Dodgeball54 Players 3 posts 1,481 battles Report post #1 Posted July 6, 2015 Japanse Mutsuki tier VI DD, is worse than it's predecessor in every way. This makes me very sad, first I play 3 days too unlock next tier ship, then find out it is not as good as tier V. How can this be? Shouldn't ships get better higher up the tiers? I don't know what to do....should i grind like 200 games with a very weak ship? or just buy back minekaze and have fun at the game....
VonVolks Beta Tester 372 posts 820 battles Report post #2 Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) correct. But the Hatsuhara and Fubuki are great! Also NEVER sell your Minekaze. Play it when your Mutsuki is sunk, and you need some fun! Edited July 6, 2015 by VonVolks
[MIMI] MudMonkey Beta Tester 1,338 posts 8,356 battles Report post #3 Posted July 6, 2015 Well, it is as you have said. It is bad. I would even say its horrible. Just keep the Minekaze and keep grinding the Mutsuki if your really wanna go up the ranks. Because I personally think that you will have the most fun playing the Minekaze. The mutsuki isnt bad..........it is .........If you dont like it, you will be dissapointed by all the next ships. Its main advantages over the Minekaze are its higher damage torps , harder to evade torps (triple launchers) ,. All the rest isnt........better.

Dai2 Beta Tester 347 posts 686 battles Report post #10 Posted July 6, 2015 Why is it worse? (not there yet) Mutsuki is bad because : 1)It is slower then the minekaze 2)It is less manouverable then the minekaze 3)The torps reload slower then on the minekaze 4)It is spotted from 6.1 instead of 5.9

[UNICS] Nechrom Beta Tester 4,870 posts 10,112 battles Report post #12 Posted July 6, 2015 After the Minekaze the only thing getting better on the IJN DDs are the torpedoes. The actual ships sometimes get worse. I like the 127mm guns though starting with the Hatsuharu, if I can get them facing the right direction.

[UNICS] Nechrom Beta Tester 4,870 posts 10,112 battles Report post #14 Posted July 6, 2015 (Shimakaze has 80 000 hp engine) But the actual speed upgrade is marginal at best, compared to the Minekaze that is. The Shimakaze is the only IJN DD that is a definite upgrade from the previous DDs. I actually enjoyed sailing the Fubuki and Kagero, but it's not a fun progression line when almost nothing gets better for >500k XP.
[ST-EU] Lightbaron Supertest Coordinator, Alpha Tester 1,807 posts 13,100 battles Report post #15 Posted July 6, 2015 Mutsuki is bad because : 1)It is slower then the minekaze*snip*4)It is spotted from 6.1 instead of 5.9 To 1: I don't understand why they needed to nerf the 39.6kn top speed she had in the CBT. It might be a ballancing decision but it is one I don't understand given the advantages of Minekaze. To 4: Mutsuki has the same detectability as Minekaze of 5.9km. The one with 6.1km is the t4 Isokaze.
[PRAVD] Takeda92 Weekend Tester 3,802 posts 8,478 battles Report post #16 Posted July 6, 2015 Also NEVER sell your Minekaze. Play it when your Mutsuki is sunk, and you need some fun! I'd suggest Isokaze better since she has better turrets. Don't underestimate those guns you can even kill USN DDs if ambushed!

Its main advantages over the Minekaze are its higher damage torps , harder to evade torps (triple launchers) ,. All the rest isnt........better. for elite torps2k more damage but with double the reloadand only 2 kts speed difference, hardly better. As for stock torps it is completely worse in each aspect except 200 more damage. I have no idea why a 610mm torp is that worse than a 533mm!
[DUDS] Crooq_Lionfang Beta Tester 1,999 posts 6,434 battles Report post #18 Posted July 6, 2015 Mutsuki really feels like a huge step backwards. The Hatsuharu and the Kagero.... some people say they are bad, others think they are quite ok. I'd call them both "acquired tastes". Had good successes in both in the CBT, but not in the beginning, it took me quite a few frustrating games until I started to figure them out somewhat. Had good successes in both in the CBT, but not in the beginning, it took me quite a few frustrating games until I started to figure them out somewhat. Hatsuharu suffers mainly because of the change of playstyle from the previous ships. Suddenly you are less maneuverable and less stealthy; getting closer to enemy is much more risky. Her armament improve over the previous ships her torps however not so much because you still have 6 of them that reloads more than a minute and good-but-not-fantastic speed. Kagerou is the other way around. She can be more stealthy that Fubuki and has better torps (although reload slower) but her guns are much to be desired since you get the same guns that turn slower, making this ship a one-purpose-only glass cannon that either work greatly or terribly. VonVolks Beta Tester 372 posts 820 battles Report post #20 Posted July 6, 2015 Yeah I have to say I didn't get the Kagero having the same guns but worse of the Fubuki... I never got to the Kagero "Long Lance" torps tho
Figment Beta Tester 3,801 posts 10,499 battles Report post #21 Posted July 6, 2015 One of the most important statistics for a DD is detection range and torp reload speed (dps). We took Minekazes into tier X battles and they killed some tier X ships at times. The amounts of torps per volley is not as important as torp density is (chance of passing through in between). It helps, but experienced players can easily evade your torps from ranges over 4.5km.
[PRAVD] Takeda92 Weekend Tester 3,802 posts 8,478 battles Report post #22 Posted July 6, 2015 Yeah I have to say I didn't get the Kagero having the same guns but worse of the Fubuki... I never got to the Kagero "Long Lance" torps tho Well historically they were worse elevation wise. It is something I only learned recently too. That's why Kagerou guns are not DB guns (making is even worse) but did those turrets turn slower than Fubuki's? I got the idea that there isn't information about turning speed difference between the two, so WG must used it as balancing stats! Maybe They should just introduce Yuugumo class and Kagerou can be a tier 8 in the second line? at least they will get DB guns that will turn as fast as Shimakaze's and Fubuki's guns! Nothing else is different!

[KLLCV] Exustio Beta Tester 508 posts 5,264 battles Report post #24 Posted July 7, 2015 Well, in CBT the Mutsuki was beyond awfull, and by the sounds of it, it hasnt changed at all. Free exp seems the way to go imo, or at least use it on this ship to partially push u to the Hatsuhara.
