If I truly spoke out I likely would get perma-banned but I mention one thing; Why, after all these years has WoWS failed to sell a dedicated clan flag slot? I'd buy 'that'.

After all, they have this website in St Petersburg that contains hundreds of clan flag designs (from all the servers) which were 'approved' there.

From the ones I perused, I saw nary an objectionable design but, ofc, after all this time, Wedgie has blown that monetization opportunity.

I'm already speaking out against lootboxes and RNG purchases in general, which I think is the most egregious thing in this game. The RNG daily missions are the biggest reason why I'm playing WoWS instead of WT. I don't need that frustration on a daily basis.

I see grind as a lesser evil. At least when you buy premium time or a premium ship, you know what you're getting, and WoWS has been good about minimizing and compensating downtime. Not to mention giving it out for free, regularly. I'm just coming off all the prem time I got from the free Santa gifts.

War thunder is apparently going down the drain. Just look at that monetization scheme and how they tried to rework the economy to milk their playerbase even harder... add miscommunication, ignored feedback, the works.

Now, I don't play war thunder... but why does this all sound so oddly familiar to me?

We do speak. But we are getting ignored.

Even we get silenced and banned in twitch if even dare to call their scams out.

So, The last couple of years (after the Makarov shitefiesta) I stop giving them money. I am completely free to play costing them money to host me in their Esports ready gambling machine.

And whos fault is that? players who buy that. Would they sell something that nobody buys? No. But whales keep buying and buying and they keep selling and selling. Players made this situation where companys earn money on us, beacouse we allowed that. But you cant stop a kid with mommys wallet to spend.

In just a second. I first need to... ohhh! Supercontainer, hell yea!! 0.00001% chance to get Makarov! Let me go buy more boxes! Durrrrrrrr!!

What you didn't get yours "by random chance" yet? Strangely enough I got mine in a "random crate" shortly after Makarov day passed. Probably completely randomly chosen ship!

As long as we play, we are actually useful for them, even being not paying a single euro.

I have been playing WT for almost 3 years (arcade only, like WoWs, and rather casually), and I haven't delved into the economy in both games because players like me are pretty much unaffected by all but the most outrageous "eco warfare". In both games, I am in for vintage vehicles, which are commonly found in low to mid tiers. While the grind in WT appears to be more extensive (there isn't just a B hull or a couple of modules per vehicle, but considerably more modifications and an entire crew, not just a commander), I had no trouble to get what I wanted and to be able to afford repairs and ammunition. Reaching and maintaining the comparable tiers in WoWs is fool-proof, I daresay, despite the eco rework. So, I guess, the complaints are mainly coming from high tier afficionados or hardcore "must grind all trees to the top" nolifers. Making people pay for endgame content, while letting people enjoy F2P in the low to mid tier range? I'm totally ok with that. Eco reworks are my least concern in most games. Usually, it's bugs, balance issues and additions of completely unsuited content and mechanics. Watching KotS with a complex matrix of banned ships and ship combinations, not to mention entire classes, and even then only a handful of different ships being played... if this is not because of obvious balance issues, then I don't know. And in WT... I stumbled across an air battle tournament on YT recently, and pretty much every single plane in the lineups was a MiG-29, with the very occasional F-16. Balanced, I guess. :Smile_sceptic:

Well, you can also play wows in the trash tiers only, if you so choose. Clubbing bots and seals all day long and probably entirely for free, too.

But I assume the desire to do so is rather the exception the norm - here and in war thunder - so let's take that as the basis for discussion.

Nah, that would be TX and T*. And I am fine with...

Zitat

...losing credits while trying to play there.

As someone poking WT as of late, economy is... ridiculous and every tweak was nerf to income/raise to repair cost/both. To "financially break even" in hightier Aviation you need to score at least two kills and win the game, or three kills at defeat. And I'm talking about equivalent of a tier 9 constantly fighting supershits :cap_tea: While said "supershit equivalents" (Mig-29, F-16, F-14) are cheaper AND earn more... unlike WoWs, why in the world you would play anything lesser?

Wargaming and their economy tweaks are staple of f2p friendliness in comparison.

