[SPURD] woppy101 Beta Tester 613 posts 10,606 battles Report post #1 Posted July 17, 2015 Does anyone else feel like they are playing less Than in CBT? I was quite late into CBT(end of April) but managed to complete the IJN BB Line and the U.S. BB and Carrier line and really enjoyed playing, I felt that the MM balance was quite good and had a good balance of players at all levels, I am prusuming the MM problems were the same at the start of CBT as they are now? players that grind quickly to get to the top and then everyone else following up. I think that's why I'm not playing as much now (30-40 mins a day) and can understand why people are whining(including me sometimes) about MM because it does annoy you when your in a tier6&7 and get pitted against tier9&10 and then get shredded in less than 2 -3 minutes, has anyone else went the same way at the minute? I am in no way saying I am rage quitting like some other people, I think this is one of the best games to come out in a long time apart from a few things that need changed HE,HE,HE lol but I think I'm going to take a few weeks away and let a few more players get to tier 9&
[NIKE] Xevious_Red Beta Tester 3,412 posts 7,888 battles Report post #2 Posted July 17, 2015 Im not playing any less, I just descided to play multiple lines at once so I didn't get stuck in tiers where there is either no players, only noobs who bought tier 8 or the pros that got to tier X in a day and a half. Therefore I'm playing all the lines at once (or at least will be when I unlock some carriers), and therefore currently highly enjoying tiers 3/4/5 without needing to cut back, or getting put into derpy matches
[TSUN] Aerroon Community Contributor 2,268 posts 12,140 battles Report post #3 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm playing less, because when I read the forums and reddit I see many ignorant opinions that seem to completely miss the most crucial balance issues in the game. On top of that most of the games are super boring since I'm playing a slow battleship usually and if I'm playing in my carrier the whining that happens in some of those games is just disheartening. On top of that I've played this game for thousands of matches already, and other stuff is taking my interest much more. The youtube stuff is probably the only thing that still keeps me to this game. If I didn't make youtube videos about it I probably would be playing PoE in full force right now.

Mister_Greek Supertester 1,046 posts 4,551 battles Report post #5 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) There is definitely a problem on the lower tiers (economy, grinding etc). I almost threw the towel in the Kawachi and the Miyogi,it was just too frustrating to continue. After that dissapointment i play a bit less but i sincerely think as the above commenter said, that the OBT was rushed....There were serious problems, in the MM especially....It should be given a month or two more.... [__] Kais_S012 Beta Tester 742 posts 1,694 battles Report post #6 Posted July 17, 2015 im playing less than I was in the CBT now I put in maybe 3 or 4 evenings a week into playing. making the mistake of grinding like crazy in WoT360 and war thunderPC meant that when I managed to get my grubby mitts on a closed beta code, after the first week of playing I began to limit the amount of XP I would grind per day so i would hopefully avoid starting to get tired of the game. I now aim for around 5K per day but I am starting to struggle to motivate myself to continue the grind... other than the kongo there are no ships in either line I can sit here and say "I want" I prefer my cruisers but aside from getting back to where i was when CBT was wiped I'm not pushing for anything new
Orree Beta Tester 145 posts Report post #7 Posted July 17, 2015 It's weird...I've played like 1 battle since last Sunday. I really like this game, but I seem to have gotten a bit burned out, having played about 800 battles in the past three months. I think part of the issue for me is the increased XP requirements and the avg. length of battles. I don't have the kind of time needed to get to the upper tiers ad the task just seems daunting. I've gotten to one Tier 6 ship (Cleveland) and tier 5 in the other CA line (Fruitykaka). I'm not sure I have the stomach to grind through that thing and it feels like I'll be in the Cleveland a very long time. I've gotten to Tier 4 in the two BB lines, but have stalled out due to not playing much this week. The one battle I played was to finish the South Carolina and research the Wyoming. I just don't think they took the battle length factor into account well enough (if at all) when they jacked up the XP requirements for ships and tech tree upgrades. Orree Beta Tester 145 posts Report post #9 Posted July 17, 2015 You might be right...it's hard for me to remember grind times in WoT because it was two years ago or more since I was really grinding anything in that game. I just "feel" like this is much slower going and it seems like more of an up-hill climb. The shorter games in WoT might be why it felt that way...dunno.

