Agantas Players 1,059 posts 7,793 battles Report post #176 Posted February 18, 2016 Just hop into your South Carolina and remove the St. Louises from the game manually. The green St. Louises will be on the red team another day, so you don't have worry about them.

[FILO] Pete_SB Beta Tester 335 posts 4,017 battles Report post #178 Posted February 19, 2016 St Louis is from another era. Originally a protected cruiser (Armoured citadel reinforced by coal bunkers) then added extra armour on the sides of the ship. You cant compare the old coal fired ships as they used their fuel for protection. You certainly wouldn't use an oil fired ships fuel for protection, but they gained lots of speed, easier refuelling/logistics for going to oil. The St Louis and other older ships were from a pre dreadnought era, the game kept changing so fast back then, so thats why such a different mix. Imagine, HMS Dreadnought is launched, and the pride of your fleet in now floating scrap. Now introduce oil power. Whoops, thought I had the best battleship. Well in game it makes not much difference unless you use coal to protect your citadel, but in real terms its a huge advantage, faster refueling, easier to transport, more energy per square metre. If and when the game can do logistics these things may be balanced out.

I can't actualy believe you're seriously answering to this guy : was clearly a troll (lol, tiers X ) But yes, st louis is maybe a bit strong (not op) for its tiers, same as ther aurora (premium coutnerpart). Jane's of 1908 was very scathing-' comparitively little fighting value'! Love mine - brings a smile to my face!

Jane's of 1908 was very scathing-' comparitively little fighting value'! Love mine - brings a smile to my face! Quite, by the standards of her time the St Louis was a very poor armoured cruiser. A typical French or British cruiser of the era would have made short work of her...
[TACHA] triumphgt6 Players 1,870 posts 22,592 battles Report post #182 Posted February 22, 2016 I have had an appalling day in the St L. Can't win to save my life! Won in everything else and I am normally not bad in the St L but lost everything in the St L today! Also in far more tier 5 battles and the loss of range is a pain! Sticking to Warspite for the rest of the day!
Poster_2015 Players 695 posts Report post #183 Posted February 22, 2016 St Louis is already gone. With AFT gone (and BFT as well dropping the firing speed), its a strong tier 3 ship while commanders rank up. It definitely is not the "newbie sealclubber" to use with 15 perk captains . Also, as there are fewer veterans at T3, you will likely - as you've noticed - be low tier more often. Edited February 24, 2016 by gr0pah

Good explanation! Think of the joys awaiting those new players, as they finally step into the big wide world at Tier 4 - and immediately get thrown into a tier 6 game with their stock Karlsruhe, playing against fully-upgraded Fuso, Cleveland, Aoba, Anshan etc (also with highly trained captains).