Difference is, Wank Thunder as of late gained A LOT of players due to, I dunno, some IRL events that keep mentioning modern military hardware, just recent batch of economy changes were straw that broke camels back

Except low/midtiers are similarly to WoWs, rather depopulated.

Progressing through ww2 hardware is rather quick, grinds sets in HARD once you poke past ww2 era. And I mean both RP (exp equivalent) and SL (credit equivalent). "Great" game without premium account in tech tree vehicle is something between 6-10k RP. To research single hightier aircraft/tank/ship, you're looking at 300k to 400k RP. And keep in mind, you need to research and purchase 6 vehicles before you can progress to next rank :cap_tea:

Balance in WT always was optional and its usually pendulum, swinging back and forth to... encourage grinding and premium sales :cap_tea:

WT always had a very harsh economy.

That is why I usually stuck to my full researched vehicles and advanced extremly slowly.

Back in the day that worked fine without spending money.

Well let’s see if they have any luck, WOWS playerbase seem too submissive to be able to do something similar.

True. But, fortunately, I don't really care for post-WW2 stuff, with some rare exceptions.

This is the singular most annoying thing in WT... having to buy stuff which I will never play, just to get the vehicle I actually want to play. All those Magachs, Shots and Tirans which I had to buy just to get the Merkava. Not that I enjoy playing at those high tiers, but I just happen to like Merkavas and wanted to have one. :Smile_teethhappy:

So far Gaijin posted announcement of "prioritizing economy", with initial draft being supposed to be posted in three weeks

I know, I know, actions speak louder than words:Smile_smile:

Well, I've got bored of flying props, didn't liked ground and navy is... uh. Initial venture into jets in 2014/2015 territory kinda made me quit, as US Navy jets (F9F Panthers back then) proved to be... fodder for Sabres and Migs-15. At least I've unlocked B-57 jet bombers, which proved to be boon in 2023, when I've made a comeback.

Reason being, with B-57 and bombers in general you have steady rp stream from bombing bases and ground targets, thus I've got myself F-105D Thunderchief. From that on, once shock of... interacting with Premium Thunder at 10.0 bracket subsided, I've got myself steady grinder which enabled me to progress through Navy jets quickly (by WT standards). Sadly, to get to F-14 I need to research and buy half of the other lines to even start working on F-14 :cap_book:

Sadly, only premium aircraft I've bought got uptiered AND fallen out of meta, so to say, which makes difficult to earn SL with it. And I wouldn't mind picking up other one, but I'd prefer to see actual economy changes beforehand. That or 50% discount that wasn't present earlier.

Speak out about what?

WoWS has monetisation, but it's nothing like War Thunder's.

The WT players are complaining about the way the game economy has been structured to make the game as obstructive as possible to basically force people to pay. That isn't the case with WG.

But you did notice the recent changes in WoWs, or are you living under a rock?

What changes to the economy were made recently that were particularly onerous?

Il y a 6 minutes, Cuddly_Spider a dit :

Economic bonuses rework, overall end of round income changes, and indirect nerfs like superships (made to spend credits, not gain credits), captain rework adding A LOT of farm to get a 21pts. The research bureau could be counted as some sort of nerf since it needs regrinds in order to get stuff that was way more easy to obtain before.

Those are not as bad as warthunder, but WG is really trying to nerf the economy overall.

Personally, I don't really care about WT economy because... I don't think it will really affect me. I play the game for World War 2 stuff - what I want to get to are Tiger I, Panther, Bf-109 and Spitfire. Other than that? OK, Leopard 2 would be fine, but that is literally the only modern-era vehicle that interests me. And I assume a lot of other players are like that.

So if people are boycotting the game - I know I am - a lot of them, I imagine, are doing it on principle.

What @AraAra_My_Ass_Is_Blasted wrote plus:

Buy a Hood" for 100m, early access events for literally hundreds of millions of credits, Lighthouse events, battle pass, T10 ships for cash for trash players and so :etc_swear: on.

I used to run full flags on everything - that alone isn't economically viable anymore.

They're trying to bleed the resources. Oh so slowly. But the obvious intent is to make you spend real money in the end.
