You can put the articles side by side, and there will be no difference other than the wording. Season 18 rewards have were actually smaller than the current ones. They were increased according to player feedback if I recall correctly, to more closely resemble the rewards before the economics rework. As for the seasons before the rework, season 17 for example, the rewards then are comparable to what we get now. We get way more steel, but less boosters, but there's also the fact that those boosters are extremely rare and basically can't be gotten anywhere else for free (with the exception of tournaments). Cause in the past there was 30 days of premium at the end of the rewards chain for storm and there was an option to take 15k coal. Now there's no such option.
