Anyone wanting the T8 need to buy the 1000 dbl bundles unfortunately.

I came to the same conclusion. Its enough to cover everything up to and including the bonus package for Sturdy, but not the vessel itself. Then again, not too shabby if you ask me.

I will get the T6 and T8 with free xp (what else are they good for) for my collection. Don't care about sub missions for tokens. 

 

I'm surprised WG wants upto 62K doubloons for a T8 premium sub the Alliance.

We'll see how far i get for free, but i won't spent a single dime on the most hated class of all (especially homing only bullcrap subs...).

 

The one(s) I do get for free will be port queens, just like all the other subs i have.

I'm not: the bulk of the submarine enthusiasts seem to lack some key critical thinking capabilities (with a few noble exceptions), so why wouldn't WG rinse them? Got to keep the lights on...

 

I imagine Alliance will be the first thing to fall out of next winter's Satan Boxes though, before I get anything decent that I might be missing, so no need to spend now.

Last time WG offered both the soviet and IJN subs in the random bundles, so was much more "generous".

 

Got both later in the Santa containers, so probably end up with Alliance this Xmas too. 62k doubloons gets you 60 mega Santa containers with some spare change too!

I imagine there are a few factors in play:

• Last time, there was presumably pressure to produce 'results' in terms of customer engagement with submarines, and the more generous premium boat offer would have been part of that.
• Alliance is a museum boat, which people from - theoretically - a rich server might be more interested in (if the submarine implementation didn't blow goats, I'd have bought her on day one), so perhaps lessening the need for 'extra value' in the bundles.
• I get the impression that WG are going through one of their periodic exercises where they reduce the value on paid-for content, to try and ascertain at what point people stop spending.

I did actually look through the bundles that include Alliance, but the 'other' stuff isn't nearly valuable enough for me to open my wallet; I'll wait until Satan Boxes. Who knows, they may even have made submarines less carp by then...?

Does anyone know the (permanent) Bonus Package cost for tier VI, VIII and X subs ?  I just can't find out where to look it up.

Uh, sorry, I just figured it out:

• VI:       900 dubs,
• VIII:  2.900 dubs,
• X:     4.800 dubs.

It is 4800 for the T10, and probably 2900 for T8 and 900 for T6. The previous Permacamo prizes were 1000/3000/5000 but the cost for the first Permacamo is now separate.Bonus prizes are depending on tier not ship type.

Is it just me or do the British ones seem a bit meeh on paper? No hard hitting shotgun torps like the rest of the nations, only homing which can be dodged more then the shotgun ones and also mediocre damage. Only bow no aft torps....... I have a hard time finding the "Pros" of this nations subs.

RN subs seems to be pretty stealthly and got a good concealment. Best dive capacity. Looks like T10 improves in torpedo DPM too

What you may not know is that the Alliance is currently GROSSLY overpowered, with greatly increased torpedo homing and maneuverability.

 

In its current form, Alliance basically has underwater stinger missiles.

  

 

Once WGing has harvested as much money as possible from whales gambling to get Alliance in the RN subs early access bundles, then Alliance will be nerfed into mediocrity, like all the other whalbait WG uses to fleece the uninformed and apathetic.
