measure in °C

Why would you want to measure in anything else? Only a few 3rd world countries use F. And K is a bit clumpsy for everyday use.

Money, being smart and a scrooge all comes in one package.

You can even try to melt your finnish sauna and measure in °C

True but wealthier people tend to spend more on their hobbies.

I only speak Dutch, German and English. I'm afraid they won't be able to understand me on the NA forum.

I guess some british and americans like F instead of C, as they likrdto use miles instead of kilometers, and gallons instead of litres. Maybe the metric system has not yet reached the English speaking countries?

I'd some luck this weekend with a SC through one of my 150 unopened boxes, in which I found 5000 Doubloons.

Since it's free (in this case) I got myself a few of them bundles - missing just 125 tokens at this moment which I will be able to get throug the missions.

In theory, I could have the boat today as well so it is even possible without actually paying (although i used 5k free doubloons) to get there faster.

I guess the ppl we now see boating around actually did pull their wallet, or maybe some got lucky (i'm also missing FXP atm due to regrind for RB points).

Otherwise I would have been able to have it too, with those bundles

Its also mainly them that keep everything else nice and shiny, you dolt. I highly doubt we´d have much of a game (read: if it would still be around at all) if everyone would go full free to play on this.

Plus there are people who like subs and cvs and gimmicks. And judging by the average mix of ships in battle quite a few.

So, yes, in all honesty: thanks to everyone who spends some money in this game.

Dont know why you got your panties in a bunch .... "you dolt", I just told you to thank them....?

Also, there is a big difference in supporting the game by buying dabloons, premium time etc etc or to support WG crazed drug vision by purchasing gimmicky ships, premium OP subs like Alliance with heat seeking torpedo's or OP/broken Carriers with money which of course inspires them to have even more crazed BS visions of ship they can sell to easy to fool whales and soon we wont have a game left to play because we will all face invincible ships with cloaking devices and lazers..... because that what we have funded.

Why do WG keep creating more and more gamble things ingame? Because some players keep on throwing money at it, so then we cant really complain what this game is changing into.

If no one buys the BS ships for money im guessing WG will stop making them. I think WG would get even more funding if they actually listened more the the playerbase and continued to evolve the game with more "normal" ships, nations and lines without all this fantasy/OP/Broken BS.

People can do whatever they want with their money, but dont let anyone catch you complaining about any BS WG will think up in the future then. Because we paid for it.

This sounds a bit like "People can do what they want as long as I approve it".

Also, exaggeration and or spreading false info does not help your case. Never has, never will. I will not waste my time correcting you as you damn well know what´s what.

"Heat seeking torps" :Smile_teethhappy:

P.S.: And you really wonder where the "dolt" came from? Oh boy.

Nope! Just the fact that's its quite stupid for some players to complain about the next 10 stupid/game breaking/OP things implemented into the game after have financed the last 10 stupid/game breaking/OP things implemented into the game. You know ... like the saying .... "You reap what you sow"....? Thought you might get that, but my mistake.

I also thought you might understand that I didn't REALLY mean HEAT SEEKING torps but going by what we have seen of Allience torps and their RIGHT INTO THE HULL HOMING, they might as well be "heat seeking"

I will make an effort in being clearer to you in upcoming posts.

No, I more wondered who the "Dolt" actually was....

C for temp

miles, yards, feet and inches for lengths,

stones and pounds for human weight only, kilos for all other weight,

pints for beer and milk only, litres for the other liquids (water, wine, petrol etc)

petrol/diesel is measured in litres, but everyone (including cars) calculate fuel consumption in miles per gallon. :Smile_teethhappy:

And after 20 years, you get used to it. Everyone laughs at me when talking about mpg and every time trying to convert lt per 100km to mpg.

mpg makes more sense. :Smile_veryhappy:

I suppose it depends on who you consider the pirates are : Brisbane players or WG :Smile-_tongue:

Can also be a generational thing too - my parents often used Fahrenheit, but then would switch to single digit / negative Celsius values when it got cold.

Depends on context as well.

For "everyday measurements" and guesstimates I use inches / feet for length & height, eg

  • I'll plant those flowers around 8" apart
  • Snow is a couple in inches deep

However, for anything scientific / engineering its always metric.

So, the only thing that can be concluded about Brits with weight & measures units is that we're consistently inconsistent.

Or is that inconsistently consistent? :Smile_hiding:

We also like to harass Americans for their weird date formats, their phobia of the word "thousand" and their puny billion. :Smile-_tongue:

And then you get fluid measures.

14 fluid ounces to a pint vs 1000 ml to a litre which also (handily) is the volume of 1kg of water.

I always thought it was a shame that pint of water didn't weigh a pound and that there were the same number of ounces in a pound & pint (so 1 fl oz of water would weigh 1 ounce).

Though the date format thing is nothing to do with Imperial measures - that's purely an Americanism.

Celsius : Logical scale at which Zero is the base level

Kelvin : ** ahem ** :cap_cool:

I think you just summed up the English in about the most accurate 2 sentences ever produced. I applaude you (I say English, because the Welsh, Scots and Irish... Well, I got a weak spot for them)
