How many of you just realized that they were playing against the computer the whole time since they started?

Newbie here. Been playing for like what, 2 weeks now? Just realized that I was playing against the computer the whole time. I played World of Tanks before and I'd usually just click on the "Battle" button to get matched with other human players. Just wanted to know how many of you made the same mistake and perhaps there could be more obvious options in the interface for that in the future. I mean, come on, no human enemy team has such perfect and flawless nicknames like "Romonov" and "Dimitri".

There are enough people who did that... however... when your Account level rised to 2 and more... did you even read the pop-up screen, what that meant? Because at level 2 PVP is explained...

Watched a new streamer this morning, they were also still playing bots at tier4. So you are not the first and probably not the last ;)

Classic mistake made by new people. Might seem stupid and embarrasing now. Later you will laugh at it and joke about it.

Needlessness to say that winning streak is over now that I'm playing pvp..

Well, At start I saw oh, coop, nice, I like coop. Between first 2-3 battles I started to look at ships in teams - was kinda weird - they have exactly the same ships as we. Next, more alarming discovery were nicknames. I just can`t be that ALL players would pick such correct and grammatically correct names. And then I watched some Jingles vids, some general info in forum, etc. It became clear that they are bots. But its good when you really need a victory to calm himself after row of defeats. Ofc defeats happen there too, but not so often. Less stressfull game I`d say. Bots don`t curse you, don`t spam. And act sometimes smarter than some players.

It's allways fun to sealclub the bots when you need a break from random battles. Just be happy that we no longer have the extremely dangerous, super accurate, T-800 bots in coop. They could wreck players back then.

lol i remember those deady Bots. they hit better than players, so only way we could kill them was rush with all of our ships on one and one of theirs or we would wipe

I asked my team mates if we were playing bots after about 10 battles never play against bot since .

well i for one clicked on missions and start battel when i got those ;-) so it switched for me, though i did not know the difference at first, thought it strange that the other mode was so much harder, but next day i noticed that it was bots and thats why it was easier.

 

Nice way to get some easy tiers at first though ^^

Well, as i was used to WoT just clicking battle and that's it i played with both until like st.louis, so i'd say about 30 battles, until my friend joined and we both played bot battles until he saw that we were playing matches with bots and not with actual players, i must say, those most knew how to aim .

Best thing about co-op battles , you haven't got a "know all" shouting "noob" at you every thirty seconds  or some hash tag players slagging the team ....

And yes I too am guilty of overly playng co op at the start, comes in useful for new vessel familiarization though

Hand raised here. It was only when I commented on a thread talking about the 'grind' to earn more xp that someone here pointed out to me that there were two modes of gameplay. As I was clearly playing with other real people in 'Co Op' i had no reason to suspect that the other side were AI and I made the point that this should be made clearer by the devs as to a newbie like myself, it plainly wasnt obvious. Maybe they should re-name it or make the game mode select different. Right now most new people will just see a huge red 'BATTLE!' button and eagerly press it, ignoring anything around it.

Pleased to say as a History nut I spotted the abundance of familiar Admirals names and guessed they were bots so no I didn't fall into the trap of trying to speak to them

I really enjoy doing co-op battles it enables you to get a hang of  a newly purchased ship's weaknesses and strong points.  I wish WG would implement co-op mode for world of tanks and warplanes too

I really not trying to push thread to off topic side, but Jingles in his, last vid about Armored warfare coop battle, said, that bots plays somewhat better than some players, they don`t camp, they don`t hide, they just go and attack you. They actually play a game, instead of trying to abuse it`s mechanics. But I prefer bots only in enemy team, hehe. Always been a coop fan, If I can say that, I would like more missions, secondary objectives to do in coop battles. The game, where a gang of players just shooting each other is not very interesting to me. I salute and encourage WG to add coop modes to all games. And I agree with Jingles opinion that in such kind of battles players learns to play as a team much faster.

Now when you go into random battles you will die like an idiot but thats all part of the learning curve! have fun!
