(don't have her) Nope, she shoots fine. Her sigma is same as DM and the cruisers, and max. dispersion as battlecruiser is worse, but really not that much. At 16 km, DM has 143x86 base dispersion ellipse. Alaska would have 182x104 baseline, -7% gives you 169x96. For comparison Iowa would have 200x101 with the even with the special USN module. People give her bad rep because bad rng will screw up a volley. But people don't take note of those volleys while in DM because you shoot every 5s.

[FJAKA] Port_Authority Players 320 posts 22,649 battles Report post #54 Posted March 6 Really can't wait for the release :) I think it's going to open up new variations on battleship play. Major power factor will be smoke firing penalty. If it remains tied to the gun caliber this thing could directly support DDs. The USN CA gunnery allows you to constantly damage targets regardless of angling. At 15 km ranges you can choose whether to HE spam or AP lob mid an angled battleship for damage. On something like Montana HE is weak and AP lob is susceptible to rng dice roll every 30 secs. Fast cruiser gunnery makes exact aiming easy. Normally a BB should risk out something like time, health or both to get to the crossfire to get the juicy broadsides and alphas. Illinois will prefer absolutely different positions. The ones you hate when you find yourself in them yielding a normal BB. However, if you find yourself in Illinois with a bunch of apes on the other side "crossing your T" you'll cry you didn't q in a normal BB :) On the other hand you don't want to emulate any cruiser or battlecruiser play because you have a battleship hull. If you emulate DM/Salem you will do too much damage from safety. Your position as a BB in queue is to take potential damage in millions. Etc. It will be a new thing, in between. If it comes out like I predict I highly applaud this direction.
