our team from disastrous defeat. Actually I want to thank player DomoNL for starting the chat talk by pointing out our great lemming train. Situation after first ~ two minutes: Mutsuki(DomoNL) and Pensacola at west, me and Nagato at middle heading to east and all others at east flank. Ideal for enemy to break trough our weak west flank. Thanks to spotting by west I realise that enemy has same, but opposite situation. I decide to go and help west flank while telling the east to push. After all our west flank managed to slow down enemy main force and our pushing east flank gathered more attention from enemy. Enemy started to retreat and help their falling side. As we had west cleared we headed to help our eastern guys by attacking to the base. We managed to cap and win the battle. I was so glad after this battle as our team worked together that I actually gave compliment "plays well" for every team member we had I hope my story is understandable as I'm not so good to explain by writing.
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #32 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Thx a lot for your contribution @ WolfGewehr! . . . . . Again on tour with the Kuma! ;) In the beginning I encourage the team to attack eastwards (again) and escort a Wyoming for a little while, I fire at targets of opportunity all the time, * quite often at targets behind island-cover * destroy an enemy Zuiho near the enemy cap-zone and then I head back to our base to help in the defense. I help to defend our base and then run back to their cap, giving us the needed extra points to out-cap them and win this one. ;) Replay Edited August 19, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #33 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Another example for teamplay with the Zuiho on "Big Race" vs Bogue and Langley! ;) I suggest an attack over the eastern flank, our battleships agree, I support the attack with my planes and nothing can stop us! I sail along with our battleships, that way my planes have shorter flight times. ;) Replay Edited August 19, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #34 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) With the Ryujo on "Two Brothers", I suggest an attack in the west, we agree on an attack in the east, a few sail west to defend there. Enemy main fleet is going east too, having AA support from 2 Clevelands...so I attack east and clear the way for our "defenders"... The way is clear in the east now nd our defenders attack, I help to sink their CV and destroy another DD which was attacking our other CV. Then I sail closer and closer to the front through the middle channel to support our team which is attacking the rest of the enemy fleet from two sides until the end, gg. ;) Replay Watch the team-chat, imho a nice example of teamplay and communication in a random battle. ;) Edited August 19, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #35 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) "New Dawn" again with the Zuiho, like so often I suggest an attack by our team to the east, followed by a turn north to crush the enemies - textbook teamplay example imho! Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #36 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) Another nice example for teamwork / templay with the Kongo on "Big Race", we agree on attacking over the east side, we stick to the plan, push through and win this game in 11 minutes, gg! ;) Replay Edited August 19, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #37 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) No firing from the hip in this example, but lots of teamplay! ;) I suggested an attack at A + B, followed by a turn to the south. The team reacts positive to the plan and they communicate to support each other, nice! I spearhead the attack to the south, escorted by a Tenryu and a Kuma, and we crush every single enemy we meet! ;) ...somehow our CVs forgot to move west with the fleet, but yea - ship happens.... ;) Replay Edited August 20, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #38 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) How to get close enough to the enemy to fire at an enemy CV and destroy an Atlanta and a Nagato at the same time? Teamwork! ;) I pointed out that we better be quick and attack one enemy group together, before we suffer too much from their 2 CVs. (we had a Ryujo, they had a the Independence and the Hiryu) So we all rushed in to finish off the northern enemy group together and then turned south to destroy the rest of their fleet in the south. Because the Nagato was so distracted by the combined attack of the other members of my team I could pull off that double-strike. ;) Replay Edited August 21, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad

I wish i'd been on your team all the time, I tried to ask some questions in a game the other day and someone torpedoed me and killed me!!! That's really bad behaviour by the guy from your team. But you also have to understand that most players don't want to explain the game to new players while they play, because it distracts from playing and concentrating on what's happening around them. Better ask these questions in the forum, where players can answer you without the "stress" of battle all around them, at least here they can't sink your ship if they are frustrated and need to vent some anger. ;) . . . . . Textbook teamplay with the Myoko on "Hot Spot"! ;) Ectar in his Minekaze suggests the south-west as our target, I support this with my comments, all agree and off we go! We destroyed 8 enemy ships in 8 minutes - together - no own losses, victory through points. ;) Replay

Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #46 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) "New Dawn": Red= typical behaviour of a team that does not communicate and does not work together. A part of the team sails towards A, the rest scatters to B and C. Ships at A can NOT support ships at C, simply because these areas are too far apart from another. So here you basically have 3 separate little gropus which all fight their own little battles, if one of those groups runs into a superior enemy group of ships the outcome is almost always the same, the inferior group is destroyed / has to run away.... Green = A Team which has agreed on the simple plan to Attack B and C TOGETHER. If the whole team is in this area (green circle), all ships can suppport each other (Flak, Recon, Focus-Fire,...). And if these ships really support each other, all of them have a higher chance to survive, a higher chance to make damage and exp and a higher chance to WIN the battle. After destroying all enemies in that area (green circle) the team can still go north and take A / kill the rest of the enemy fleet. Caution: Players are still required to keep an eye on the minimap and should NOT chase single enemy ships along the map border for several minutes, CVs should follow they fleet so they can be protected from enemy DDs and planes, individual ships still have to turn away from the enemy when the are recieving fire from multiple enemies and so on. This Teamwork tactic still requires map awareness and active THINKING, it doesn't work with a tunnel-vision lemming-train. ;) . . . Example for this simple teamwork tactic on another map "Fault Line": In the beginning I ask the team to attack B & C first, not many responses but the team does exactly that, ALL (*) sail towards B and C: (*) except one BB, I later asked him to NOT sail to A alone, he turned and helped at B. The enemy team sends 6 ships to the east and 6 ships to the west = we outnumber them at B and C and can easily hold these zones for a long time: = victory through points: Replay Edited September 14, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad
Trigger_Happy_Dad Beta Tester 6,753 posts 7,907 battles Report post #47 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Passage "Domination" often looks like this: The team starts in two separate groups, one small group (4-5 ships) near the "base" (circles) and one big group (7-8 ships) on the other side of the map [rectangular]. If all ships just stay in the area they started it results in two separate battles where a bigger group of ship fights a smaller group of ships.... It really makes sense to unite both groups, the samller group should join the bigger group to have a 12-ship fleet to crush the enemy team which didn't unite.... ;) example 1, Starting West (Team Green: 5 ships at A south, 8 opposite A south, Team Red: 4 at A south, 8 opposite B north): example 1, Starting East (Team Grün: 4 ships at B north, 8 opposite A south, Team Rot: 4 at A south, 8 opposite B north): It does NOT matter if the enemy team captures the base, the game does NOT end in this case, it's just about points, and if your team destroys one enemy ship after the other you will have MORE points then the other team and take their base too! ;) video example, starting east with 4 ships near our base in the north: Replay example 1 - Nagato starting South-West Replay example 2 - Fuso starting North-East Replay example 3 - Omaha starting South-West P.S. This Teamwork tactic still requires map awareness and active THINKING too, it also doesn't work with a tunnel-vision lemming-train. ;) Edited September 14, 2015 by Trigger_Happy_Dad

EsaTuunanen Beta Tester 3,552 posts 8,863 battles Report post #49 Posted September 20, 2015 Here we have example of team playing to lose. (click for larger) Notice that big group hug waiting to get attacked by enemy from multiple directions. So no matter which way they turn, they always show their easier to hit (and penetrate with AP shells) side to enemy and skilled enemy team would butcher them easily. Also they're offering excellent targets for enemy torpedo bombers, because torps missing first ship can hit others in too tight formations. Yes, non-stealthy ships shouldn't attack alone, but other extreme is as bad. Also notice how highlighted Clemson uses islands to block his own field of view, instead of spotting more dangerous enemies long before they could see DD. As result he had no clue that enemy Murmansk and Omaha were getting inside 10 km. So when bare minute later enemy Nicholas spotted him he got his [edited]instantly handed to him. Sure islands can be very effective ambush tool for DDs and especially USN ones. But without knowing what's on other side of island(s) it's more probably you who gets ambushed and sinked by heavier enemy force.
