New Pan Asian Commander Voiceover

Why doesn't he have any Chinese lines but rather the default English (or whatever you pick as default)? There's like 3-4 different Chinese default options in the menu which seemingly have all the call-outs and voice commands already?

 

EDIT: For example if you pick Chinese (Simplified) or Chinese(Traditional) he gets the appropriate voiceover.

Damn, I was hoping the Pan-Asian line would get some voice-over love.
Sure there are several countries under this tag, but at least give a voice-over for those nations that already have a voice.

I mean, he's also a unique historical person with a IRL heritage. Shouldn't be too controversial to get him specifically the correct set of voice lines.

To me it seems the Pan-Asian commanders use whatever general voiceover you have chosen in the settings. If you got English, they should use English. Haven't experimented with this to confirm it, but that's how I think it is.

 

Then again, the Pan-European commanders seem to use English anyway if they are Swedish, the Dutch ones have Dutch voiceover. Not quite what I would call consistent.

My pan-asians shout German, cause I have german as a national voice or whatnot.

They should just take captain Fredrik Henrik af Chapmans voice-lines and put them to every Swedish ship.

Frisland already uses dutch voice and Blyscawica and Orkan uses polish.

Well.. nothing against Chapman but... he's one of a kind, shall we say. I think we would need more.... conventional and contemporary voiceovers for the Swedish captains. Because we need them, and as I pointed out, the way WG gives some nationalities generic voiceovers, like the Polish and the Dutch, and leaves others without is inconsistent and makes no sense.

 

You probably have a German client with German game voiceover selected by default. The game voiceover language seems to determine the voiceover language used in scenarios, and strangely enough, the Pan-Asian line. I haven't tested what determines the English voiceover for the Swedish captains. It isn't the game voiceover language, and having National+ for the captains voiceover does not change it to Swedish, it stays English. Could it be the client language? In that case your Swedish captains would be using German though....

I launch via Steam so client is in English, I just switched my national voice-over to German. I like my Ops.officer to yell German to me.

Swedish ships seem to use american-english voice-over, even with German selected in options.

The plus (+) lets you hear the special commander voiceovers, like Jingles and Cap.

The interesting thing about them is that they use English, and they bring their own ghetto blaster to the battle too!

The (+) also lets you hear each commander in his own language, even the regular ones. All my German commanders talk German, the IJN ones use Japanese, the Russians speak Russian and so on. But will check again if Pan-Asia is an exception to this.

I think that functionality comes with the National without the plus sign as well but without the plus the special voiceover commanders use the generic national voices. I'm using National +, and I have the game voiceover language with the Pan-Asian commanders. All of them.
