Yubari is broken.

So, is it just me or did Yubari's turrets get an undocumented turning-time nerf?

That was some time ago, if I remember right. Use commander skill to boost it to 18s.

 

Sadly she is only getting 1 Defensive Fire (unlike the other Cruiser that get 3 charges) so you will have less than a minute of glory - 

Other cruisers have it unlimited / cooldown only. I accept its' limitations on DDs (USN have base limit 2) but not on a AA oriented cruiser. Moreover since she got AA nerf some time ago, based on my battle performance when shooting planes.

The only broken thing in Yubari for me is the damm engine and steering demage everytime a shell happens to impact somewere in you general direction - and no skill or upgrade fix that.

 

The 4th captain skill can help you with that ;)

Isn't that a tier 5 skill? I don't think any of the tier 5 skills are worth 5 points, especially since you need at least 15 points in total.

I am talking about "Last Stand", so your steering and engine will get knocked out, but you will still be able to steer and sail, even though with a penalty.

Hmm Yubari still feels as bad, the one charge Defensive fire hasn't made any difference. Would like to see some people post their replays up to youtube to see what they are doing to get such good games with this thing..... it's nothing like the CBT version.

but then you have to sacrifice a 44% increase in AA gun area... or you won't get camo

Ok, first game with Yubari after the patch ... As if the game wanted to punch me in the face, the very first hit I took destroyed the engine.

In total, I shot down 7 planes and got my engine knocked out 3 times ... so business as usual...

 

The defensive fire ability is pretty useless with just one charge and seems more like a joke than anything else, like "we kind of buffed the only thing that didn´t need a buff, but it´s not really a buff anyway"

 

See you next patch Yubari ...

i'm sorry but yubari is the same piece of crap as it was before the patch.. it's still a paper ship and still useless if it gets matched with anything above t4... this ship needs a serious buff they want it to be viable it t4/t5 and even t/6

... and camo it is ;-) I am playing it as a full support. so hiding behind the BBs or CVs, I do not need camo there. And with the rather long range I cannot be stealthy anyways, plus the torpedo firing arc is bad for anything, especially ambushes.

one game - engine disabled 5 times. Next game at least 3 times. Each game, engine is disabled couple of times. What is going on here?!? They sell us something and then nerf it beyond recognition.

They should have fixed that crit engine damage, it s a cruiser in the game, not a destroyer.

OK, there is a new patch, so I took the Yubari for another spin (or two in that case).

First match: Got both my rudder and my engines knocked out twice. Managed to kill three destroyers, but then died while helplessly floating around...

Second match: First hit in the match took out my engine. I repaired, then actually bounced a couple of AP salvos, but then got my engine knocked out the second time. Repair crew was on cooldown, so I was dead again.

 

I´ll try again after the next patch ...

Half a year later. Yubari is still crap. Thanks WarGaming. This ship used to be great during the CBT, but you wankers managed to ruin it and now you can't even be arsed to fix the most glaring issues with this otherwise fine ship.

Yeah, was a nice ship that wasn't OP then it got nerfed into oblivion. Still don't get why.

Sure, it had the range, but the guns itself weren't that good otherwise.

Torps do decent damage, but the firing arc is abysmal.

AA was very good, but not OP. It was sold as an AA cruiser and got its AA replaced by Marshmallow launchers afterwards.

 

I really don't get it.

They had time to buff that MK range, but Yubari got even worse without AFT range bonus. This ship is by far the worst floating turd in this game.

Took it out today, got 4 kills, 12 aircraft downed, top of leader board, won game on big race by being a bullet magnet for a team that sat in our cap, and I just kept reseting it from a far. Lucky we had newbies as opponents. I had to play it as a support ship, always at the back. Engine/rudder knocked out many times, didn't care as I had my 18 skill IJN DD captain in it. (Last stand). Lucky I guess.

Yes i know its been nerf batted a few times in different ways but i find it still for the most part fun.Im not saying i win that often but i die having fun.Would love them to buff it a bit.

 

Should try get as many Yubari's together in a game as we can??   cant remember the last time i met another one in battle:playing:

.Yes, they are not often seen and I observe closely how they perform when they do appear. Unfortunately its usually not good, especially if they try to push forward. You simply have to ensure you are not the closest target to a group of enemy ships. I sit back and rain long range fire on big slow battleships, set a few fires, and move on to another target. I even got to use my torpedoes today. But that firing arc is so restrictive! I used to love the Yubari. I still do on average 30K damage in it, and the mean average for the ship on the EU server is 23K

I saw a Yubari when in my Gremyaschy today... felt so bad for him, smashing him with citadel after citadel from 10+ km :(

 

I used to love my Yubari so much, really hope it gets a much needed buff sooner rather than later.

I have the Yubari and I actually like it a lot.  It's fast, agile, the guns feel very accurate (all 4 hitting a target at max range is not uncommon) with a nice, long range and I think that the defensive AA fire ability is adequate for its tier - certainly as a tier 4 cruiser with limited MM where you see a lot of new CV players who don't even know what defensive AA fire is, let alone that the Yubari (which is very rare) has it, it can chew entire squadrons to pieces whilst also panicking them.  Yeah, nice ship, I like it a lot.

 

But...the engine damage.  Oh my.  I noticed it was happening more than I thought it should so I bought and fitted one of these:

That's 32 engine incapacitations in just 16 battles even with the -20% chance to incapacitation!  On average, my engine will be knocked out twice per battle.  In five battles it was knocked out 3 or more times.  I know I play it too aggressively, getting in too close, then turning to run with my back end exposed (so to speak!) but this many engine incapacitations?  It just feels overly excessive.  Even in my DDs I don't experience this rate of engine incapacitations.

 

Wargaming, can you take a look at this please?  Maybe without the propulsion modification upgrade that would be ok, but with it?

 

Just a small buff to the robustness of the engine...please.

Get Last Stand on your captain - fixed.

Thing is, the Yubari is different than your common japanese cruisers and needs a different skillset on your captain. AA built with premium def AA is quite troll.

Yubari is my most played ship and I dont find it all that underwhelming that people cry out. Sure it loses engine power ocasionally even with engine module, but that's why I always make sure to use a cpt with LS. The ship isn't well suited for leading the push, it's more of a support ship, and a pretty good one at that.
