Greetings,

 

Please find below a list of common questions regarding World of Warships.  This thread will be updated over time to remove questions no longer relevant or to add new questions.

 

Q: Will you have submarines in the game? *Answer updated 12/08/2015 for clarity*
A: We currently have no future plans for player controlled submarines. There is multiple reasons both historically and technically that prevent submarines being added. It's a cool idea but gameplay wise they'd be very slow, very very fragile and fun for no one to play against. - That's not to say "never" as in a few years it may be technologically feasible, or may suit the game direction, however the current version of the game was balanced and designed without submarines being a factor.

 

Q: Will gold and free exp be shared with World of Tanks like it is on World of Warplanes?

A: Currently premium time is unified for our "World of" Trilogy (Tanks, Warplanes, Warships) as are login details, and account names. Information about any further unification between these games will come with a separate announcement.  - *Updated on 19/11/2015 with latest information from  4/9/2015*

 

Q: Any plans to add mines to the game?

A: Currently there is no plans to have mines, this also applies to depth charges (no need as no submarines). 

 

Q: Where is XYZ Nation? Are you planning to add other nations? *updated 06/11/205 to be more clear*

A: Currently we have American and Japanese tech trees. Soviet and German Navy's are being developed side by side and the Royal Navy (British) will then follow in 2016. We also plan to include an Italian and French Navy however we have no set dates we can quote to players as to when they will arrive. It's important for players to understand that modelling a single ship can take anything from 3 to 7 months and we can only work on so many nations/branches at once. Furthermore getting accurate data on ships is not as easy when many are either at the bottom of the ocean or were cut up for scrap.

 

Q: Will you integrate all 3 projects in one battlefield.
A: Nope. We have no plans to do this.  Tanks won't do much against ships shooting at them from 10-15km out. It's more likely we may have some tied mechanics in Clan Wars. (A hypothetical example could be that you capture a coastal area in World of Tanks Clan Wars, it gives your Clan a small bonus in World of Warships).

 

Q: What classes of ships are planned for the game?

A: Aircraft Carriers, Battleships, Cruisers, Destroyers.  - We have no plans for MTB's (Motor Torpedo Boats), Monitors or other small ship classes.  There may be variants of Cruisers such as Light Cruiser,  Heavy Cruiser and Battle Cruiser, however each ship will always fall into one of the four main categories.

 

Q: Can I rename my ship? 

A: For now it's not planned, we are adding more and more options for players to personalize their ships via systems like flags and camouflages.

 

Q: Can I lock my guns in different arcs? (Like front guns to port and rear guns to starboard?)
A: This is not planned to added to the game, turret control applies to all turrets at once for main batteries.  Secondaries will always be AI controlled.

 

Q: Do you plan to change the ship sinking animations?

A: Yes, things like explosions and possibly blastwaves are planned. We want to have a good variety of ship destruction animations. When you detonate someone's ammo, everyone within visual range should know about it.

 

Q: Are you going to balance XYZ ship or ABC class?

A: Balance is something that is always going to be ongoing as more content is added in. If there is obvious spikes and trends for certain ships, nations or classes then we will make adjustments as required. Please understand however that we need to gather statistics and feedback over a certain period of time and the changes will come with a content patch.

 

Q: I want to play with more than just 2 friends in a division

A: Additional team modes are planned with more players able to join as a team. More info will be available about this pretty soon.

 

Q: When is XYZ ship coming?

A: When we're ready to share information with players about future content, we will all do so at the earliest opportunity. Giving time scales for future content isn't always possible as there is so much that can change from now to any quoted date. The last thing we want to do is give players a date and then not be able to deliver. 

 

Q: Are you planning to add premium ammo to the game?

A: This is not something we have any current plans for. We're happy with the selection of choice between AP and HE and it's situational use depending what you're shooting at.

 

Q: Will there be a wipe going from Open Beta to Release?

A: Nope, we have no plans for any future wipes.

 

Q: I completed a ARPEGGIO OF BLUE STEEL -ARS NOVA- mission and I don't see my new ship. Where is it?

A: Please make sure you have

. The Ars Nova ships are only available when using that port/game mode.

 

Q: I have been team killed, what can I do?

A: Although we have an automated system, you can submit a ticket to customer support with a replay and the time remaining in battle when the incident occurred. Tickets without replays will not be accepted. You can find out how to activate replays here.
