[DLY] Gammatech Players 50 posts 594 battles Report post #1 Posted March 11 Hello! I've just started the game, and I'm finding that the vast majority of ships in my matches are bots. Is this designed as a part of the new player experience, or are there too few players to fill the slots? The activity on this forum seems nearly constant, but I'm lucky to see two other human players in the game itself.

Click on in and you'll be presented with a choice of different mods. The people you are looking for are in "Random". (though the smart ones stayed in Co-op )

[VIBES] tocqueville8 Players 3,717 posts 39,400 battles Report post #4 Posted March 11 If you're playing Coop (anchor in a blue circle), it's going to be humans (+ bots, if there aren't enough humans) vs bots only If you're playing Randoms (anchor in a red circle), it's going to be humans+bots vs humans+bots. As a new player, for your first 200 games and unless you start playing Tier 5, you'll be in a special "beginners' matchmaker", where the only humans in your matches, on either team, are likewise beginners. Because there are few beginners, more slots have to be filled with bots. Corollary: playing Tier 5 in Randoms can be a bit of a cultural shock, as you go from stomping all over bots, with the occasional newcomer to provide a bit of a challenge, to having to deal with a lot more, and much more experienced, real people. I'm glad you cleared this point up for me- I couldn't understand how the forums and streams of Twitch could be so plentiful, yet the actual number of players in-game to be so small. I was hesitant to become too invested in the game while there were so many bots, but now I'll wait and see if it improves after a couple hundred games. Thanks for clearing it up for me, appreciated! ^^

[DLY] Gammatech Players 50 posts 594 battles Report post #7 Posted March 11 Thanks again for the info. I picked up the cheapest Tier V I could find, and already having a lot more fun with player-filled matches! I particularly liked this little escapade, the team mate even got away and survived the match! The only reason I knew what that white streak across the water was on my ally, was because of information the community has given me.
[TACHA] triumphgt6 Players 1,870 posts 22,633 battles Report post #8 Posted March 12 It is a shame lower tiers are so sparsely populated as the ships can be fun and you can learn a lot about positioning and aiming. WG made the progress far quicker than it used to be and benefits are largely confined to T5 and above. I think the best games are usually at T7 or 8 as long as not permanently up-tiered as the game remains quite open with less cowering behind islands as range of guns means that most ships need to get a bit closer. However it is a fun game so I do hope you enjoy it. I see you have the Russian war canoe - a very silly ship! Great fun to play but the lack of anti-sub tools is a slight hindrance. However the guns and what seems like endless torpedoes makes for an entertaining time!
