I play this game for about half a year now, and was asking myself why there is no premium Carrier Vessel (Aircraft Carrier) in the game.

From all other classes there are more enough premium ships.

I think it would be realy nice to have a Premium CV in the game, so you can have all classes rounded up.

For the same reason there are no arty premiums in WoT.

Most people think of Premium ships as money makers, not crew trainers such as those

A CV doesn't need to be premium to make mega cash in this game

Never going to be a tier 8 premium CV tho.

It can be a T2 for me.

I only wanna use it for crew training. (aka Captain Training).

You can use any crew in any premium ship as long as they are of the same nation. So for example my Yubari can take my Nagato crew, and my Arkansas can take the captain of my Phoenix without penalty. So you don't need any specific premiums hip for crewtraining.

So for example... if I bought the Atago, I could move my captain back and forth between it and my Aoba depending on which ship I'm playing with? Or once they are committed to the premium ship they can't move back to the regular one?

You can only place a Captain from a ship into the same "Class" Ships !

So not a DD captain in a BB or Cruiser premium ships, without getting the 50% penalty.

No, you can, no penalty, but all the skills will not be helpful.

The game is still in beta right now. So the focus will be on polishing the tested game mechanics, balancing and preparations for launch, I guess.. Also, I think for them it's more feasible and profitable right now with premiums to focus on cruisers and battleships to attract a wider audience and get more people to play the game. But for the most part I think the focus should be on optimizing the things currently in the game and I'm guessing they already have quite some things in the pipeline for a later stage.

Right now premium ships dont demand a retraining. You can put a DD captain into premium battleship and train there.

CVs earn a lot of experience due to their damage potential which this player here demands a CV to train his captains in. I doubt they will put a premium CV they earn too much XP

I would like to see the Soryu as tier 7 Prem CV,being a downscaled version of its sister,Hiryu

(Hiryu was so heavily modified that was considered an entire separate class)

OP, you need one more voting option: "No, we don't need a Premium CV".

With just two options, you make us choose between "I want a premium CV" and "no more premium ships".

You keep the captains trained for the ship they originally belong to. If you switch them to a premium ship, they can operate at 100% functionality without having to retrain them. As long as you don't retrain him he can switch back to his original ship whenever you want to. That's one of the perks of premium ships: any captain can operate them, they don't require a retraining.

imagine a clueless premium Aircraftcarrier player... versus a same tier carrier player who knows what he does.

massacre

if you got the premium player on your team, your team lost from start.

I dont want to waste the exp points of researching a regular one in case I dont like them. I would gladly buy one though. And the free exp is always nice.

I dont think CVs should be treated any different than other ships. It simply shows that they are somehow broken.

If we get a premium CV, it will probably be some small american escort carrier at tier 4 or 5. Think something like Bogue.

And there's a problem. Premium ships are worse than fully upgraded same tier ships. Difference between tiers for a CV is already very big. Premium difference will probably be relatively big too (compared to other ship classes). CVs are a very important part of the team... Team getting the premium CV would be at a disadvantage from the start.

And finally, loadouts. Other CVs can choose what to run (fly :) ). Premium couldn't choose. I wouldn't be surprised if WG trolled us with 1 fighter 1 divebomber loadout or something else without torp bombers... And such a CV would be almost useless damagewise (at least by current damage standards).
