ok so if you play the objective you expose yourself to mass torpedo spam and focus fire, and for this you get no rewards?

 

if you dont play the objective but sit 20km farming easy damage you get massive rewards?

 

now im not a professinal game developer so clearly im missing something , but that sounds arse backwards to me

Play the objective and don't expose your self, there is a way of doing it, as the other team seems to have found it.

WG should clarify the rewards for blocking the enemy and speeding up your own air ship (if there is any).

eh? dont think you quite got the point. 

 

would you agree being in that circle is a hindrance.

 like will the enemy be flooding it with speculative torps? will you be forced closer to the enemy? are you likely to be focus fired? 

do you gain any reward for doing all that? 

 

so why not sit back and farm damage in relative safety?

 

see i am of the opinion that a games rewards should both promote and reward the play you are aiming for , your rather oddly placed git gud really doesnt help i mean it has to be obvious that  personal skill wont change the rules there not related.

there may be a reward for the badge of stopping and pushing at the same time for x time but i just did a game where i pushed it from start to finish theres no reward for that

You must be new here, welcome! The less skill you have the more rewards you get from WG. Soon you will face this game totally at random in the random que, congrats! So every other game will just be a waste of the time, ship, flags and boosters and you have ZERO say in it. Nice right?

I would be surprised if more than maybe 10% of the participants are actually trying to complete the mission objective. Most players are either to stupid to understand the mission, or are just grinding ships by farming damage with total disregard to victory and objective.

Well, this is a very clear objective (but a small hint WG: maybe add big neon lights to balloon and make the path a stream of flashing lights, you know, just to be sure) and still this playerbase is too dented to play the objective.

So what happens is that the few who do play the objective get focused down hard as they get in closer. And once you lose a couple of ships, the enemy gets bolder (as in randoms) and gets closer to finish it, accidentally speeding up the balloon.

To sum it up: mode to difficult for playerbase.

If they make it a true rail shooter, it might alleviate the issue, but visual clues alone won't awaken the rudimentary intellect of the silent majority.

All you have to do is play few Operations to see how few players knows or care about the objectives. So this is not a surprise to me.

Whilst the number of people who don’t understand the objective is depressingly large I can’t say I’m surprised. Plenty of players seem to struggle with the basic concept of shoot the red team in any game mode. 
 

Still I’m actually having a lot of fun in this mode, using it to grind out the tier 8 and 9 pan Asian cruisers. Subs are thankfully exceedingly rare so it makes a substantial difference to the whole experience and I can enjoy playing.

I think this mode is brilliant because you have to think and I have some amazing games these last few days.

 

Thankfully I encounter few games where I have had to question the mentality of my team.

You can blame it on WG that a lot of players merely look at "what ship can I play, what class can I evade" rather than at "what is the objective".

Well, I hope this won't do well enough to come to random. Grinding T8 cruisers without heal playing this mode in a T10 match will be hell.

I'm quite enjoying being able to take out some ships that aren't really "meta" and have some fun with them!

 

It's a shame 90% of the playerbase seems blissfully unaware of what to do, or drives 1 by 1 into the massed guns of the enemy fleet, but hey-ho.  

 

Schlieffen is ideal, can print 1M credits per battle in a decent game!