I've already come across many players who regularly get mad and abusive and use the "i'm an alpha/beta player and you are a newbie who knows nothing Jon snow". Venatacia Beta Tester 872 posts 5,885 battles Report post #14 Posted July 17, 2015 Playing a little less than in CBT but not by much. The grinding really does not bother me in the slightest, no rush for me to get to high tiers. Never was in WoT and I only have 2 tier Xs in over 3 years. I'm playing this game with my brother (in our 40s), we team up and Skype. So that helps a lot to share an interest together. I'm not overly excited on which ship line to go at the moment. In CBT I got to tier 9 with Japanese Destroyers / Tier 8 Japanese Cruisers / Tier 6 Japanese BB / US cruisers 7 / US BB to tier 6. In OBT I'm at tier 5 DD and tier 5 US Cruiser and now I'm struggling on where to go next. Probably go BB in both lines and see what happens. Things that annoy me at the moment are the H.E shells. The CV torp planes with there torps that pop up when its to late. Ok'ish in fast turning ships / not ok in slow turning ships like the Arkansas beta. Getting spotted outside my detection range when there is no DD or plane around. Lastly as always the lag spikes, the freezes and the lag that takes your aim 30 seconds to change target or even aim in the first place. All that aside I still look forward to playing just not on Tuesday or Wednesdays every week, battles go dire on those days as they do in WoT.

Siegwald Beta Tester 299 posts 3,637 battles Report post #17 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm playing about the same amount as in CBT. But I agree with some here in that I'm not very interested in tiers >5 at the moment. I've brought IJN DD and CA up to 5 and am working on US BB and CV right now. I think I'll slowly continue to advance in all four lines evenly in order to stay behind or with the main wave of people advancing through the tiers. That seems... prudent, given the reports from higher tier gameplay. I've not even touched my Sims since the wipe.
Bortasqu Beta Tester 939 posts 14,845 battles Report post #18 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm playing less as I now have hit the wall with income versus outcome at tier 6. Grinding the Warspite to gain credits just seem wayy to grindy for my taste, comparing to WoT where you just had to play 3-4 battles and you could atleast buy and MOUNT tier 6 modules like a new hull for the Aoba costs like 1 million for some reason here. [SKIDZ] Scarebird [SKIDZ] Beta Tester 176 posts 16,764 battles Report post #19 Posted July 17, 2015 Surely the object of the game is to play the ships you have and not to plod through each one just so you can research the next one. If that's all you are doing then yes it's going to be a grind and no fun. I'm enjoying the ships that I currently have and that I can unlock another ship when I have enough XP is a bonus as far as I am concerned.

Akula971 Beta Tester 1,059 posts 14,838 battles Report post #22 Posted July 17, 2015 Playing about the same, but that is under review. I'm very disappointed that they have not addressed a fundamental issue in match making such as fail divisions. I mean just how difficult is to write code that does NOT allow a tier one ship to get into a tier four/five match? The quality of play and chat in CBT was by WoT standards quite high. But now in open beta, the trash talk in chat is terrible, and the game play quality has suffered too. Tomorrow is Saturday, shall I play WoWs or do my accounts? I'll have a few games late evening and thats that. I don't like how they have nerfed some premiums like the Yubari. I really feel cheated. It is my bad luck ship, no matter how well I play, its defeat after defeat in it. I must stop playing in it. I do fear that we will see, with the arrival of the Russian tech tree some bias as we see in WoT (making historically poor vehicles as good as historically good ones in the interest of "Balance") . In which case I'll stop grinding and just play the same ships over and over again. For this reason and the poor quality of game play in WoT I stopped playing it completely. And we already are seeing the cheat mods appearing.......sigh Once Fallout 4 appears, I'll be gone for months. I still play New Vegas a lot, more than WoWs
mtm78 Alpha Tester 19,378 posts 6,105 battles Report post #23 Posted July 17, 2015 I play less, mostly because CBT with inflated economy meant I could test some tier X sheeps relatively quickly so that's what I did. I know which lines I want to play and that was a big point in playing as much as I did. I also played less due to personal circumstances, but the former definitively plays a role as well. ttchip Beta Tester 441 posts 1,160 battles Report post #24 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Played a lot in the first week after the reset. Right now, playing high tier battles feels like a chore and none of the mid tier ships seem to tickle my pickle. Also, I'm quite fed up with failplatoons like these: When your repair/resupply bill upon death is >160k, having your team gimped by a couple of tier 4s really does impact your chances of survival. This is basically what most platoons are in high tier matches. The rest are those tier 10 CV platoons you really cannot do much against on your own - especially when matchmaker decides you totally don't need tier 10s of your own to beat them. Edit: Sorry for posting basically the same stuff in two separate threads. I really needed to vent a bit. Edited July 17, 2015 by ttchip
