[SSPNG] Remi_Drexel Players 204 posts 1,962 battles Report post #1 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) A lot of people really are very nice and helpful. But sadly a majority of games that I am in someone gets abuse shouted at them, or someone rages in chat because of either stupid mm, terrible teams, or because they are both bad and angry and decide that they should blame everyone else for their death. Also for the love of all that is holy cut the typical WoT player stuff out, it is pathetic. I would bet most people in the game currently play or have played WoT, and people are throwing it around like an insult. Stahp it. Now on the subject of WoT, the fact that I played for so long meant that I was able to build up a rather sizable blacklist. And I think I would rather like to do the same in warships, yes I can report people for being a complete donkeys rear end in chat, but I would like to stop seeing it all together if possible. I know it will probably come eventually. Lastly I know nobody will take any notice of this, for one reason many of the people it is aimed at don't even read the forums. But guys, can we please try not to make the game look like is has a community that is 10x as toxic as LoL is often said to have? It is going to really negatively impact peoples opinions of the game if the first time they play and mess up they have someone telling them to go and die of various diseases. Elgerino Alpha Tester 967 posts 5,971 battles Report post #2 Posted June 30, 2015 Trust me, this community is not as toxic as LoL, let alone 10x as toxic. That said, expecting a large gaming community to be nice is totally unrealistic. A thicker skin will serve you well here.
Jackobite Beta Tester 46 posts 4,887 battles Report post #3 Posted June 30, 2015 I suppose a thick skin will cover most of the chat in WoW but its sad to see the start theres a few "have a nice game" and then later Im seeing noobs and rubbish team comments, and wtf is the lemmings comments all about? the biggest noobs are the ones soloing and then crying they got beat up by 5 ships because no one helped Lots of nice people play and alot of quite skilled players but it saddens me to see abuse being thrown around. Yeah unfortunately noticed over the last week or so it seems to have started to get a bit worse I just don't pay any attention to them as if you can't stand losing that much why even bother playing

And honestly when I played LoL I encountered maybe 1 or 2 tixoc players a week, maybe I got lucky but here in warships it is quite literally 75% of games. It's not as if this sort of thing hasn't been around for a long time, in every game where other humans can be encountered.
Wizlon67 Beta Tester 42 posts Report post #7 Posted June 30, 2015 Must admit CBT has been really relaxed in chat, I logged into WoT for the first time in a while last night and chat there as always was extremely venomous. Hopefully WoWs won't end up like that.

And honestly when I played LoL I encountered maybe 1 or 2 tixoc players a week, maybe I got lucky but here in warships it is quite literally 75% of games. LoL has MMR system. If you are good you will play with good players. People with plat or above usually don't rage so much as they want to win. On high plat games I almost always was meeting nice people who were supporting my out of meta playstyle, even on ranked. There are expections, but usually great players with whom often I had instant understanding of each other playstyles without saying a word in chat. It is easier to be nice to someone you know is as good as you.On the other hand low MMR is a cesspool as it is filled with players who think they are better than they really are. This game does not have MMR so you will meet both types of players and most often those calm will be silent in chat as they just want to play. What can you do about? Nothing, pub games will be toxic. I hope we will soon have full 12 divisions vs 12 division games. Edited June 30, 2015 by Ishiro32

I think after so much use of the ignore function I might have filtered out quite a few serial ragers Also when that feature comes to WoWs it will be a lot better since all you need to do is block them before they irritate you too much. [TWF] Bushpanther Beta Tester 131 posts 23,946 battles Report post #15 Posted June 30, 2015 Toxic chat will remain a feature in a game like this. My personal philosophy is to ignore the abuse but not the chat. Be a positive counter-weight by helping out ppl in chat and make the occasional compliment where it's due in game. After all, ignoring chat and leaving it to the toxic commenters is not gonna help the overall admosphere.

I used to try, but seems nobody in chat speaks english.... by try I mean: try to talk with my team about tactics and warning them. Once in a blue moon you have people responding. Romu Alpha Tester 65 posts 906 battles Report post #20 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) i find the community for the most part to be very respectful and communicative.sure you'll meet on occasion a dude that seems like a 10 year old on crack that'll blame his failings on his team but other then that i think we have a good bunch so far ;)i love to talk & mostly trash talk with humor and respect in all my games and i've never had a real problem with anyone so far. at the end of the day it's just a game and if you point out to them how ridiculous they are with respect and comedy most of the time they'll just shut up and move on ;)i think we have a decent community with many passionate people about history and naval combat, i don't see it becoming toxic to the extent of most games with HUGE communities that are pretty young.Lets just all have a good time boys !About the chat being useful, i find that if you try to connect with people about other subjects in the early game (when people are getting in position) they're more likely to respond to querries and suggestions when things get real. At best 33% tend to react but it's better then all playing ffa ;)Well its my view of the matter after a decent amount of games in alpha and to a lesser extent beta. This is realy sick. I gues you already made a ticket. I can understand that you where realy upset about it. Next time (hope it doesn't happen again) please keep your cool. There is no excuse for what he wrote, but it is always better not to be offensive back because that will only encourage him. It also looks better when you report somebody and you can't be blamed for anything. If customer suport doesn't act on it, you could try to pm MrConway. This person deserves a severe punishment. If someone writes this idiotic crap to me I'll agree with them, smile and laugh "along" like I don't get it. It really winds these people up. Or bait them for more. Or ignore them. Depends on my mood. They won't get what the want from me though - which is often attention. If I realise it's just attention they want they get "" and that's all.
