[CREEP] DeletedUser [CREEP] Players 0 posts Report post #1 Posted February 5 Wise one please teach me how to win this game of yours. I've been playing it for some tine now, but I still can't win. I frequently finish first or second on the losing team and i have more defeats than wins. I'd like to finish those missions that you impose on us in which you have to win and sum up some base xp, or win to advance in ranked. I alone can't compensate for noobs. OH! mighty one I beseech you to bestow on us with your wisdom. 3

One can win matches and I seriously doubt that you do not manage that.

Without sabotaging the matches in a division, it is impossible to lose all matches. Do you want to tell us that you are sabotaging the matches?

Karkong_the_Impaler Players 2,983 posts Report post #6 Posted February 5 If you are - on average - losing more than you are winning, you ain't gud. It's a you issue, no matter where on the scoreboard you are. For example, if you're camping on the J line, flinging HE all game, you might score high, but you still are ineffective and a liability to your team. I personally can't recommend yuro enough - check his "how to" guides. Some are outdated, though: https://www.youtube.com/@Yurobeat Also, the forum isn't only for bitching, there are a lot of valuable hints and advice available. Some players post replays, that's also a good way to learn how to play a ship more effectively. Positioning is often key, more so than the difference between good and perfect aim. 6

OH! mighty one I beseech you to bestow on us with your wisdom. Rule #1 rapidly grinding up to high tier is a major mistake, nothing wrong in staying low.. it gets harder the higher you go. (note: I'm just an average player at tier 9 and potato at tier 10.. but have nearly 60% wr at Tier 5... it gets harder at higher tiers) Rule #2 early caution in games aids your survival.. not sitting at the back, but cautiously going forward, i.e. I had a match recently where there were 5 enemy Radar ships, I was in the UK T9 DD, so I snuck up on the nearest island to the cap, and made sure when I was spotted that I would at least be partially protected from incoming shell fire. Enemy DD charged straight into the cap, I spotted it opened fire, and 5 seconds later I could hear the barrage of shells aimed at me hitting the island, I took half his health, and my team mates did the other half of the damage from my spotting. I was then able to cap with ease (and by that point all the Radar positions were known), I still had 90% of my health. That kill was pivotal to our winning the flank and in turn the game. Rule #3, you are playing against people.. try and think what the captain of that enemy ship will do.. anticipation is everything, it's difficult to do if you've never played their class of ship. As Karkong_the_Impaler said, watch youtube vids.. I used ichase's "captains acadamy" youtube videos to get me going (now dated), Flamus vids can also be good.. he did one recently on T5 ranked using the kamikaze which was excellent (yes it's overpowered, but translates to other torp DDs). I also recognised some classes have more impact that others, and some are much more dependent on team mates. Personally I would say you should play DDs,CLs,BBs and CVs, up to tier 5 or 6 before going any higher. I would grind the UK or US DDs lines to Tier 5/6, all cruisers are similar to about tier 5 (made entirely of citadel).. for BBs I'd pick US or Japanese.. And yes, I'd pick a CV just so you know what it's like on the other end of the air cancer. (CVs are recognised as overpowered.. WG are not going to change this.. we need to play around this problem) Mods.. some mods are daft, some are extremely useful.. I find the Autospy map mod essential as it allows more information to be shown (like Radar ranges, I have enemy Radar in bright yellow so I can never miss it), and I can manipulate it to tell me what I need for any one class or game (i.e. show AA bubbles during CV games.. as a DD player knowing where CVs don't want to fly aids my survival) Finally... when winning Don't try to win harder, this often leads to losses, know what is required to win by points, time, etc.. you don't always need to kill all the enemy team.

[FJAKA] Port_Authority Players 320 posts 22,655 battles Report post #9 Posted February 5 If you didn't hide your stats we could give you tips what ships to play in current meta. From your post I don't know what kind of player you are. If you're around a WR but stuck unable to increase it , in overall classes, minimum 1000 games on high tier : 60% - track the meta ships/OP divs all the time, rotate T9/T10 and play during the mid day if on EU server and prepare for a grindfest (it's not worth it) 55% - divisions, matchmaker monitor, don't chase bad ships of their team but look if you have good random teammates in yours. Try to communicate with them. 50% - get a clan with people you can play together with, watch streamers and youtubers and start memorizing the relevant details about the ships themselves. And when I say divisions I don't mean my buddy and I drive German BBs around, I mean get a triangle division where each of the players tries to play the class correctly. Bring your own spotting, fire support, consumables and big BB guns. Recent proof showed us that bad division is worse than bad solo players. Do not gimp your team by bringing 2 bad DDs with 2 bad DD players that go to the same objective.

I do not think that you have right to complain if you are not even able to achieve that. Personally for me more important is how many times I was first on a win. When you are bottom half you have been carried (unless differences in XP are marginal). Show us how good you are by showing highest XP on loses from both teams, and first places with a margin on wins, otherwise just "git gud"
