The penny has finally dropped.....

After yet another frustrating day of a 9 game winning streak followed by a 14 game losing streak the penny has finally dropped.

No matter how well you play if your team consists of numbskulls and nutters you are going to lose.

First 9 games has an average of 1123 base xp per game, 3.11 kills and 90k+ damage across my tier4 and 5's, one game had a 6 game terminator streak in my Clemson... muwahahahahahaaaaaa, I felt like I was contributing and actually having an impact on the game.

Next 14 games, I did slightly better, 1148 base xp 3.14 kills and 93k damage, everything was in vain, in the last match 2 BB drivers beached themselves in the first 2 minutes and got torped by the CV's and DD's, so 2 nil down, next 3 of our Clevelands go for a group hug and race each other into what I can only describe as an alley and meet a wall of torps coming at them.... 5 nil down, then the bitching starts, like anything other than a brain transplant could help these people. Previous to that I have CA's launching their 5.5km torps at targets 12km away, that is when they are not launching them at me or friendlies directly in front of them. A division mate had a Kuma unload on him less than 100m away... his excuse.. "I thought they would miss you"..... you cannot make this stuff up.

So I was extremely lucky in my first 9 games to be in the teams with good players and then extremely unlucky to be in 14 straight games with absolute muppets.

So, no point in trying to win, no point capping, no point offering advice, just play the game, sink a few ships and get on with the next game, if the MM has looked favourably on me I'll win, if not then I'll lose, pretty much bugger all I can do about it.

The penny has finally dropped.

Harrier.

Usually its not the game at fault. Its the players themselves.

All the talk of ....BB's are under powered......CV's and Torps are Overpowered etc. It is not nearly as bad as some people make them out to be, sure everybody hates to be torped, or hates to be nuked by CV.....or curses at the MM. However, i curse more at the stupidity of people, seeing them do things that only a complete retard would do. Funny enough, these are usually the people that start to cry and [edited] about certain aspects of the game in the forum. It makes me want to lose hope in the average IQ statistic of humankind.

If u are sailing straight at 5 ships, and not notice u are severely outnumbered....and then [edited] about being raped.....well...... time to go back to school.

If u see DD's somewhere in your vacinity? U should expect torpedo's heading your way.

If u notice planes coming your way. U might want to divert course in the direction of allied ships so they can support with AA.

However, what seems logical to most people, seems to be illogical for [edited], thus they continue on their merry way, not trying to avoid/divert/change course in the hopes to survive the oncomming attacks, either by air or sea.

Stuff is overpowered and underpowered depending on the people playing the ship. Almost every single OP thread i have read from CBT into OBT is blown out of proportian and usually the fault of the OP (granted situations may occur where instant death is unavoidable, however these are rare). Usually, the OP is blind to their tactical ignorance and brushes the majority of comments off as "statpadding whore's" resulting in 1 side that is slightly delusional, and 1 side trying to talk reason into a illogical person (Do note that im not talking 1 on 1 here, it usually results in 1 against 100).

All in all, tactical insight is what is killing this game, not the OP stuff u see in the general section.

I'm sorry for your rough games, but unfortunatly it happends to the best of us. I do think it gets a little better at higher tiers (finnaly upgraded my cleveland yay!) and there seems more coordination at tier 6 compared to tier 4 and 5. Your mileage may vary though.

2nd; VICTORY (Furutaka)

3rd to 7th Defeat (various ships)

So .. yeah.. :D

Average XP somewhat dissappointing 794. :-/

Been eating torps alot. Got sunk by own ones in the last battle.. I think I will call this a day. :D

I think we should enforce a rule that after 5 losses in a row you stop playing and go grab a beer to chill out. :)

yep, this game is 100 times more a team game than a omg look at your personal stats game. The sooner people learn this the better off we will be.

I don´t mind losing, the problem comes when half your team are a bunch of turkeys.

The last two games i did (which we won) i started the game by saying "stick together and work as a team"

i think i´ll keep doing that from here on.

Most of the crying is from people trying to solo in a team game and then finding out it doesn't work.

DDs can sort of solo (but MUCH BETTER with teamwork) everything else gets raped solo.

I platoon with a good friend of mine and he is a good player

Good player + good player = great games for the most part.

Some times when we grinding horrid ships can be hard to carry a team.

But in a dd squad we normaly have a start plan and a back up plan and try to support each over.  Work out who is the danger guy and try get them out of the game.  Thus far seems to work as got a good wr and played some great games to boot... and if we do lose tend to still do very well xp and cred wise.... happy days.

HarrierUK, you had really unusual luck there. 23 games and no draws!

I know at times like this it feels that you have little control over whether you win or not. But keep playing well and you will win more battles than you lose - in the long term.

All you can do is maximise your win chances by:

Playing more battles in the better ships than the not so good ships

Playing as few battles as possible in stock ships

Playing as many battles as you can in divisions with other good players

Playing as well as you can in every battle

WoW in a nutshell!

And the best proof that winrating is an absolute useless stat...

Once you get good enough to start getting teams consisting of subhuman [edited] you'd see how much "fun" that is. Especially when you get 10+ teams of those in a row...

Dosnt bother me that much.

Its all about what you expect.

If you expect good teamwork across the most games, you come to the wrong place.

World of warships is a mainstream arcade game, no more, you cannot expect that level of teamplay to ensure you the wins.

Get in a division with 2 others, and its all much better. Its easy to find good players in game imo.

Getting in a division changes almost nothing - you'd still get the retard teams and you will still lose no matter what you do. Only difference then is you have a buddy to vent with, nothing more. I can tell you haven't had such streaks yet - once you do your attitude will most certainly change somewhat, that I can promise you

I get your point.

But listen. What online games, puplic servers with random teams do you get the level of teamplay you wish for ?

I disagree, a divsion of 3 can have a big impact. Set objectives together for the division and try to co ordinate that with rest of team, this is totally possible. Etc seeing the majority of your team attack one side, then our division defend og go oppesite side to attack/defend.

What does the win or loss really matter, if you do well in a loss you still can earn very good XP. its a win anyway. i must have over 1000 games by now, i dont even know what my win/loss ratio are, and so what, if i have 70% losses, that dosnt make me any worse than someone with 70% wins, not at all.

I remember back in the days of playing Battlefield 2 alot, if our team was to dominating and our win seemed to be going to easy, then i switched team to try and turn the tables against the odds, and sometimes it worked out. The biggest adrenaline rush comes when you have the worst odds and still do good, i aim for that.

Easy victorys is a waste of time, a good battle with a loss is much better.

But that's the problem - you don't get a good battle - it's just a massacre of clueless sheep and then you are overrun by the enemy swarm... Sometimes your own team kills you before the enemy team manages to do so too... Battlefield was a different deal entirely - a squad of the proper classes could hold a corner of the map by themselves + respawn on the leader = fun (especially in the US transport helicopter, he-he-he). There is nothing of the sort here - just mind numbing stupidity that has you wondering how did these people even manage to turn their PCs on in the first place.

Yeah BF2(and mods) was a blast. But that game series is ruined by EA games now.

Try to look at this, it got me pretty hyped and it deffo looks a very high level of teamplay going on.

PLus its not EA or any other pos company behind it.

- Answer to first post -

Dont worry, most of the pubbies and crybabies coming from WoT will eventually bail out cause this game is much slower and mistakes can have much bigger impact in it. Give it a few weeks or so, it will smooth out.

Looks promising but I've learned not to trust promises anymore. Not after investing in some "promising" titles only for the devs to screw up along the way and deliver dead-born games at best. One can hope though - miracles do happen :coin:
