I had been pleased with the Yubari during CBT, not great, but the overall balance was ok. It is likely just perception playing tricks, now that I have more battles under my belt I probably play more aggressively than I did previously, which doesn't suit the Yubari as much as a multi turret platform like Murmansk, which I feel more confident playing. corpDemon Beta Tester 85 posts 4,005 battles Report post #3 Posted July 3, 2015 nope, yubari is crap now (goodbye AAs, hello endless crits). sims is just as crappy as it ever was-it had t1 guns and typical US point blank torps. smoke nerfing hurt ALL US DDs
Thlurp Beta Tester 463 posts 1,731 battles Report post #4 Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) i'm glad i took the gremlin, still plays pretty awesome while the torps have decent range but are pretty slow, the guns have insane range and rof, only downside are turnrate of guns Edited July 3, 2015 by Thlurp

Sims is still fine, but the higher tiers will lack the needed number of players for some time to have fun with it. Atm you're only facing other Sims, lots of Atagos and some Warspites....

Large calibre shells are now doing splinter/splash damage to modules on very near hits. I believe this was in the patch notes (& my Yubari's rudder can also attest to this). I believe this was in the patch notes (& my Yubari's rudder can also attest to this). This is probably bugged though. As its a new change I highly doubt it was done correctly first time. The reason I say this is because I have on a handful of occasions now had my rudder or engine damaged critically but taken zero hull damage in the process. And the shells in question were near miss shots, and clearly did not actually strike me as I took no damage. This has happened in both DD and CA, so there is some sort of issue with the effect. Ships should not be getting crippled by near misses.

Maybe the the two things in your post are related, as all AA turrets have individual hp pools. If they are destroyed, the game will write a warning only if ALL the guns of the same calibre are destroyed.

If this is the first time you logged on since the OBT start, you will need to wait a while as it syncs your account to the server with your purchase details and activates it. It should arrive in around an hour tops. If it does not, please contact support directly.
[V888] Shagulon Beta Tester 413 posts 32,694 battles Report post #24 Posted July 3, 2015 US DDs I find very hard to play now. This is after taking the US DD line up to Fletcher pre OBT. Smoke changes hit them hard, very hard.
TheJezna Beta Tester 790 posts 1,808 battles Report post #25 Posted July 3, 2015 Like several people already said, USDDs are harder to play now. Much harder. Several reasons really, but the biggest seems to be the smoke of course, the nerf to small caliber HE damage, affecting USDDs the most (and a buff to BB HE damage so you are almost guaranteed to be instakilled if hit by it) and also to a degree the buff to BB close range accuracy, making ambushing a BB even more risky then before. Then of course we have the undocumented feature that modules like engine and rudder seems to be knocked out ten times more easily which is a real problem: losing either of those is a disaster and is basicly only survivable if you have either repair up, or smoke so you can just smoke and come to a dead stop and hope they don't get to close. Fact is, as things are, playing any USDD is only a good idea if you don't mind getting obliterated frequently and want a real chalenge, anyone who wants a class that is competitive and will reap quick rewards should stay far away from them. It can still be a fun class to play though, and the feeling of acomplishmet when having a great game in them is priceless.
