Maybe you saw it maybe you didnt, WoT is bringing new pay thing to world of tanks. Recently we saw an edition from WoT called battle pass which you need money to buy and have. We gotta ask ourselfs is this new thing will come to WoWs, paying additional 9 dollars per month for all those perks and even using a premium vehicle or a ship? How is this free to play game now when you need monthly money to enjoy a lot of benefits? There is almost nothing free to play in this game now.

So I ask you what are we gonna do if this thing comes to WoWs? Currently battle pass is not that strong or mandatory but that can change, also new players can buy their way too much faster to the end game.

When we will say enough is enough?

Here is the news from WoT:

WoT Plus
In Update 1.20.1, we’ll introduce a special monthly subscription: WoT Plus. It will provide you with new opportunities and unique bonuses that will make your gameplay experience more comfortable.

After activating WoT Plus, you will get instant access to the following benefits for a whole month:

Gold Reserve. All players with active WoT Plus subscriptions can earn up to 500 per week. It will be accumulated in a special vault that will open once per week.
Extra excluded map. All WoT Plus subscribers will have one more slot for map exclusion. If you play with WoT Premium Account, you’ll be able to exclude a total of three maps. Play on the maps you enjoy the most!
Free equipment demounting. You can demount equipment of any type for free (including improved equipment but excluding Experimental Equipment at Upgrade Levels II and III).
Intensive Crew Regimen. You can select a vehicle whose crew members will each passively receive additional Crew XP, regardless of whether you are offline, in battle, or just in the Garage. No cooldown is applied when changing the vehicle whose crew receives the bonus.
Exclusive rental vehicle. After activating WoT Plus, you’ll instantly find in your Garage the unique TS-54, a Premium American heavy tank featuring a double-barrel gun! This powerful vehicle will remain on your account as long as WoT Plus is active. Another cool feature of the TS-54 is that the tank can accommodate any American crew members, no matter which vehicle type they come from, so long as their major qualifications match.
To activate WoT Plus, head to the in-game Store and select the "Best" category. It will cost 300.

This purchase method and the current cost are only available during the Common Test period. After the release of WoT Plus, you'll only be able to purchase it in the Premium Shop for real money for the price of 8.1 euros.

We plan to further develop the subscription based on your feedback and needs. Join the Common Test to test-drive the brand-new TS-54 and try out other WoT Plus bonuses!

dont panic, wows is developed by lesta who also runs wot in ru, and afaik wot+ is not coming to wot ru yet ..,

also, wot+ is about €8 which is roughly the value of these 4*500=2000 gold

bad thing with wot+ is the dismounting of bond equipment (3000-5000 piece) which costs otherwise 200 bonds

bonds are rather difficult to farm in wot

It basically amounts to whalebait for new players. Yes, scummy, but not aimed at me.

did you see how far did Diablo 4 go with monetization and prices? WoT and WoWs are aiming at something similar.

Wot is a coma game. New players or non paying ones, heck even those who payed 2-3 times for premium account or premium vehicles or maybe some lootbox are screwed. Is not a game about skills anymore, just who has the more OP premium/reward tank with bond equipment and 5-6 or even more crew skills wins.  Who pays wins more, who does not or does not pay enough suffers, just a piece of meat to be pleasured at the hands of the tryhards untill that meat will run out and the tryhrads will be facing other tryhards...and then it quickly wont become fun.  Wot is a hostile game towards new players. Its problems can be solved, surely but that requires a different mindset than that which created them in the first place and the will to do so.

Sure, we had this Gacha game discussion already. Yes, Diablo is the scum of the earth and I actively support a political solution to these scummy and exploitative mechanics aimed at the weak willed and weak minded. Untill then, I simply refuse to be that stupid.

This is not as horrible as it sounds, other implementations have hurt WoT, the playerbase and the game much more, including the season pass and exclusive clan rewards, which put a high emphasis on widening the gap between new players and players with many resources even further. WG tried to pull out said resources with auctions, but the whales have so much stored and just keep on whaling more. Some claim WoT to be P2W, but it is actually P2StayCompetitive, as you start losing out on effectiveness, the second you cant economically support it, which in itself is just not time effective anymore.

WoT Plus is basically their own Amazon Prime goodies, without Bezo's cut of the profits, the benefits are small, the vehicles mediocre, but please keep spending money.

The wot playerbase is vast and guaranteed there are sufficient halfwits who'll opt for a measly 8 euros a month to feed WG's greed. If wot is a game you love, then fine. At some point everyone will have to decide what their threshold ratio is for money vs fun. As it stands I'm bored with Wows now and got bored of wot a long long time ago. The entire WG formula is boring, but they don't care because it's new players they want and new players bleed money.

WG can put whatever they whish, for me 1 single decision stay: wallet closed. Reasons: subs, supers**ts and one-sided mm. If there is no fun, then why should I whish to buy anything? No. Honestly, I even play less and less and it is actually matter of time when I will gone forever.

WOT I don't play and I don't have any intention to play.

WoWs is a FTP game. You do not need to pay IRL money to play, or to be given advantages.

However WoWs is not a "Free to develop and maintain game" so some profit has to be made. So far I have no problem with "pay for early access", "pay to complete dockyard", "pay for battlepass". I will not spend money of any of these, but have no problems with other doing so (as it helps to keep the game alive).

I just choose not to spend money at the moment because of Sub implementation, SuperShips and CV domination. In the "old days" I would gladly pay for premium time and once in a while for a Prem Ship...... but not at the moment.

WoT+ would sell like hotcakes in WoWS IF.... instead of blocking 3 maps we can instead block 2 classes of "ships" we don't like.

So long CV and subs!! Whhhooooya!
