Bigger smoke, more space to maneuvre, and less likely to eat a torp wall since they're often launched as soon as you smoke up. I think I would've noticed, but nope Using UU on Zao, Harugumo, Atrocious, Shimakaze UU Harugumo is just meme, after first contact with the enemies on the 3rd minute of the battle, usually I am in smoke almost constantly to the final few minutes of the battle. The UU Shimakaze, is ONLY if you play as torp boat and nobody sees you to the end of the battle, and you use the guns to finish off someone while you know you won't get hit back. For Atrocious is must, as the airplanes are so slow that you have to be closer to the front lines. Zao is bit different flavour as there are other options like reload.
