Here is the HTMS Thonburi-class coastal defense ship built in Japan, equiped with 4x 20cm/50 3rd year (same gun used by all IJN heavy cruisers). And saw actual naval combat against the French fleet during the battle of koh Chang in 1941.

I'm glad you guys are adding new low-tier ships for a change, especially a T3 since those are so rare nowadays.

 

But why, of all things, did you attach this to a coupon that costs a minimum of 50 quid??? T8 ships costing 50 is already excessive, why is a T3 ship costing that price? You do understand that, if you make it cheaper, it will sell more and will generate more money right?

1.) There´s nothing "predatory" about this, its as straight forward as it can get.

2.) Its not some ridiculously high priced bundle with stuff you might not even want, its an extra you can get if you buy some dubs - which themselves can be applied to various other things you might want to have now or later.

 

Guess for some the glass is always half empty. And yes, I´m not naive, I know WG ain´t just the nice guys here, they wanna make some money. But for me and many others the way they do this with Ning Hai is actually better than offering it seperately for a price.

I get the dubs I would have bought anyway and get a nice little ship on top of it. For me, this does actually qualify as "nice things".

 

Sorry if this doesn´t work for you or if you truely are the half empty type.

I don't understand this... I mean, it is not the first time WG does a sale like that, in WoT they bundle low tier tanks with gold, nothing wrong with that sale method, but over there the tanks they throw in to sweeten the deal are rare or OP ones that are no longer on sale.  If WG had put something like the tier 3 Vampire, or Konig Albert in the bundle then it would be a good deal, but for a mediocre tier 3?! Eh, still free stuff you can grab if you plan to restock on dubs anyway.

No, of course not. In example 1 you´d be an idiot and in example 2 you most likely would take the hat, because, you know, its a free extra thats usually not a part of the offer. Similar to one little T3 ship I heard about.

 

Either you guys are pretty damn dumb that you can´t see the difference or you just enjoy complaining a little too much. As I said, this is not a perfect deal - but better than some other offers they had and despite what some of you try to make of this: if you buy certain stuff you get Ning Hai as a FREE EXTRA (aka something that usually isn´t included in the selected package). Nothing more, nothing less.

Don´t wanna buy the stuff, don´t do it. And if you really just want that little ship... if you really are that hung up on one T3 vessel... whats wrong with the 12500 dubs it comes with? Are you having so many dubs that you don´t need them? Isn´t there anything you might wanna get for dubs while you´re at it?

P.S.: It´s also very possible that at some point Ning Hai will be available for direct purchase, probably in the Armory for something around 2900 dubs. You don´t have to pick her up on the current offer, you can just wait and see.

Actually, that Mercedes - hat comparison is incredibly stupid AND way off.

 

I did a little math here. So the cheapest dubs pack that grants you Ning Hai costs about 40 euros. Now, while Ning Hai has no individual price (yet) lets assume she will fit into pricing for that tier, so something around 3 - 4 Euros. For the sake of this example we´ll price her at 4 Euros.

 

This means Ning Hai basically represents a bonus value of 10% to the dubloon pack.

 

If I now look up the cheapest Mercedes (the A 160, priced at 21000 Euros) this means the aforementioned "baseball hat" would have a value of 2100 Euros. Now, show me just ONE person in this world that would reject a free 2100 Euros extra when they come to pick up their new car.

You won´t find one, cause noone would be that stupid. And noone in their right mind would even think about complaining.

 

 

The only people that would complain about such a deal would be entitled jerks with at least too much time on their hands. And the only people who honestly say "Oh damn, I have to buy an A 160 to get my 2100 Euros value thingy, how unfair and greedy by Mercedes" would just be idiots who´d be laughed out the door everywhere.

I guess the analogy between a Mercedes with 12,500 doubloons and a ship with a baseball cap was transparent. That is, in the classic example of a Mercedes and a baseball cap, the latter was just a nice addition to the main purchase. And in a particular situation, the emphasis is on the ship (that is, on the baseball cap) and the "favorable" condition for obtaining it, when, in order to get a miserable tier 3, you have to buy a rather strong amount of doubloons, which you may not need at the moment. In my (I hope, and not only) opinion, the difference is obvious.
