DumbleDerp Beta Tester 659 posts Report post #1 Posted July 21, 2015 Ahoy! Not sure about all of you, but I've seen a lot of side scraping happening in this game at lower tiers. Typically BB's sitting behind an island, poke their bows out, take a shot and then full reverse back behind the island. I've seen this tactic work in the amount of.... never times, because inevitably this happens In this case the BB got some early warning and managed to get going around the island to dodge (while destroying the DD in question ), but in soooo many other cases people doing this are just giving kills away. By all means, use cover as and when you can, but a stationary target is an easy target and an easy target is a dead one. Thoughts?

DumbleDerp Beta Tester 659 posts Report post #3 Posted July 21, 2015 True, I've seen cruisers do it as well. They tend to have some speed to get away from the DD's but still just a crazy tactic.

DumbleDerp Beta Tester 659 posts Report post #7 Posted July 21, 2015 I didn't see it during the whole CBT to be honest, hopefully some of the newer players might read the forums though and battles for BB players *might* improve

Thlurp Beta Tester 463 posts 1,731 battles Report post #11 Posted July 21, 2015 i do sometimes tend to stop right at the end of an island, so i can only see one enemy and in return only one enemy sees me. although i don't stay there too long as i know how dangerous it is, being a DD player myself this peekaboo game is brought over from WoT and it just doesnt work here, you will see it in the future for quite a long time i suppose

DumbleDerp Beta Tester 659 posts Report post #13 Posted July 21, 2015 Well just think of it as an easy kill hehe and hope they are not on your team ;) mostly that's how I notice them, but I've had my guns trained on the edge of an island in my Cleveland with a BB who wanted to play peek-a-boo - it didn't end well for him. Distract the BB, let the DD do his work. Mwahahahaha
nibiru_star Beta Tester 117 posts 365 battles Report post #14 Posted July 21, 2015 I love it when people do that, makes such a nice target to shoot at. It's a learning curve, i think many people will try many tactics and stick with what works. Like said before you don't see it much in higher tiers from tier 8 and up. Nethraniel Beta Tester 1,739 posts 1,782 battles Report post #18 Posted July 21, 2015 I see even some dd's do it. Peek-a-boo shooting or just stopping at island edges? Because at island edges a DD can wait for the ambush torp spread. With smoke and engine boost, a DD has good chances to get away with it.

[OP-B] bathoz Beta Tester 77 posts 4,723 battles Report post #21 Posted July 21, 2015 The only class that can't really take brutal advantage of the stoppers are cruisers (well, low tier cruisers without super-heavy 8" AP rounds). DDs torp them, carriers are in manual drop heaven and BBs just see the citadels.
